I think she is a great doctor. Straight foward and tell things the way they are. Always wants best for your child.

On March 23, 2022, I made my son an appointment for 8:30 AM. I made an appointment because he had…read morethe following symptoms: cough, and stuffy nose. When Dr. R. Kilian Schafer came into the room first thing, he had said was that my son is obese and I need to watch his weight, he gained 7 pounds since the last visit. He not only assumed, but confirmatively told me, my son is obese, and I had diabetes in my family. Which I DO NOT. He clearly made that assumption by racially profiling. As the visit continued, he checked my son's lungs, nose, ears, and throat. Then checked his motor motions. While doing the motor exam he then asked my son to see his private parts, which is NOT part of this routine checkup for his current symptoms. I immediately declined him doing so and asked him why he needs to exam his private area. He then said to see if the child has any type of puberty. He is 5 years old, so no puberty checks needed. He neglected to realize he was there for sickness not a physical exam. Dr. R Kilian at this point seemed to be agitated with me. As he approached my son for Covid swab, he asked me to hold his hand while he is laying on the table, head towards him. As I'm holding my son's right hand, Dr. R Kilian had his Right hand on my son left shoulder and Left hand with the Q-tip Swab, he went ahead forcefully stick the swab up my son's nose. My son yelled STOP it hurts with tears rushing out is left eye. At this point Dr. R Kilian had his right forearm forcefully on my son's chest, still having the swab up his nose. I quickly said STOP while my hands were on his forearm trying to move him away from my child. Dr. R Kilian didn't stop, after repeating and yelling to let my son go 5x. He didn't even take the swab out my son's nose. I had to physically shove him with my shoulder and move him away from my son! He quickly walked out the room heading towards Dr. Tulip, Dr. R Kilian told him he made a mistake and said he thought I was telling my son to stop and let go. At this point as I followed Dr. R Kilian, Dr. Tulip inform me that someone will be coming to talk to me in the room. I was furious and very upset over what had just encounter. Historically upset and shocked, a lady came in the room about 5 min later and asked me to calm down and voiced that this was all a misunderstanding. That Dr. R Kilian misunderstood me. At this point I knew there was no compromising or expressing how wrong this was. As I stopped her and asked her why he didn't stop after asking him 5x to let him go, why didn't he stop? As my voice was getting a little louder, she asked me to leave and that she will be calling the cops on me. I recorded them for my protection, them telling me this was a misunderstanding and I need to leave. I am in shock, my experience with this clinic is distraught. My disappointment towards the staff and how things were handled is why I am making this formal complaint. This was a terrifying situation I've been in, let alone my 5-year-old son. It was very uncomfortable to begin with and ended up traumatizing for my child at the end.

I asked them to go look back at their till at the end of that day to see if they were over money, I asked them to see who was working receptionist desk that morning, look at cameras but no I got the same response everytime I spoke like he wasn't even listening to what I said because he knew I didn't have the receipt so automatically just assumed I didn't pay. I will pay this bill a second time and never take my kids back here again. just a friendly reminder to keep all receipts especially when paying cash because welp people suck and do lame things.

We have had some appointments at the Providence Hospital location and we prefer Huffman by far. Every time we've come, we've been the only patients there. The place is large enough, quiet, and sterile. Check-in is quick and easy. We're always taken to a room right away. We've never had to wait long to see a doctor here. I always choose to see whichever doctor is available and we're always taken care of. It always feels like we are in and out, which is what I prefer. I require mask exemptions, various referrals, referral amendments, and referral updates for my son with non-verbal autism. I love that the doctors here just get it, and do whatever they can to assist me and get things faxed out ASAP. All staff encountered have been kind and professional. The only negative is the lack of toys or entertainment for the kids, as a covid precaution I assume. As mentioned previously, you are taken to a room immediately after checking-in, so its not a big deal, at least for my family.

We have been going to Karen at Kids Are People Too for 2 years--shortly after my daughter was born…read more Karen and her team noticed subtle areas in my daughter that I am glad we pursued. They are very well-trained to identify even the smallest nuances in your child and address them at an early age so they don't progress to bigger issues down the road. I am SO happy that we found Karen as her PT experience and professionalism has been demonstrated over and over in the wonderful progress my daughter has made and continues to make. We can't thank Kids Are People Too enough- my daughter and I look forward to Karen's sessions as opposed to it being a struggle to get in her PT time . (Did I mention, they do HOME visits--immensely convenient!).

The medical professionals are caring and considerate of our needs/wants for our care. Julie has been a great doctor for us and Pediatrician for our kids. We have enjoyed our visits when we have them. No office is perfect, there will always be things that happen, but Hillside has been very professional when dealing with miscommunications or billing issues. We live 6 hours away by vehicle and often need work around a to make things work and coordinate. After making an appointment for teléfono and explaining that we would also need referrals for an allergist while booking a physical appointment we set up an appointment to teledoc the referral prior to a physical visit. At the appointed time they just didn't call so we reached out and were informed they would not be seeing us for teledoc without a physical in person visit first. All of this explained ahead of time at the time of booking the appointment. If you are like us living in rural Alaska this clinic is not for you, in Anchorage living your best life they are probably just fine. We will find a good GP somewhere else. The front office staff seemed very put out for having to do any sort of coordination on the second visit. Glad we found this out up front
