Do NOT go here for laser tattoo removal. On their website it says the dermatologist oversees every laser treatment, but I have not seen the dermatologist one time throughout my various sessions. The technicians using the laser have differing opinions and it's overall very inconsistent. I will no longer be wasting my money or time here. You would be much better off going somewhere else. Fortson Dermatology definitely DOES NOT specialize in tattoo removal. I've found that just because it's a dermatologist, DOES NOT mean it's better. Don't waste your money here! read more

Dr Fortson came highly recommended to me by a friend, and I can now see why. She is a top-notch professional who was thorough, answered all of my questions, and had helpful suggestions. Her staff was equally great. I was seen on time and the paperwork was refreshingly succinct. The appointment was so well orchestrated that I was in and out in no time, yet I never felt rushed or hurried. I felt like they had all the time in the world for me. The whole visit was actually very enjoyable, and who ever says that about going to the doctor! The front office staff were welcoming, kind, and efficient. I've been to quite a few dermatologists and feel Dr. Fortson is one of the best. She is the only one that gave me a very thorough check when I had a skin cancer scare, followed up on my progress, and answered all of my questions. I like that she is very professional and straight to the point. I also really appreciated her assistant staying longer with me to answer any more questions I had. The in house pharmacy is great! Incredibly rude and uncaring. I went in to acne treatments tried to prescribe me an antibiotic which I declined because they'd made me ill before. Actually that was my fault for taking them improperly..uhhuh so a common aide effect is my fault. She then proceeded to tell how she could laser off my full back tattoo, it's a nice one not that it matters. Gave me a RX for something I can get over the counter. Go to Senter dermatology, they actually care and are up to date of best treatments. read more

If you get laser treatment, which you don't go in for, think first before signing anything and read the forms. You will have to pay for the treatments even if the first few have unwanted negative results. Make sure you have a clause for prorated services on the contract. Otherwise, they will change you for ones you didn't use, even if you couldn't use them because of reactions to the ones you did use. This office will talk you into stuff you didn't come in for. Anytime, that happens get an estimate and see someone else for a second opinion. Otherwise, you may have to pay out of pocket for something your insurance doesn't cover. Get full cost in writing of any services especially if over extended time. Call your insurance and see what is and what isn't covered. You will think this office would do this for you, but they don't. read more

Just don't. The staff are nice, doctor is not so nice, nor does she seem to care much for her patients. Her knowledge is outdated and I along with several others have ended up permanently scarred and losing a lot of money. Go to Dr. Ehrnstrom (spelling?) - he's the best in town. Dr. Fortson dismissed a suspect mole as nothing. I went to Dr. Janine Miller to get a second opinion. Immediately Dr. Miller biopsied the spot and it turned out as a Basal Cell Carcinoma. So glad I got the second opinion! I trust Dr. Miller to assess my skin health and find her straight-forward manner to be refreshing and professional. read more

I have been fighting psoriasis for years, Dr. Fortson has me completely clear of all signs of psoriasis. I am very grateful to be referred to her. The only drawback is she does not take insurance, you have to pay for it and get reimbursed by your insurance company. read more

I called to set up an appointment for a face laser treatment. I'd had it done at other dermatologists, however they did not offer the specific laser treatment I'd had previously so they set me up with a "consultation" with the doctor to determine if the laser treatments they do provide could help. They also scheduled me an appt later that afternoon for a laser treatment in the case that the doctor thought it would be beneficial. We decided not to move forward with the laser treatment because I'm still nursing however upon checkout from my "consultation" they charged me $220 for a doctor's appointment. I told them that I asked prior to my appointment what the consultation cost and they said it was free. I am a detailed person and I speak very directly. The miscommunication was not mine. I repeated the information back to the office staff before hanging up, "OK, so the consultation is free and I would only pay for the face laser at the afternoon appt if I move forward with it." The lady confirmed that I understood things correctly. WRONG! They specifically lied to me and it cost them nothing and cost me $220. Funny how that worked huh? This is the customer service you can expect. They took zero responsibility for their "miscommunication," if you want to call it that, and somehow I paid for it instead. Jayne Fortson knows dermatology well, helped get my skin clear but sadly spoke to me in a Rude tone. There was multiple miscommunications with Fortsons staff. when I informed the doctor of the mistakes, I was told the miscommunication may have been caused by me instead of just addressing the problem.That mistake was sending my presciption to the wrong Pharmacy! Causing me to go to the wrong Pharmacy! The mistakes were absolutely Fortsons staff fault. I am not sure if I will go back or not because of the interaction I had with the doctor especially after informing them of the mistakes. The assistant was also sloppy, uninterested causing one mistake herself. I think if they worked on customer service, double checking their work and treating people with respect it would go a long way! read more

Staff and office were so-so but definitely not outright professional. Front office looked messy with piles of paperwork and files in view. I was a new patient and nobody except Dr. Fortson introduced themselves. Dr. Fortson was rude. She nitpicked and corrected her assistant during my appointment and did not listen to me at all. I was not given a medical history questionnaire to complete, but I was verbally asked a few general questions. I am fairly certain I have a non-allergic skin reaction to something I'm eating and wasn't sure if I should see a dermatologist or an allergist. I specifically mentioned that I am not interested in treatments or medications for my infrequently occurring problem but that I want to find a cause and way to prevent my skin issues. After asking only a couple questions and interrupting my answers, Dr. Fortson started recommending a number of treatments and topical creams and products the office sells. I use a few skincare products and typically have very nice skin. She blamed all my problems on my hygiene routine and told me I need to consider products like the ones she sells. After questioning whether I should see an allergist for my concerns, she downgraded my request and told me how intensive and expensive that would be and proceeded to tell me she didn't have any idea what was causing my problems but I if I really wanted to, I could see if an allergist could help me. Overall poor experience, but if you want to see a doctor who doesn't listen to anything you have to say, go for it. read more

Worst dermatologist appointment in my life not only was I treated like I was wasting her time but called a liar to my face. I have had deformed moles all my life and multiple surgeries to remove my moles. I've had one particular surgery when I was little I was told that it was impossible for a small child to have a cancerous mole. She glanced at my skin and sent me on my way. I will never go back to a doctor who has such terrible bedside manners as this one. read more
