I spent weeks looking through instagram profiles so you don't have to. Here's her website: (https://photosbyjoanah.mypixieset.com) Our photo session with Joanah was one of the highlights during our trip because it was just so much fun. It felt like we were just a family of 3 playing on the beach. Joanah is truly gifted and you could just tell she loves what she does. When I reached out to Joanah, she got back to me with a location guide and even an outfit guide. Her location guide was extremely helpful since we were not locals and had no idea where to do our photos. As parents of a shy toddler (3yr old), my husband and I were so surprised by how easily our daughter befriended Joanah. She came prepared with a cute bunny attachment to her camera and my daughter was immediately enchanted. But honestly I think it was just the way Joanah was able to make everyone feel so comfortable. Thank you Joanah for capturing such beautiful memories for us. I can't wait to have these up in our home!

My fiancé and I were visiting Hawai'i for the second time -- we came to celebrate my birthday and figured while we were there to commemorate our upcoming 10 year anniversary through a photoshoot. We got engaged on the island 1.5 years ago, so it felt right! We have not taken professional photos before, and I wanted us to start feeling comfortable being guided with prompts and poses in front of the camera. Joanah did exactly that! Her editing style and color grading immediately caught my eye, and seeing the candid, authentic moments she's captured for past clients was exactly the style of photography I was looking for. I sent an inquiry through her website, and she responded super quickly. She was so accommodating while we figured out a day and location that fit our vision. When a storm hit Hawai'i just days before our shoot, she proactively suggested alternative locations to keep us safe. Thankfully, the weather cleared, and we got to take our photos at our original, stunning location! We are so incredibly happy with how our photos turned out with Joanah, and we know we'll cherish them for years to come!! Providing just a few of the photos here, but we have so many favorite ones from the gallery she provided! Joanah made the whole shoot feel fun and comfortable, and I felt completely natural around her. She even provided props and shared a short behind-the-scenes video from our session, which was such a sweet surprise! An absolute sweetheart! Thank you so much, Joanah!! I cannot recommend her enough!

Not only was she easy to work with, professional, and punctual, she is one of those rare people you'll meet in life who genuinely has your (and your wedding's) best interest in mind. Ella's package included an engagement shoot and she made the fantastic suggestions to go to a dog beach in San Diego (we live about 2 hours away). We received a big batch of amazing engagement photos and the best part was that she made the experience fun for us. My husband and I are usually very awkward, but with Ella, it felt natural to pose and just have a good time. Ella and her partner worked tirelessly at our wedding and we are so happy with our 800+ photos that we received. She was detail oriented, organized, but somehow made picture taking painless and chill. Her photos were bright, cheerful, and she captured the mood of our wedding perfectly. I'd hire Ella again in a heartbeat for any and all future photoshoots. She is absolutely amazing and you won't go wrong with Ella for your wedding.

We absolutely love working with her--she's so sweet and she gives really clear direction/instructions. My husband and I agree that we always feel super comfortable whenever we're getting our picture taken by her. There's great communication throughout the whole process and the end product never fails to blow me away! I wish our house had more wall space because want to frame and hang it all! NEWBORN: More about our newborn shoot--it was awesome! Meagan came with some greenery that she previously contacted me about for preference. I loved that she gives you the option of shooting at her studio or at your home (we picked shooting in our home so that we could do some shots with the family dog). She budgets a healthy amount of time to factor in soothing and feeding--I didn't feel rushed at all. She's so patient and you get such a good vibe working with her, which is great for kids and newborns but also really relaxing for stressed-out soon-to-be-moms like I was (and I bet it would go really well with busy busy brides with a bazillion things on their minds). P.S.: Like all in-demand professionals, contact her ahead of time to get on her calendar--Once we made contact, it was a breeze to schedule!

We set up an engagement shoot with her via her website, which as intuitive to use. She and I had a quick phone call to discuss what we wanted out of our pictures and what kind of couple we were (i.e. fun, adventurous, playful). This was helpful in setting the tone for our photoshoot. She had us look through her gallery online and pick out some of our favorites. In doing so, we chose a location together: Makapu'u Beach. Elise even helped us decide on an outfit--she suggested focusing on color palettes and avoiding being too "matchy matchy," which was great advice. She was communicative and followed up with us before our photoshoot for confirmation. It was great meeting her the day of, and she was patient with us even though we had a difficult time finding the meeting spot. She knew how to relax us and bring out the true romance in us. Her tips and suggestions were effective in helping us feel natural and unposed. Our pictures turned out great as a result! (See attached) Makapu'u Beach was absolutely beautiful and we're grateful for having the opportunity to explore it, thanks to Elise. After our shoot, she told us about sites to explore in the area, such as the nearby tide pools and the Hawaiian religious site. She gave us tips about the island itself, such as how to avoid getting your stuff stolen as a tourist, which beaches are best for beginners, etc. We really enjoyed our time with Elise and would highly recommend her to anyone looking to get photos done for any occasion!
