I recommend this facility - in fact have done so, to a coworker, already. I have to say that I am a horrible dental patient-and I know this and let the office know right from the get go. The one thing that really is the hardest for me too work with is late. If I make an appointment-and I arrive 10 minutes early, and then am not taken back until 20 minutes - after my appointment time. And there was no apology, and or just acknowledgment of the delay. This is unacceptable. This office is VERY clean. They are following all protocols - and everyone is in PPE. The front desk is up doing wipe downs of all surfaces - doors, counters, any touch points & the bathroom facilities. read more

Needed a second opinion about one tooth of mine. I was referred to this place by my coworker. So glad I did! Upon entering, I was immediately greeted with nice and friendly staff! Don't let this place fool you from the outside, they have nicely done Egyptian decor on the inside, which was fun to check out! I was getting a consultation and had to fill out new paperwork. The gal at the front desk was super nice and explained to me what information is needed, instead of having me go at it alone. I met with Dr. Enmark, she was so sweet and explained to me what needed to be done for my tooth. She was straight forward and to the point. No dancing around and up selling. They have this cool looking probing pen that has a camera at the end, it takes pictures of your actual tooth, that was super cool to see! I love new technology! After the consultation, she recommended that I needed a crown. She explained and showed me which types they had. They were straight forward with pricing as well and what was covered under my insurance. If you're in search for a new dentist or need a second opinion, I recommend Dr. Enmark. When I first started coming to Dr.Enmark her staff was so kind and amazing! They were always able to get me in super fast! Lately it's been a drag just to get an appointment. I originally had an appointment Dec 17 however I wasn't able to make it that day I call to reschedule and they pushed me out to the end of Jan 2022. No problem however I called again today to reschedule my Feb 15 appt and the service I received today was horrible. Not only did I let the gal know I am only available on fridays after 2pm she rudely said well I only have a 9am for March 9th. Again I remind her I can only go in on Friday and she then stated ok well then I only have April 29th. I told her ok I'll take that one. I will no longer go here and continue receiving this horrible service. read more

Having recently moved to Sacramento from Los Angeles, I wanted to find a dentist that would be able to cater to my oral health needs. My experience in LA was horrendous (Woodside Dental in Westwood) and it partially made me dread going to the dentist! I found Dr. Enmark's dental office through Yelp and other online searches after noticing that many patients were very satisfied with the care and service they received from the staff. The office is also conveniently located about 5 minutes from my residence. I went in for an initial consultation and was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by warm and friendly staff members. The dental clinicians were very knowledgeable and provided thorough education regarding dental health, prevention techniques and my overall dental treatment plan. Dr. Enmark sat down with me even before doing an assessment/cleaning and listened to my needs, concerns and goals. I appreciated that she built rapport with me and provided a conducive environment for one-on-one attention (I've noticed this has been lacking in the healthcare field in general). My Husband recently went to see Michelle for excruciating pain he was having due to a root canal, that he later found out had been done improperly. He came back to me with a GLOWING report, that I just HAD to share: My husband said that, we he walked in, he immediately felt comfortable. He barely had to wait, even though there were several other patients in the waiting room-- which has an Egyptian type decor. He also noted that they are sure to assign a hygienist to each patient, so that you are never waiting in a room alone. There are TV's in each room for patients who would like to watch movies while they are undergoing long procedures. He also said that, even though he felt that some of his questions may have been "ridiculous," the hygienist was more than happy to answer each one, and when he met with Michelle herself, he was very impressed by her knowledge, how friendly she was and how genuine she was. He was extremely happy with his visit and, in his exact words: "I feel like I found our family dentist." Which is DAMN impressive. My cleaning was very thorough and they offer tips to help improve my oral hygene that made sense to me. Finally a normal dentist office. I was so glad I found Dr Enmark's office after trying to find a good honest dentist. They just recently moved into their own office space (building) which is very cool and decorated with a female sensibility. The staff is friendly and very accommodating and Dr Enmark was friendly, knowledgable and forthright. Nobody tried to upsell me any services or tell me I needed extensive treatments. WOW! I've been having my teeth cleaned for a couple of years at Dr. Enmark's office, but I had an actual procedure there - a filling - for the first time yesterday. I was a little nervous, since I haven't had a dental procedure in several years. Dr. Enmark's assistant, Nisha, was warm and friendly, and she put me at ease right away. She placed cotton in my mouth with a local anesthetic to numb the tooth and gums a little. Then Dr. Enmark gave me a shot of Lidocaine to thoroughly numb the area. She gave me the shot so slowly that I didn't feel a thing! And she checked to make sure I was numb enough to proceed. The procedure took about 20 minutes. Nisha and Dr. Enmark kept up a cheerful banter with each other that kept me happily distracted, while they deftly and expertly worked together to fix my tooth. I feel so blessed to have access to such an excellent doctor with a great assistant and all the latest equipment. I didn't feel one bit of pain! I hope to have Dr. Enmark and her team take care of all my dental needs for years to come! read more

I think she is very nice and the dental office is really cool. The staff is very helpful. I went on my first visit yesterday and we already have a whole plan to go. I even got two appointments coming up. The office is remodeled and clean looking. It has an Egyptian/museum look to it and you can tell that its neat and clean. Also, there is a built in nail spa right in the waiting area. So when you get your dental work done and youre feeling numb, you can go and treat yourself. Dr. Enmark was very professional. I'm glad to see that Dr. Enmark has good ratings on Yelp. She deserves it. I'm not sure that giving 4 stars is totally fair because it's about the services they don't offer that I wish they did. They mostly do general dentistry. If you have a problem outside of that, you get referred to someone else. The problem I was having with this is that Dr. Enmark would do what she thought should be done, and sometimes it didn't work so she would have to refer me to a specialist. Then the specialist would do what they thought should be done. Eventually I would end up back with Dr. Enmark to finish the procedure. I'll give you an example. I had a tooth that was painful. Dr. Enmark looked at it and said the decay was deep and it was borderline whether it could be fixed with a filling or whether it would need a root canal. I appreciate that she took into consideration the less invasive and less expensive route, but I should have made the decision to go to a specialist right away when she said that we could give it a try and see if it works. Instead I went ahead and had her do the filling but the pain persisted so it became evident that the tooth was too far gone so I ended up having to go to a specialist for a root canal. If you do the math, I ended up paying for a filling and then I paid for a root canal when I should have only paid for one procedure. After I went to the specialist I wondered why I wasn't referred to begin with because the tooth was so bad that the root canal had to be done in three appointments. Now I'm suppose to go back to Dr. Enmark to have a cap put on it. This one tooth has cost me a fortune not to mention all the time going back and forth. Now I'm in the position where I need a lot of dental work done. Dr. Enmark has referred me to 2 other specialists to address the different things that need to be done. Dr. Enmark and the 2 specialists all have their own ideas of what needs to be done, of course considering their own profession. I didn't know who to believe. All I knew is that I was being pulled in different directions with my wallet in hand. So I decided to ask Dr. Enmark if she could help sort this out and act on behalf by talking to the other specialist since she referred me to them. I asked to have a written plan developed that outlined everything that needed to be done, who would do it, how much it cost for each procedure, how to prioritize everything that needs to be done, what the timeline will be and what will my insurance covers verses what I will need to pay out of pocket depending on when I have specific procedures done. Dr. Enmark agreed to do this and said that it was their responsibility to provide oversight of everything that needs to be done and that she would have the office staff contact the specialists and my dental insurance provider to develop this plan. I never heard from them again which saddens me because I liked going to Dr. Enmark. But it's probably better this way because even though I hate Kaiser there is something to be said for what I call the "one stop shop" healthcare model with everything under the same roof. That's what I'm looking for now but I'm weary because it's not going to be easy finding a dentist like Dr. Enmark. The other reason I gave 4 stars is because there doesn't seem to be a coordinated office oversight. I don't know if they have an office manager but if they don't they need one, if they do, they need to do some work on training staff. There is one staff behind the desk that they all go to for answers. I don't know if she is the manager but if she is then she needs to be given some relief and have some of the work she does reassigned to the other staff so she can focus on putting systems in place, training staff so they rely less on her and work on customer service. Unfortunately, I get the sense that she is experiencing burnout because sometimes she is very accommodating but other times you can feel her frustration because it comes out in her response or lack of response. In short, don't let this discourage you from going to see Dr. Enmark. Just be aware that their services are limited to general dentistry and if you need anything outside of that, be prepared to be passed around and pay the cost associated with this. read more

Dr enmark is the best! The entire office is actually. I recently moved to Sacramento and started seeing dr enmark in oct 2012 (it's now May 2013). She is so sweet, kind, gentle, smart, helpful, attentive and you can tell she really cares about her staff! I just went yesterday for my cleaning and Joel was the hygienist who helped me and he was just as awesome!! We had a great conversation about school, fun activities and better ways to improve my dental hygiene. Can't say enough awesome things about this full proof office! read more

I love this office and Dr. Enmark and Dr. Crooks too. Even though they dont take my insurance and can be pricey. They are a bit far from me, but I continue to make the drive because I like this office so much and I like female dentists as the male dentists I have had don't seem to understand what "I can feel that" means. Dr. Enmark believes me and takes her time to make sure I am not jumping out of my skin onto the ceiling and I dont feel like she gets annoyed with me when I ask for a break. Something seemed a bit fishy about this place. I went in for a regular teeth cleaning and they suggested I get EIGHT fillings when I never had a cavity in my life. I had been to the dentist about a year prior, so was slightly shocked they said my mouth was practically falling apart in that time frame. But what do I know? Since they had good reviews here on Yelp I went along with it and trusted them. They were all very nice and made me feel comfortable but within six months one of my fillings fell out. Yeah, not good. Went back and got it fixed for free. Few months later, a different filling fell out. Mind you, I take care of my teeth. I floss, mouthwash, and brush two to three times daily. Unfortunately I won't be going back to them to get it fixed. I am not really sure what to think and wish I got a second opinion from another dentist. I also have a tooth that was incorrectly filled so I have to floss it every time after I eat since food gets stuck under the tooth. My current dentist said I am now more prone to my tooth getting a cavity. It's a hot mess that will need to be replaced in the future. Waste of three visits, a ton of money, and my time. read more

My husband and I recently moved to Sacramento from San Francisco. For months, we'd been so busy fixing up our new house and moving our stuff that we'd skipped one of our biannual cleaning and checkup sessions with our excellent San Francisco dentist. Twice a day, we both brush with electric toothbrushes, floss thoroughly, and use mouthwash. We did not have any pain or other dental symptoms, but we were concerned about not having had a cleaning/checkup for 11 months. We made finding a dentist a priority and chose this office on the basis of its Yelp reviews. We were able to get cleaning appointments close to each other on the same day, but could not schedule checkups until over two weeks later. However, we will *never* return to this office for checkups (it turned out they'd lost our appointments anyway). The hygienist took pictures of my teeth and mentioned likely dire problems with a fair number. At first I was rather alarmed. Then I realized I have not been experiencing any pain or bleeding, the number of problematic teeth seemed excessive, and most of all, a hygienist is *not a dentist*. Every other hygienist I have ever had has said something like, "Hmm, there *may* be a problem with this tooth, I'll make a note for the dentist to have a look at it." This hygienist was diagnosing all over the place. After the fastest (and the only one-person) gum examination I'd ever had, she claimed that although most of my teeth had gum pockets of depth 3, one was a 5 and another was a 6. She said that my gums bled a little in one or two places while she was cleaning, which has happened before. All my life I've had problems with deeper pockets when I have not kept up with cleanings. So I was not surprised, in fact at times it's been much worse. (I didn't start flossing till I was in college and at first it was a bloodbath.) Considering I skipped a cleaning, I expected a lecture on better flossing and just maybe, an extra cleaning this year. However, this hygienist repeatedly and aggressively pushed "deep cleaning" throughout the regular cleaning process. When I asked what deep cleaning was, all she told me was that my teeth would be cleaned further down. When I asked for specific information about the procedure, all she told me was that my gums would be numbed so it would not hurt. I explained what I said above, and said that good home hygiene and regular dental cleanings had always solved the problem. She continued to push deep cleaning. I thought to myself that I'd do some research on the process, and/or consult the dentist during my checkup, and then make a decision. It's not like this was an emergency. I told the hygienist that I did not want deep cleaning at this time. However, as soon as she finished she announced that now we'd go to the desk and make an appointment for deep cleaning. I refused. She said firmly, "Then I will go talk to *your husband*" (who was already back in the waiting room). She marched over and proceeded to try to talk him into a deep cleaning for me, as if I were not part of the decision-making process about my own teeth. This was the most humiliating experience I've had for years. I'm a responsible middle-aged adult. I have a high IQ and a post-BA degree. I have significant academic training and professional experience in research. I've worked for some very prestigious companies. I've been a supervisor on complicated projects managing large teams of people. I run a successful small business. I am fully my husband's equal and he considers me to be such. Neither of us has any dental or medical training but both of us, and in this case I mean specifically me, have the skills to research recommended treatments. I would not turn over any medical/dental decisions to my husband, a dentist, a doctor, or anyone else, unless I were mentally and/or physically incapacitated. I have never been incapacitated and certainly am not now. Meanwhile, although my husband had a number of depth 5 pockets, *his* hygienist tried to push fluoride treatments on him because he has a dry mouth. Our previous dentist said the dry mouth is a side effect of a prescription medication, gave him some mouth gel, recommended a different mouthwash, but said there's really no more that can be done. Update: I did a little research on fluoride treatments for dry mouth. They do not cure dry mouth; they are *sometimes* done because people with dry mouth *may* be more prone to cavities. Except my husband has had dry mouth for years and a *very low* incidence of cavities. I just started doing research on the deep cleaning. But considering my gums have been much more tender at some other times in my life, I've had deep pockets on many more teeth at some other times, and regular cleanings always took care of the problem, I don't think I need anything that drastic. In any case, I don't trust any recommendation by anyone at this dental office. read more

I have had my fair share of the dentist chair. Fortunately, 8 years ago I was referred to Dr. Enmark and since then I have stopped looking for a good dentist because I feel I have a great one. Dr. Enmark's competence and experience has given me complete confidence in her work. She does an amazing job with smile and professionalism. I moved to Sacramento over 10years ago, but continued commutting back and forth to San Jose for dental care, up until I got married about 2 1/2 years ago. Since then, I've put off going to the dentist, as it has always been so daunting to try to figure out where to go from the huge list of providers the insurance gives you. A few months ago, a filling broke off on my molar, and as my tooth has gotten more painful....I finally decided it was time to just pick a dentist already. I found Dr. Enmark through the positive reviews on yelp, and I can say, the reviews weren't wrong!!! The office building was warm and welcoming, and I was surprised to find a nail spa inside near the waiting area. May have to make use of this later when I bring in my daughter for appointments. The front desk staff was helpful, and took time to explain my insurance benefits and out of pocket costs for the various procedures I would need. Dr. Enmark was friendly and I was quickly put at ease with her warm, caring demeanor. I was a bit nervous about what she would say about my 2.5years of no cleanings and generally bad oral hygiene habits. While she did discuss the importance of oral health care, she did so in a way that was not humiliating or condescending. She was very knowledgable, and took time to explain what she was doing, as she was doing it. I am very happy with my office visit, and will be going back soon to fix some broken fillings and cavities. I also convinced my husband to go!
