I'm only giving one star for the doctor herself. I really liked her. That's the only reason I stayed at that location. They seem to be super understaffed all the time. It's hard to get an appointment reschedule. If you do it's months out I had called and canceled my appointment due to me being sick. The appointment was out super far to be rescheduled. I complained that it was so far out. She refused to put me on a cancellation list and because of me complaining told me that I should look for a different office if I didn't like the fact that they were understaffed, barely returned phone calls, and had all of the sudden changes when I had already been a patient there for a while. I waited a bit cause I really like the doctor to see if Maybe the staff will change or they would be more put together as far as having the appropriate staff size When I called today, I was told that I'm basically being refused service. I've never been told that she told me that I was made aware of that the day that I hung up in the girls face the day I hung up in the girl's face was the day that she told me to look for a new office because I didn't like that. The appointment was so far out that's super unprofessional. I have a right to feel that way I'm paying to be seen and I don't understand how if this is the case I was never notified. I never got a letter like everybody in the Other review said I Actually, just got an invitation to some event. She was sending out since she remodeled or something of that nature I'm baffled and I thought about not leaving the review because of how they have responded to the other reviews but the only ones that are good are people that have been with her so long and seem like they have some type of friendship anybody that sticks up for themselves she treats bad so I'll be reporting this office to the Better Business Bureau cause how could you expect me to be professional? It was right before you were moving and it still makes me mad because it's so unfair and the girls in your office called my phone to confirm an appointment at 11:30 PM. This is not professional behavior so I'm not coming back not ever. and said my appointment was a week before it actually was and then told me it was my mistake when I know , it was not. Dr refused service because I didn't want X-rays before a cleaning. Said it's her policy not to provide service without an X-ray however does not and can not provide written policy on it. Dr is a scam for money and not trustworthy. Highly advise going elsewhere. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

To Taz's review, the inefficient, lacking, customer service skills, and empathy and consideration is in fact a long time employee. She is an established employee with the practice. I have been employed in the Healthcare Administration industry for more than 20 years, normally this behavior would not be tolerated. I was a new patient to Dr. Diaz, there was one appointment following my initial appointment when Dr. Diaz reviewed my treatment plan extracted one tooth, and informed me she would be referring me out for the other extractions. The treatment plan Dr. Diaz created for me included her plan to provide me with bridges and crowns. She stated my bones would not work for implants'. (?) I was referred out to a specialists for the extractions. I attempted to schedule to proceed with the treatment plan and follow up with Dr. Diaz and was informed by "someone new to the office, answering calls and responding to emails", that the office was closed for a couple of weeks for relocation. After weeks of attempting to schedule for the follow up treatment plan and to get a straight answer, the person covering was clearly a "go between", with limited information provided to her. I was finally informed the front office coordinator/insurance verification clerk had an emergency and was going to be out for awhile, then she was working from home. The most frustrating and shocking response was when I was informed the office coordinator/insurance verification clerk was not able to verify my insurance. My insurance had not changed. I contacted my insurance company that confirmed I was still designated to Dr. Frizz Diaz, DDS, and my insurance had not changed along with the authorizations for my treatment plan Dr. Diaz office had submitted. My question is who does this and how long is it allowed? Yes, there was a student in the office who was not allowed to have patient contact experience, it was my observation when she was only allowed to file and shelve inventory. I was required and able to get established with a professional, efficient, responsible and personable dental practice that is providing exemplary customer front the time I entered the office until I left. In the meantime, for months my ability to chew and eat has been very limited and restricted. I feel taken advantage of, via billing my active insurance that never changed and violated. Such a terrible and sad experience. Dr. Diaz, please pay attention to your reviews. Worst dentist ever!!! My first and ONLY visit was primarily lots of painful X-rays. Dentist Diaz seemed disappointed that I have all teeth and there was no work needed. I thought great. She then began to polish my teeth and suddenly stopped and walked me to the door. Yep, with a mouthful of grit. No water or mouthwash or place to spit? Yep!! Disgusting place!!!!! The last couple of years, Dr. Diaz has had GREAT staff. All the previous issues seem to have disappeared. I think that she has dental students in her office, and that might explain some of the inconsistencies. But lately, everyone from the receptionist to the dental assistants have been really lovely and competent. And Dr. Diaz is still a good dentist - efficient and competent. read more

I was searching for a dentist and found one that was near my school. It was hard to get an appointment and took 4 months to finally be in the office. Very frustrating! They cancelled on me one time due to lack of staff. Then proceed to schedule me 2 months later, but I negotiated down to 1 month. I haven't been to the dentist for 2 years, so I desperately needed it. The dental assistant was not very patient. I have sensitive gag reflexes, so you have to be gentle with me, which I warned them. The dental assistant thought I was playing with them and got mad at me quickly. They thought that I am making their life difficult on purpose when it was something that I can't control. After a lot of passive aggressiveness over the x-ray machine, I finally saw Dr. Diaz. She found out that I grind my teeth sometimes and told me some options for it. Overall, she knew what she was doing and answered my questions thoroughly. I just wish the dental assistant was as good as the dentist. read more

This is an awesome dental office. I was there today and the new place looks amazing. It's very clean and the staff are very friendly specially the staff in the front. They treated me with care and explain procedures so that I could understand. Overall I had great experience. I 100% recommend this place. Some of my family are now members of this dental office. There are a couple of good reviews for this dentist so I suppose she has good days and bad. Which frankly, doesn't bode well for the practice professionalism. I had my initial appointment cancelled twice which happens I suppose, but it was finally scheduled and ready to go. I got a call the day before to confirm the day and time, all swell. However when I showed up, (which was a half hour early for any paperwork) the first thing the receptionist said was "oh we wanted to reschedule you for an hour sooner". An hour sooner? But they had already confirmed the day before and didn't even call the morning of if it was the case that something came up. There was one person ahead of me, no one else waiting. And I was only there for a simple cleaning. The dental assistant was impatient and rude. I took time off work to finally get this appointment met (which had been rescheduled), and she at her own job tried to make me feel like I was wasting her time. She said I would mess up the x rays and that I was overreacting as she jabbed the tab into my soft tissue. I am not dentist phobic and this lack of empathy absolutely appalled me. The dentist herself was all business and a little quick. She pointed out some crowding issues and that I might consider seeing an orthodontist. Just fine, that's sound advice. I asked her to explain more what issues I might see upcoming and if the crowding might affect anything else. I wanted to weight the pros and cons of adult braces at this time and wanted to know if I was at risk for any bite issues. Instead, she said to me that it wasn't her job to convince me and that she was advising for my own good. I chose this office because it was nearby to me, and simply a nice location. But maybe I should have seen the only four-days a week and twice rescheduling as a red flag. (All this occurred in fall of 2019) read more

I found what/WHO I need to solve my on-going dental issue!! Dr. Diaz "listened" to my frustrations of a food trap, and how I have sought previous care for it with 4 different dentists. After her examination, I offered my optional procedure... and she agreed with me! Although her office did not provide that procedure, Dr. Diaz referred me to a specialist on her team. I don't write reviews much, but I had such a disheartening experience at this office that a review seemed necessary. As a new patient, and prior employee of a prestigious dental office, I expected to receive top-notch new patient care. Not only did the office staff cancel my first two scheduled appointments and failed to call me back to reschedule, but they were anything but friendly when I arrived for my appointment and they communicated with a complete lack of enthusiasm or professionalism. Office staff did not greet me, get to know me or try to make conversation. The dental assistant and x-ray tech/front office manager lacked patience: both stormed out of the room when I questioned a policy, and were both extremely condescending and short with me when I needed a cup of water, and for the duration of my appointment. Providing exceptional customer service is an easy task. Dr. Diaz's office staff needs serious training in how to communicate with people on a personable and professional level. On a business note-- it is customary to encourage patients to schedule a follow up appointment prior to leaving the office. The only effort her staff made to me was "give us a call". Not very business-savvy in trying to keep your clientele consistent. On a positive note, Dr. Diaz is quite friendly and engaging. FUCK this place. They rescheduled my appointment the first time WITHOUT EVEN CALLING ME. I found out it was rescheduled after trying to check in. Then they called and rescheduled me a second time over the phone, pushing me weeks out again. THEN they called and rescheduled me AGAIN another couple weeks out. Then by the time I got to come in for an appointment, they didnt do ANYTHING to my teeth because I was pregnant and they said the clearance letter I brought in from my OBGYN wasn't good enough. The front desk staff is rude and lazy and the dentist and dental assistants are mediocre at best. If my insurance covered ANYWHERE else without out of pocket copays and costs for fillings, I'd be there in a heartbeat. Look for ANYWHERE else besides here if you can. Should be ZERO Stars!!!! Where do I begin? When I moved back to Sacramento last year I had to change the Dentist with our insurance plan. I kept getting several solicitation letters in the mail from Dr. Friz Diaz and since she was on my kid's dental plan we chose to go with her. I called the first month to make an appointment for my kids to get their teeth cleaned. The receptionist told us we were not on the Health Net list, therefore they could not help us. I called Health Net and they assured me we were most definately on the "list". This went on for about two months before we could get in. When we arrived for their appointment, they refused to clean my youngest son's teeth because he had braces. My older son said all the Dentist did was poke around and take x-rays. They never actually cleaned his teeth. About 6 months later, my yougest son's orthodonist needed an xray of one tooth to see how it was progressing. I made the appointment with Diaz's office and when we went in I was chastized like a small child. Dr. Diaz began interogating me as to why this x-ray was necessary. She continued going into a rampage about how our orthodontist must be incompetent for not having his own x-ray machine. Then her front desk staff took over where Dr. Diaz left off, speaking to me as if I committed some cardinal sin for requesting an x-ray for one tooth. The receptionist's tone was very superior, extremely rude and condescending. I have never, ever been spoken to in such a manner, especially by individuals that are supposedly in a professional field. Our orthodontist who has been in the business since the 70's basically said anyone with two hands can clean someone's teeth with braces. Dr. Diez is the most aggressive, unprofessional and incompetent "dentist" I have ever come across. She had no clue what service she was going to give me and had not even looked at my chart, even though she saw me last time. I asked her what tooth she was going to look at and she immediately said "I don't know" in a very condescending and rude way. She asked me to tell her what to do. I reminded her that she was supposed to narrow down some teeth because I had dysplasia and asked her how much she was going to narrow down. She had my xrays sitting right in front of her and still had no clue how she was going to proceed. After that I asked her how much she was going to narrow down she absolutely blew up. I said, well I'm just asking because I thought you would know (I thought to myself, she's the expert right? Not me). As soon as I asked that question, she absolutely exploded and said "This situation is really upsetting me!!!!" I was completely shocked at her response and told her I was simply asking because I am interested in my health and that she should be able to answer simple questions. I actually tried to calm her down. She went on to complain that I had way too high expectations and that she no longer felt comfortable. And that all of my questions were making her upset. I was like, what???? Nothing that I asked was out of the norm so it was completely surprising to see her response. Didn't she go to school for this? If she feels incompetent maybe she should find another field. Wanting her patients to have low expectations is pretty lame and pathetic. As her patient you're basically not allowed to ask questions and if you do be prepared for her aggressiveness and lack of knowledge. At the end I actually felt very insecure and told her I would be leaving. Her attitude was so off the roof she seemed like she was literally loosing it. You simply cannot trust your health to someone so incredibly unprofessional. read more

I must admit I almost chose another dentist because of the 3 bad reviews on here. I am so glad I didn't listen. I have terrible dental phobia but because I now have cavities on my eye tooth and the one next to it, I had to suck it up and go in before I no longer had the teeth. I was embarrassed to even open my mouth, but from the minute I walked in I was treated with respect, Dr Diaz and her team were so professional and kind. I want anyone who's reading this to really listen to my words, especially if you have phobia. Dr Diaz was the best dentist I've ever been to. Kind and sweet, I hardly felt the 3 shots, she knew Exactly what she was doing. very honest too, she said although Very close to needing a root canal, were going to see if I can get it all and cap it, which she did!. I'm going in today for my permanents and for the first time in 30 years, I'm not even nervous. Also, she charged me half of the price my step dad just paid for the same procedure. If you have not gone to Dr Diaz because of the 3 previous reviews I would just say make a appt and see for yourself. read more

Absolutely horrible! Find a new dentist ASAP!! I went in to get a partial crown and it fell off a week later. I went back in and they tried to put it back on a few more times with the same results. They redid the entire procedure and this time it stayed on for a whole 6 months. I ended up going to a private office and getting it done correctly! I called in to make my son an emergency appointment and they were able to schedule him for the following morning, except when we got there the next day, they said he was not on the schedule! Do not waste your time. Worst Dentist ever! I went to her office while I was going to school for Dental Assisting. She made me feel like a pea with her rude personality. If you're on Medi-cal, brace yourself!! She will make you feel like a worthless human being. She is not compassionate nor does she have any "bed side manners". I took my 4 year old daughter here for her first dental visit and she loved it. She was a little scared going into her appointment but the dental assistant Gabby was wonderful. She explained all the tools she would use and made my daughter feel comfortable. She took her time and was patient and gentle. This is big because I've gone to other dentists who were rough and harsh with my other children. Dr Diaz was also very friendly to my daughter. Where do I start! First off l typically do not write reviews and I generally try not to complain but this is by far one of the worst, most unprofessional offices I have ever had to deal with. I called Dr Friz Diaz office and schedule an appointment for my children only to find I have a two month wait. No big deal right? However when their appointment time comes we go there only to find that there office is closed and not open that day. (I never received a call that they would be out.) I call the following day only to receive attitude from the receptionist and her to argue with me and tell me she did call me. Which I tell her if she did why would I have showed up if I knew they were closed! This is a Monday appointment. So I have my children rescheduled for that Friday. (Wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt). Only to receive a call from them on Wednesday telling my "We are cancelling your Friday appointment since you filed a complaint against us. The doctor does not want to see you!" I would not recommend this dentist. I never even got the chance to get in the door and had one of the worst experiences ever. Very unprofessional. Absolutely a great dentist. Like the other more recent reviews, I am so glad I did not listen to the earlier negative comments on yelp that seemed more like personal rants than objective critiques. After going to several other Drs. I finally found Dr. Diaz. She was able to restore my teeth even after another dentist told me it would cost several thousands of dollars,only to later tell me I would have to go to an oral surgeon. Dr. Diaz repaired what the other Dr. told he could not. Also, I am deathly afraid of numbing shots. I had to have several from Dr. Diaz and I hardly felt them. I have never had an injection hurt so little. She is very gentle but very good at what she does and I now have the smile to prove it. She took the time explain things to me so I could understand and I was very comfortable with her. I'm so happy with what she did for me and I highly recommend her. read more
