We were given a call on a Friday afternoon for an opening the following morning, confirmed details with the woman who called, and arrived to a separate woman downstairs saying the appointment was cancelled because we didn't answer. Wtf? We spoke to her because SHE CALLED US. I'll never forget how sad and disappointed their patient was driving home and listening to them sniffling and fighting back tears.

However when I explained that my concern was for my daughter's throat pain (my daughter sings) and the fact that she could not swallow without pain, the person who answered the phone suggested we make an appointment with their Nurse Practitioner. I agreed. That first contact with Sutter proved to be fortuitous. My wife and daughter (she is 15) were amazed by the facilities and staff of Sutter East Bay. Then they were wowed by Nurse Korshak's matter-of-fact, direct-to-the-point questions that came one after the other, clearly boring in on the potential issue causing my daughter's pain. My daughter loved her and my wife was so impressed with her that she asked me to find a doctor for within the Sutter East Bay organization! Eve made the diagnosis, prescribed the meds and within a day the pain was relieved. By the end of the week, all symptoms - fever, pain, etc. -- were gone. Amazing! We've been back to her since for other issues that have arisen. Each time, her professionalism was exceeded only by her apparent and obvious caring attitude for my daughter. And anyone who treats my baby right is TOPNOTCH in my book!!

I encountered an environment that was unprofessional and lacking in basic respect and kindness. Despite my ability to work well with a wide range of personalities and teams, I was met with hostility and poor treatment by members of my department. I believe everyone deserves a workplace culture rooted in mutual respect, and that was not my experience here. That said, I walked away with an important lesson: some situations are not worth fighting for, and protecting your own well-being must come first.

This is such a difficult job, dealing with patients who quite often won't be around too long, but the nurses, assistants and doctors all tried everything that my insurance would approve. There were a lot of times that treatments or procedures were denied. My wife's cancer was vicious and aggressive. She tried every probably every chemo or immunotherapy on the market, did radiation multiple times, did infusions, had surgeries, and they always did their best to keep her truthfully informed, and keep her spirits up, even when the news wasn't good. Now my wife generally hates going to the doctor, but a trip to Diablo Valley was more like talking with friends for her. Now I will say to ask questions, and get all copies reports for yourself, so you can go home, and read and learn about what is happening. I think it was difficult doing this, but made everything make sense about what was happening. When you have a little knowledge about your treatment and conditions, the decisions are much easier to make in my opinion. I will miss my wife more than I can explain, but I truly believe they did their best to take care of Jerusha. Rest In Peace.

Rather I'm writing about my HORRIFICALLY traumatic experience with one of their therapists. After a total of two sessions with a therapist they attempted to have me 51/50d after they failed to threaten and coerce me into hospitalization. Somehow the police department of Walnut Creek were more friendly, understanding, and more human than my assigned therapist could ever wish to be. Too long don't read: This location has no regard for their customers or their mental state as evident by their ratings and reviews. STAY. AWAY.
