I found this town centre restaurant to be a rather nice choice for dinner. I was staying at the Goldener Knopf and this was a convenient walk from the hotel. Bad Säckingen is a lovely town and this place benefits from its ambiance.
It was about 8 PM on a Sunday night when I tried this restaurant. It was not particularly busy so finding a table was not a problem. The ambiance, while not elegant, was very comfortable and low - key. My server attended to me right away and did an excellent job during my entire visit. He was polite, efficient and unobtrusive while making sure I had everything I needed.
The menu was definitively Italian/Mediterranean and offered several good choices. I settled on the Tuna Steak, which was served on a bed of risotto. It was very nicely done and quite tasty. The tuna steak itself was sizeable and the portion of rice was more than I could eat in one sitting. I certainly did not walk away hungry. I finished with a coffee, which was also rather good.
The prices were not unfair. For my food, drinks and a small tip, the final bill was €38. For the type of meal I had and the quality of the food, this was OK. I certainly could have eaten significantly cheaper if I had decided to go with pizza (for which they had many good choices as well). But my choice was definitely satisfying, as it turned out.
If you find yourself in central Bad Säckingen for dinner, I think most people would find this establishment to be a solidly good choice for a meal.
