This is the worst Michael's I have ever been to. The layout is strange and confusing, and doesn't follow the pattern of other Michael's stores. Some of the aisles are even set at an awkward angle. They rarely have what I want in stock. The bargain section is cramped and always disorganized. Worth it to drive farther and go to a different location if you want something specific. read more

I visited this Michaels location for the first time Friday night in hopes to find Halloween supplies. Upon entering, I noticed how odd the layout of the store was. It was really off putting compared to the countless other Michael's locations I've been to. It just didn't flow well at all and I ended up staying in one part of the store because the rest was so weird. Besides the layout, I was surprised to see that they're already putting Christmas decorations out and there was half an aisle of Halloween decor leftover. I asked where the Halloween baking supplies were and they told me that the one aisle was all they had, that their location didn't receive much Halloween stock. Have we forgotten that Halloween is just as important as the other holidays? I was in this michaels for maybe 10 minutes and left. The employees were nice but the actual layout and supply was horrible. I'll never go back to this location again. read more

This used to be my go to store but recently noticed some changes. I had to return some items I bought for a project that I didn't end up using. There was an issue with one of the items but I did have a receipt so I don't understand what the problem was. I felt that the Manager was condescending and rude. I over heard her giggling about me with another employee after the fact. I will bring my business to Hobby Lobby in the future. read more

The customer service in the store is terrible. Without really thinking about it, a "custom framer" told me I should just buy an off-the-shelf shadowbox. She acted as though I was bothering her to ask for custom framing. When I complained about it to the manager, she said she was right -- buy a shadowbox. Further, I strongly suspect she turned down my request for custom framing because the item had a star of David on it. I don't like to look for anti-Semitic people, but I think I found one there. Went in today and the customer service was so awful I felt I had to walk out. I asked to have a large canvas taken down for me as it was too high to reach without a ladder and the older man who "helped " did so very begrudgingly and proceeded to walk away as I tried to ask him a question afterwards. Just very unpleasant and odd. The employer also wore his mask below his nose...he was a little scary and very strange. will never be returning to this branch. read more

I've called this place a half an hour before I got there. Coming from far and once I got there they were closed. Yes that upset me. But what upset me more was the way the manager there handled the situation and all the people outside wanting to get answers. I understand we're in a pandemic, but doesn't give the right for a manager to be nasty and disrespectful towards customers. read more

I have always loved Michael's and I was thrilled when the store opened in Wilton! They opened several years ago and have improved in certain areas: staff is friendlier & more knowledgeable, and the shelves are better stocked. I am a scrapbooker and I can always find the items I need; craft papers, glue, stickers, cutting tools, embellishments, Cricut accessories, Sizzex accessories, storage cases, stamping tools, inks and many more. But that is just for my hobby. There's a plethora of craft items for all kinds of crafters & artists: painters, jewelers, bakers, decorators, knitters, sewers, woodcrafters, photographers. There are also craft kits for children. The store offers birthday party packages for children. Choose a theme, a craft, bring your cake/snacks, and Michael's takes care of the rest. I had a party here for my daughter several years ago and it was fun, well-organized, and memorable. I especially love the heavily stocked store during holiday seasons: Halloween/fall; Christmas/Hanukkah/Winter; Valentines Day; Fat Tuesday; St. Patrick's Day; Easter/Spring/Passover; Patriotic days; Mother's/Father's Day; Summer. We had a great experience with Shenique in framing. We came in pretty late at night, close to closing, with two pictures to custom frame. Shenique was patient, honest with her opinions, helpful and had great suggestions. She even went above and beyond to call the Chicago store for us to check on an old frame that we had done to see what the specs were so that we could try to match it. I stopped in to purchase a cake caddy and cake circles. I've never shopped at Michaels before but I got a 50% coupon vaild for one item per visit. I thought is my opportunity to visit. I was told at check-out that the coupon is good for the higher price item. My coupon was scanned and "accepted". However the discount was not applied. I was then told there is currently baking sale "buy one get one 50% off" and that probably canceled my coupon. What??? I was then asked if I wanted to return the items and they can try the coupon again. But be warned the return price for the item is NOT the same as the purchase price. Again, what??? This is BAIT AND SWITCH. I kept my purchases simply because I did not want to reward Michaels further. I will not be returning as any kind of customer. I'm not one to go to crafts stores and this was my first time in this Michaels. I asked if I could split a purchase up into two purchases because I needed to use different cards for both, and the guy behind the register said, "Well... ok." After the first purchase, I noticed a 40% off coupon printed out, so I asked if I could use it with the rest of the purchase. Instead of telling me that I couldn't because it wasn't good until next week, he responded, "I don't know, does it say you can use it this week?" I told him that I didn't know, and that if I couldn't use it, he could have just told me instead of making me feel dumb for asking. "I suppose that's true" was the answer I got. After the second part of the purchase, I told him that I felt like he was incredibly rude and that, even though this was only my first time at this Michaels, I wasn't going to return. Weird vibe in this store; went again recently. No staff in isles to ask for help. Coupons have gotten tricky--so many conditions.

I've seen a bunch of negative reviews for this location with regard to service. My experience was different. I walked in and needed help with paint supplies and frames. A very nice salesperson helped me. She was knowledgable, offered excellent suggestions (some of which cost less money) and even gave me a piece of cardboard that I could use to properly prop up my canvas with a stand. I thought her level of service deserved a glowing review. read more

I will never go here again. I stopped in to have something framed and encountered the rudest person in the framing department. The customer he was working with at the moment did not look happy - I'm sure he was probably as rude to her as he was to me. It's a shame since the other employees in the store were quite pleasant and I love Michael's but after this trip, I will never shop there again.
