This is the worst Managed Art store I have ever been to!! I have no idea why is so hard to hire someone that actually knows what they're doing!!! That's has the knowledge and experience to fixed the logistics of the store, inventory and the why's to then be able to manage and make that store what it should be, being one of the 2 art supply stores in the whole area of Wilmington!! This is the worst Michaels Store I have ever been in. The shelf's are almost bare. No staff working on the floor either.I have gone to this store multiple times and it's always been the same. I have been in this store twice this week and have been treated very POORLY by the manager and front desk clerk/cashier. It is unfortunate that this is the only craft store besides hobby lobby to shop at. The items in which I was looking for this store had them, but to ask for help, it is like PULLING TEETH!! I would honestly save your time and go somehwere else. I came in hoping to find some crochet yarn and crochet hooks and there was practically nothing on the shelves, I couldn't find the yarn I needed and what I didn't find was messy and some falling out of the packaging, I couldn't find any crochet hooks, I tried looking for the eyes you sew in for crochet projects and the one I saw didn't have the price on the shelf. I went in today to purchase some beading. The sale is for Online Only and they will not honor sale prices if you are physically in the store. Why should the Walkin consumer be punished and pay full price for an item they are discounting anyway, but reward ONLINE ONLY buyers. My husband and I have both been hung up in THREE times now. This was a take out order that turned delivery. We placed an order for our children while at a marriage retreat. We ordered at 410PM tonight it is now 710PM and the full order is still not been received and we paid for it. Their excuse is they are BUSY. However my friend who picked up the order said NO ONE was in the restaurant except employees. That's not my problem when the order wasn't fulfilled right the first time and it is VERY unprofessional for employees to hang up on a PAYING customer. We have several friends who own businesses in town and lived in surf city for quite some time now and if this is how locals and tax payers are treated we will be sure to let the community know how you treat your locals and your customers. So unprofessional of your employees to not handle a complaint professionally and toss the phone down and we hear her say I'm not dealing with her you deal with her. THREE HOURS FOR TWO CANNOLIS and all they can say is the driver is busy. This is NOT our fault. And literally we are within walking distance of the store and should've been made a priority when it was YOUR ESTABLISHMENT that made the mistake. Neither of our teens drive and I'm NOT sending them out after dark. How disgusting how employees act and I've heard the manager is no different. I will make it always known to locals like us and tourists that your establishment could care less about their customers or their children. Oh and FYI I have a video of your delivery driver being rude to my autistic son and basically flicking the bag at him. His body language in the video says it all. Don't even deserve one star!!! ADDED just found out that the guy who talked to us was the MANAGER!!!! Rude and definitely doesn't need to be manager. I do & I don't Does this make sense Ever since they merged with AC Moore They have so much products they can't put it all in the store 90% of it is online Yes online Which means you have to get things online We found out if it NOT on the shelf then it NOT in demand and they won't carry it on the shelf ever and you will have to order online thru their website. And no they don't ship to store which is even more dork in my opinion they don't save the customer on shipping at all. This is why I only give this company this score the company. But I do give the store a better score maybe a 4 because they revamped it and cleaned it up and rearrange it and carry more things and some better things since merging with AC Moore. Prices have gone up as well so make sure you use those one coupon that they offer on the app. Sign up on the app or save the circular from the add! Or sign up for the newsletters and get the coupons. The people are nicer which I have noticed also.they got rid of the college kids and got older people in to work which have personalities and I like this since we are in a college town- Don't get me wrong at times I found college kids can be rude or they will snub you being an older person. Especially when your doing crafts they have no patience to help us to find little things that we are looking for something small, or something specific or special. Older or middle aged people working in retail understand this concept very nicely. I like this and for this I give them a five stars on that ! Corporate needs to take a closer look at how inefficient they are. Do not get your artwork framed here. They punctured my canvas painting while it was in their care. I waited unitl they had the custom frame ready for them to frame it because I didn't want to leave it there for two weeks. I left it on a Friday so it could be framed over the weekend in a floating frame. I got a call on Monday and they told me they had damaged the painting while framing it. They said it was NOT a hole but that the screw caused the paint to crack. Melissa apologized and said they would refund me the cost of the framing. I needed to see it to examine the truth. I went in that day to get it. Hannah told me it wasn't that noticable (oh really?) and that the paint was just cracked. I took my finger and examined the canvas and showed her the hole. It wasn't cracked paint, it was a hole. They shouldn't lie. To minimize the damage was stupid. I'm in the process of trying to repair this painting now for a show I have to have it for in 2 days. I commend them refunding me and apologizing (that's the minimum they should do), but don't lie; it just looks bad. They're lucky I'm not a hothead. I know mistakes can happend but this was a careless amatuer move. I save my rants for the internet. If you don't want to gamble with your artwork take it elsewhere for framing. read more

I really enjoy coming to this particular location. They're extremely close by my current address so that is also a positive. Every time I have been there, whether if it's for my own art supplies, craft things for my nieces school projects, or frames, they have it. Each Michaels is different. This one carries a good line of basics, But the focus on scrapbooking and paper arts seems to ebb and wane (making me nervous). They always have a good collection of beads and basic old skool stuff like woodburning tools, paints and brushes.. I particularly noted today that there was plenty of staff asking if they could help me, however there were two long-azzed lines at check out. Annoying. The staff was new and noticeably VERY friendly. This is a bit unsual as they were often unengaged and borderline hateful here. There was one young woman here who was particularly nice to everyone...genuine, and not robotic. We frequent Michaels in jacksonville so when in Wilmington we decided to swing by and take a look. We found different products here and enjoyed looking around. Love this store! They always have really good sales and a coupon floating online. I can honestly say this is my first stop for craft supplies! They have a huge flower selection for wreaths and tons of photo frames. Most of the younger staff is very nice the older they get in staff the more grouchy they get. read more

The quality and selection are poor. You are better off driving a little further or ordering supplies online. I have asked employees for assistance finding something and met with blank stares more often than not. I was looking at matboard and noticed many of them were damaged. Beware! Sure there is a lot of stuff and some of it is nice but don't buy there unless you are very sure that is what you want. Look at your register receipt and you will see two prices, (one in parentheses). That price is what they will give you back if you need to return it.
