Michael's is great for all your crafting needs, even the needs you didn't know you had. I always end up with more projects than I ever follow through on. Generally, I find this location to be well stocked and organized. I've found that I can usually find everything I need, but sometimes prices are higher than at other places. The convenience of getting everything I need in one place rather than go to three different stores, sometimes outweighs this dilemma. However, in order to get what I need and leave without extra potential projects I utilize the online order and pick up. This has worked out well for me. I appreciate the self service pick up. Once I figured that out, I was a happy camper. The customer service at this location tends had been better than some of the other locations, in my experience. Happy customer! read more

Asked a sales woman to help me locate a product which was not on the floor and she promptly went to the back and brought out a box to replenish the stock. They have some great deals here. I. LOVE. MICHAELS. Noah Fence (lol) to Hobby Lobby, but a lot of their stores are hit and miss, both in layout design and stock. All Michaels are consistently clean, easy to navigate, and generally well stocked, and the location at The Rim is no exception. I was able to stock on on the small bottles of acrylic paint--enough to garner a sizable collection to start up some projects, at $0.79-$1.99 a bottle. Not too bad, not too bad! I can also stock up on canvasses here, of ALL sizes! I've purchased some medium sized ones, and two long ones for projects. It's great to just paint my feelings into an abstract piece and then throw it up on your wall. read more

I went to buy some cake supplies and there was a sign posted for Wilton fondant and "NEW Prices " plus it says you can use with your coupon. They did not honor the pricing on the sign. And were really rude about it. As it is they aren't honoring competitors coupons and hardly have a 40% off. Looks like hobby lobby and Joannes has my business from now on. We love our little neighborhood Micheals!!They have everything one desires for a fun day of crafting!!! They have this great printable vinyl for making designs for water bottles, wall art, stickers or anything else you can imagine. They have the neatest line of paint markers, stamps & cool watercolor swirl design books that allows one to have fun & just be creative. Recently we bought their bath bomb kit, which we really enjoyed. We made some fun rose & teddy bear bath fizzies too. I'm looking forward to experimenting with the Porcelain clay & clay to make molds that I purchased on my last trip there. read more

Very disappointed in this location. Very lazy cashiers and not willing to help at all. I was told that a purchase wasn't eligible for a return, I went to another location and they were happy to help me and return my item. I wouldn't suggest to go to this location for a long shopping trip, because if you need any assistance the employees will act as if you just asked them to complete the most difficult task in the world. Best location is off of 281/1604 FYI --they have 5 star employees and a store that's very organized. read more

I am very frustrated. I needed to purchase flower for staging. I asked the associate if they honored coupons from Hobby Lobby & she said yes they did. At checkout the manager would not honor the coupon for $10 of $50 purchase from Hobby Lobby website. He said they would not honor it because the items I purchased were on sale. The coupon clearly states it is $10 off $50 INCLUDING regular priced AND sale items. Grrrrr you either honor the coupons or not. I e never had this issue at Hobby Lobby not Joann's. I went in the store 30 mins before closing looking for one simple item and I was met with staff members who had attitude and were rude. I asked one woman a question and she didn't even bother to stop and turn toward me while I was talking she just kept walking. They have the worst return policy. We had a friend purchase an item for us. We decided to return the item for a refund or store credit. They refused either option and said the credit would need to go back to the original credit card. We even had the original receipt. This is such a poor experience. read more

I brought a frame and a very valuable print in to the store at the Rim in San Antonio today about 3:30 for proper framing instead of doing it myself. A very professional young lady with long Auburn hair was super helpful, cheerful, insightful and patient as I chose how to package the print. This Michaels is okay, but I think the one at the Quarry is a better stocked store. I often go here when I am at the Rim or LaCantera to buy crafting supplies that I do not need. I find that Michaels has lower prices than JoAnn, so I do frequent Michaels more. I do love the coupons and they help me take home more Martha Stewart stuff to spend time doing crafts rather than work. read more

They offer 10% off to educators. There are so many things to look at and they always have sales. I never go without the coupon from the Sunday's newspaper. I was a bit disappointed today though with the customer service. There were 2 cashiers and about 5 people in each lane with full baskets. It took about 15 minutes to check out. There were 3 other employees in the front as well doing returns. I thought, "any minute there gonna see the long lines and jump on a register," but sadly that wasn't the case.
