My husband gifted me an hour facial session with the aesthetician. It lasted 45 minutes, and throughout the entire 45 minute facial she tried to upsell me other services and products. Laser treatments, chemical peels, hair removal, face treatments, etc. I came here for a facial my husband got me not to be harassed to spend $500 on other treatments. she went as far as telling me I have dry skin to influence me to purchase another service which is pretty rude and a lie considering my skin is dewy and soft. I was uncomfortable for most of the service. It was difficult to enjoy the facial because I was continuously pressured to purchase higher priced treatments. Instead of a calming experience, it felt more like a consultation for upgrades I didn't ask for. The aggressive upselling overshadowed what could have been a relaxing appointment. read more

I have been going to Michael's salon for the last 6 years, it is truly the best salon I have been to and I have been everywhere. All over Rockville Centre, Long Beach, Merrick, Oceanside, Bellmore, Garden City, etc., you name it. The salon is clean, very nice, recently updated, and making an appointment is easy. In short, you don't have to jump through hoops to get an appointment then sit in an over-crowded salon. It is a comfortable and enjoyable experience. As far as my personal hair experience has been there, I have gotten nothing but compliments on my hair whenever I get it done. Irina has colored, highlighted, done a keratin treatments, cut my hair, put in extensions in, done up 'dos and blow outs, so I have had all the services you could imagine and have always left VERY happy. I also have an extremely sensitive scalp and at all other hair salons I have gone to my scalp with burn when it is colored or highlighted, but Irina is able to do it without causing the burning and discomfort. On a personal level, I can't say enough about Irina, she really cares about her customers and always goes above and beyond to make people happy, even coming in early or staying late to fit you in for an appointment. I have seen her interact with so many people over the years and all of them seem to love her. She remembers everyone's name, always remembers little details customers may have told her, she is truly a genuine and sweet person. The poor reviews here don't really make sense, having been a customer for many I have seen MANY customer interactions and those are definitely not the normal situation at Michael salon. I wasn't familiar with the area so I started walking around and stumbled into Michaels salon I spoke to a women that does facials their her name was Albina we spoke a good amount of time about my face she recommended a lot of stuff to help my skin. I made an appointment with her and after a week she did my facial. She's amazing honestly very warm and smart she can give u varieties of different advices about skin, pimples, rashes,scars anything u have an issue with I personally think she's amazing! went to this salon for over a year because it was local to my house and i tried them once in the past and hated my experience, but because of the connivence I decided to try the salon again. Big mistake the main woman that runs the place I guess she is what they call a manager tries to scam her customers, even her long term customers. After being consistent with my root and color touch ups I obviously knew the price every time inside and out, so it's a little silly to play the customer but it gets worse, she tried to do this three times by adding things to the total price that would change all the time. when I finally asked why I'm being charged 50.00 more one time and 100.00 the next she didn't have a answer no copy of reciepts nothing. Lucky for her I had the price from my bank statement and brought it in to her she had no idea what to say and said she charged me for straightening my hair , with a flat iron 50.00 have you ever heard of this before?? It sounds like I'm making this up but I'm in fact so serious it's scary that people could actually think they could get away with such a terrible crime. She told me if I come back she give me 5 off a service how that makes up for spending all the extra money she charged me over time. I have no idea.. there is no way I could ever trust her or the sketchy salon again or even want to take such a change. I actually felt robbed after being such a good consistent customer that's my reward. So I have not returned since then and never plan to again, once a liar always a liar. The lady that runs the place is too caught up with getting money right away and doesn't care about keeping long term customers. I went to get my hair colored and she charged me 25 dollars more than what she advertises. She also made me get some type of deep conditioning that she said I had no choice but to get and charged me 25 dollars more for that as well. I left with wet hair because she told me I had to keep the conditioning in as long as possible. When I washed my hair and dried it the results were horrible. I had spots of uneven color. I should have known when I was getting my hair done that it wasn't going to come out well. She was asking the other girl who seemed to be one of her workers how to do things and the girl kept telling her "no do it this way". So I went back in and complained and she said she would fix it. She blow dried my hair after wards and I was able to see that the spots were fixed, however, it is still completely uneven. I did not want her to touch my hair anymore so I just left it and am going to go to another place to fix it. She also tried to charge me for blow drying my hair when I left. I refused and walked out. Horrible experience and she has no idea what she is doing. Please don't waste your money or time. I also have never made a negative review before but I really don't want anyone else to experience this. read more
