I was looking for a place to eat on the way home from Toronto and I've been here before. Generally the food is decent. This trip I got the hot beef platter that comes with fries, onion rings, and soup/salad. The beef sandwich was good, but had way too much gristle in it. It felt like I was eating pure fat every other bite. I was so disappointed in the fries and onion rings; it seems that they threw them into the fryer while the oil was still getting to temperature. This completely saturated them with oil and it felt like I was drinking it. If you're in Sundridge, give the place a shot, you may enjoy it, but I probably will not be going back there. read more

Surprising find in the Almaguin Highlands. Good food, huge portions, attentive service. Will be back for Father's Day.

The best restaurant north of Huntsville. Large bistro style portions. Locals on fixed incomes might think the prices are too high until they see the portion sizes. This is the only restaurant I recommend to friends who come to visit us in the Almaguin area. read more

This place does awesome food, it is a delight to find a skilled chef in a small friendly local place. We have dined there several times. I would really recommend the squash stuffed ravioli dish. The salad bar is fantastic. My only complaint is sometimes they are not open, so you need to get their hours as it is a bit of a drive. Don't miss picking up some sausage at the German butcher across the way ... his stuff is great too. read more

We went to this fine restaurant for dinner this evening on the recommendation of our B&B hosts. We were surprised to find the menu prices were as high as they were but the amount and quality of the food was remarkable. My wife is allergic to oranges and this was conveyed to our server in no uncertain terms right at the outset. My dinner arrived with an orange slice right on top of the food and while my wife's dinner had no visible oranges, the chef would not guarantee that no orange or orange juice had not touched her chopped salad or the chicken wrap she ordered. He even suggested that my wife should not be going to restaurants AT ALL due to her allergy. He tried to ameliorate the situation but she could not take a chance so she refused her meal. While they did not charge us for her meal, we will never recommend this establishment. read more

We went to this dining room on the recommendation of one of their employees. My husband had fish and chips and is still raving (almost puzzled!) by the excellent taste. It's the best he's ever had. I had the butter chicken with several accompaniments, each one as delicious as the other. The prices are certainly above those of a chain but you get double the amount of food, soup and salad included with each main, excellent service and varied menu. I can't wait to return. read more

We were staying at a cottage in town and lost power in a thunderstorm, it was getting late and weren't sure what to do food wise. We called Michael's and even though it was very near closing time he agreed to stay open for us. Very tasty food, amazing service! (extremely accommodating given allergies/ restrictions). Would love to come again if in the area! read more
