Eat The Art - I made this macaron all by myself at home thanks to Heather!

I've always wanted to learn how to make macarons but the process seemed intimidating and the cost for classes in my area is high. When my friends proposed this, I couldn't believe the value. We had a hands on class where Heather taught us the best tips and tricks to tackle macarons at home. I left armed with a box of tasty treats (that I made!), detailed recipes, and so many great pieces of general baking advice. My baking has improved already. I would have given Eat the Art 5 stars if my experience had ended with just the class. But now that I have lots of time and nowhere to go, I decided to put my skills to the test. I made macarons at home! Heather is obviously an artist and you will definitely want to do as she says and "eat the art." If you're looking for a girls' weekend activity or something fun for a bachelorette party, you will not regret taking a class at Eat the Art!

I had the opportunity to spend three mornings in a row with Heather who customized my learning experience while I was in Nashville having traveled from Cleveland. Heather shared that she works with students of all levels and at no time did she make me feel that I didn't belong. Future Nashville trips will always include a visit to Heather's kitchen!

Their prices are competitive, I'm not sure if they have coupons, they definitely had sales. I'd checked out the website prior to going and they have a good selection of classes too which is great for a newbie quilter like me. My mom and I went during the week so I can't speak to how busy they are on the weekends but we were there with maybe 10 other customers? There was plenty of staff around and they knew immediately if SG stocked the collection(s) I was after. When I brought my fabric to be cut the ladies were again helpful when I was trying to choose a neutral for my quilt. They helped me answer the age old question of gray or cream (gray won ) and then started cutting the yardage for me. They snip the fabric and then rip it, which seemed aggressive hahaha, but it prevents the fabric being cut wonky. I'm not sure I like that but it makes sense. As we checked out, the staff made some suggestions for tools that might help me and I was very happy with my mini-haul. The only thing I was surprised by was their lack of thread . They had one little stand but not many colors. They still get 5 stars because I'm guessing the serious quilters that come here probably have a thread stash, my MIL can piece a quilt top in a day and she could start her own Aurifil store. I'll definitely be back and hopefully take a class in 2025! Check them out!!

We loved every minute of it!…read more I bought two groupons for this place for a night my fiancé and I get bored and can't find anything to do. So on Monday, we finally decided to go. At first he wasn't thrilled about the idea but I forced him to come with me since I didn't want to waste our tickets. The class starts on time and 3 hours later, we were sad it was over! My fiancé actually got into it! They walk you through all the steps so there is really no way you could mess the painting up. It's not meant for artists. It's meant for people who've never painted before. Our instructor was really enthusiastic and was VERY patient. We had an older woman sitting across us who was over thinking and kept asking the instructor to fix her painting. I was annoyed but the assistant and the instructor were so patient and kind to her. You can bring alcohol so that obviously made it more fun for us too! this is such a good date night or a night with your friends. Check their calendar and the time allotted for each painting because the time it takes to finish one varies. It also gets really busy on that street so get there early! Eat somewhere at Lenox village instead. Traffic around that area is horrible! Great great experience! We loved it!
