The two technicians showed up on time yesterday (promised 9-10 AM) after sending an "on our way" text). They recommended using the pleated filters instead of the blue fiberglass variety. He had a 20"x25" pleated filter in the truck that was a little long for our space. So, he took a pair of shears, chopped off just enough, and used the cardboard form cleared of material to put a border back on! Voila! Another service was cleaning the fins (?) on the outdoor compressor. After turning off the power outside, he used a hose to flush out the accumulated detritus in the unit. Our system is back to working great again! I had a chance to speak with one of the brother/owners, Paul, this evening, to share my feedback on the service call. Sounds like a very nice guy. I thanked him for their well-trained techs.

Fast forward several months and all of a sudden there's a scary water stain on the ceiling in one of our closets. Our TPO roof is pretty new and under warranty, so I called our contractor. (Besides Duke City, we've had no work done up on the roof since moving in.) He immediately asked if we'd had a new AC installed because someone left a bunch of screws near the unit and stepped on them, leaving punctures in the TPO. Because it was damaged by someone else and not something naturally occurring, the repair is not covered by the warranty or insurance. I contacted Duke City with the all the photos and my invoice. I hoped they would help with the cost of this repair, even just partial help with it, but they've essentially said too bad so sad. My fiancé and I are getting married in May and money is tight. Now we have a fast spreading water stain with mildew and a new leaking roof that's damaged by a company that won't take accountability. I know it took a while to notice the damage, which was their excuse for not taking responsibility, but I find that incredibly disingenuous to say "sorry you didn't notice the pinprick holes we left in your roof fast enough". Sorry we live in the desert and it's just now monsoon season so it's the only time we'd be able to tell. Save your money and sanity. Choose any other company to do your heating and cooling.

I got a response from about 5 HVAC companies with three with estimates for their service. I chose them for being the first to response with a reasonable estimate and I called to set up an appointment that will work around my work schedule. They were able to work with me to provide a good date to come out and do their service. The day of the appointment, the tech called me that he was on his way within the appointed time. He did show up early and he did his HVAC service in a reasonable amount of time, about 15 to 20 minutes. He told us what he did and I paid exactly what I was quoted in the estimate, plus tax of course. I passed on to him to add me to their 6 month preventative maintenance schedule to do our AC service in the Spring. Overall a great experience with this company as the tech was friendly but professional.

We have been here 6 years and the house is 18 years. We've never had our A/C, furnaces, and fireplaces checked so we were doing preventative maintenance and ensuring our systems are not producing carbon monoxide. Daniel got on our roof and checked both A/C units. We had a broken switch, broken contact, and 3 capacitors that were below spec. Replaced with new parts and both units working properly. We also requested to check both of our furnaces. No carbon monoxide and again capacitors below spec, replaced and both units working properly. Daniel checked both gas fireplaces, no carbon monoxide and he showed us on how to turn them both on. Lastly Daniel drained our water heater. We are very pleased with Daniel's work. We are greatly relieved that our major HVAC systems, fireplaces, and water heater are all working great and we are grateful we now have an honest and very capable HVAC systems contractor we can rely on. Regardless of the season we are prepared. Thank you, Cynthia & Bob
