If you don't want to take care of customers, close your business. Taking care of customers means that there is at least 1 employee at the cash registers! That's where customers go to look for help! Also I refuse to shop anywhere that expects me to check myself out! That's your job to provide that service! Shopped for years at Michaels in Corvallis until they refused a.refund of a double charge.to my mom. $300+ for gift cards. Reported in person with proof within two days. They refused to do anything. Credit card company blames Michaels. What a horrible way to do business when they know they double charged a customer. A loyal customer for years. read more

Don't get me wrong this is a great store and I love buying my supplies for my crafts and class room but the workers there are not kind and very rude. I came across one worker who kicked me out the store for "yelling" and being "loud" mind you, I went into the store with my child who was very excited to see so many different things. They kicked me out because of his excitement. This is the first time I've been kicked out but not the first time I've encountered a rude worker. read more

I have been dealing with a scammer who got hold of our debit and credit card numbers. In the harrowing process of closing those accounts and responding to bogus claims, I had the occasion to visit this Michaels. I made 2 purchases and paid by check (thinking that was safe) About 10 days later, I learned that Michaels had sent the checks to a third-party debt collector without ever reaching out to me or my local bank. Today I tried to follow up with the store manager, but I was told he was away and no one was filling in. WHAT? I am more than annoyed to find that a local business so badly treats this loyal, longtime customer (me). I will not be shopping at Michaels anymore read more

The framing department did a wonderful job gluing large picture collages to foam board for my husband's celebration of life. The manager of the framing department did a beautiful job of trimming the foam board to fit the collage posters. Only leaving 2 stars because one worker was nice. Other lady was blatantly rude and just made me use self check out. She refused to help me when I asked a question and also refused to check me out at the register, and made me use self check out. read more

We frequent this store often and the issue is with customer service. I can rarely find an employee when I need assistance and when I do find an employee, I get told they'll send someone over to help but help never comes. Today, while waiting in line to checkout... I noticed the long line was due to the one cashier assisting a couple at the self checkout. Not a problem at all as the self checkout can be confusing for some. However, instead of asking for help at the front or having them go to the front counter where she could just ring them up herself, she told every other customer in line that they could utilize self checkout themselves. This resulted in the line just growing more. It's frustrating when you're just needing to get in and out and the one cashier at the front isn't even checking others out. read more

I came in to get a package and they were RUDE, unhelpful and just wanted to argue with me instead of help me. I will not EVER shop there, pick up a UPS package ever again. I also filed a complaint with UPS. Our city is small and Brink and Mortar stores are going away, the last thing you want to do in this smaller city is to drive your customers away. read more

I normally love michaels, it is very cheap and usually has everything I need to get crafts but I was very disappointed when I walked in yesterday evening. I needed help finding twine for a project I'm doing for my classroom and the employees seemed to be running from me so they didn't have to help me. When I finally found one they were chatting with another employee and seemed upset that I pulled her away from their conversation and very rudely and sarcastically directed me towards the twine. I then went to checkout and I overheard a conversation between the cashier and another employee (who were talking while there was a line of people waiting to be rung up and only one cash register open) where they seemed to be talking very judgmentally about the previous costumer. The staff is always extremely helpful and nice- instead of pushing some ridiculous survey (claiming "just satisfied is considered a failure" wtf??) they should pay their employees more. Love the employees, not so sure about whatever weird power trip management is currently on.. maybe they need to unionize. One star docked for megalomaniac management. read more

I'm not exactly a crafty little lady, but every once in a while, I get a bug in my butt and want to try to do SOMETHING. Michael's is usually a great place to go. Prices are a bit high, but they've got all sorts of stuff to keep you busy on a rainy afternoon. This Michael's was way better stocked and organized than most I've visited (which isn't saying much I guess), but I was able to find what I needed, it was on sale, and there was lots of floor staff to guide me in the right direction. read more

Even though it's a chain, it is worthy of a review. Michael's is my last minute go-to for cupcake supplies, or craft projects. They have a huge store, lots of choices, and there is usually a sale going on. There is a serious lack of local customer needs however. All of their stores get supplied from a central ordering system. So, if Corvallis was REALLY into beading, no luck getting anything outside of what they have in. They also never re-up holiday supplies, so if you want to buy something for an upcoming holiday, my advise is to do it at least a month before!
