One of my most favorite craft stores to shop at. They always have what I'm looking for and everything is organized. You can go on to their app and search for an item and it will tell you what isle inside the store the item will be in. That makes it so much easier to find what you're looking for fast. I also love the fact that they will stack coupons. If you have a store coupon and an email coupon they will let you use both of those. You can use anything off of the website for a coupon also. read more

I got some of the best customer service I've had in recent memory at this store today. I needed a four-pack of foam boards, and experience had taught me that this item could be hard to find. So I made a quick call to the store to make sure it was in stock before making the drive. I was quickly transferred to the head of that department, who went and checked, then told me that yes, they were in stock, and quoted me the price. After arriving and finding my pack, I made a point to ask if the woman stocking shelves was the same woman I'd spoken to on the phone. She was, and I thanked her for her help, and we chatted for a bit. She told me she was glad I found everything ok and asked if I came to the store often. I told her that I generally make it to Michaels once a year when it's time to enter my state fair photos. She told me that she shops there even on her days off. At checkout, the pack rang up for higher than the quoted price. When I questioned this, the cashier not only made the point to check the price, but found a coupon, making it cost even less. Everyone I dealt with at this store went above and beyond, all for a once-a-year customer spending less than $10. I'd highly recommend this store for the customer service, non-crafty though I may be. read more

I've spent a fortune in here over the past week. I'm creating an Alice in Wonderland themed secret garden in our backyard and it's been my go to place for craft supplies. I've bought paint, wooden signs, stencils, brushes, paint pens and who knows what else. They have a good selection and usually have good coupons online to help defray the cost. I have been to many Michael's Store across the states. I love this location because of the employees. They are very knowledgeable of their products and they know which isle you can find that particular products. I found everything I was looking for and experienced great customer service. Some time it is great to purchase something whole sales on line but if you calculate the shipping and handling and time it take for you to get your products, it might be better off shopping local. If this place had a bad customer service like the one in Tucson, Arizona, I would definitely shop online. I would definitely go back there again for my ongoing project. read more

"I believe excellent service is a duty, not a choice." Worst customer service ever. They told me they were the expert in framing. Then when they make a mistake it's the me the customers fault. Ordered a $335 frame and they blamed me for the frame being the wrong size. I gave them the measurement two different times. There expert said he needed to make it 1/8 bigger. That caused the frame to be to large. The resolution was to offer to charge me $75 more for a filler. When I refused to pay any more they gave me a refund and kept the frame. I waisted my time and energy dealing with this company and will never have anyone in my family to shop there again. The store managers name was Kim Morison.The store manager was rude and when I got upset with her she acted like it was my fault she was rude. The lack of good customer service in this company is why I will be taking my business to Hobby Lobby. read more

If I could give 0, I wouldn't even give that many. Horrible. I went to this location one night and was there about two hours until closing. I realized I did not have my debit on me, I only had a $13 gift card. I have severe memory loss because I have non epileptic seizures. Sometimes I can't even remember my mom's middle name or people. The cashier told me they could hold things for 48 hours. Delighted I chose to hold my things. Well the next evening I was really busy and couldn't make it back to Indiana (I live in Louisville, my parents live in Southern Indiana). So I decided to go to the store on Outer Loop. But then I realized that the merchandise is very different. I shopped for about two hours and bought a big basket and an orange wooden crate that were 50% off but I wasn't too sure about among several other things. I wasn't completely sure what I had hold at the other store but I knew there was a lot there that I wanted. The next morning I got up and I went to the Clarksville location. I decided to take back the basket and crate and I had two bags of other things I thought I might not need because there was so much other stuff I wanted at the Indiana location. I was there pretty early so I walked into the store and asked the cashier if I could take one of their shopping carts outside to gather my returns. She said yes. So I gather the basket and the crate and two tied bags of other merchandise. Now the basket was so large it took up most of the cart and I had the tide up bags inside. With non-epileptic seizures a lot of the times I forget to buy things or I buy two of the same thing because I don't remember what I have bought or what I need for a project. I see the manager her name is Kim and I asked her if it's okay if I continue to walk around the store with my returns. It helps to look at my returns and list. She, Kim the manager comma says yes as long as I have a receipt for those things. I walk around for a long time and keep the basket open and put some new merchandise inside. There was no room in the car and I figured it was okay since it wasn't in the bag and it wasn't on the receipt. Finally Kim the manager approached me and said I think it's about time you're done. Shocked I went to the checkout line. I went to the checkout line until the cashier at I had to make the returns or exchanges for the new merchandise. At this point Kim the manager says no you walk in the store empty-handed. Enraged I told her she had to check the store the tape . She said we saw you filling up that basket the whole time . I said I don't have a receipt for these things so I thought it was obvious that I was buying them. She says well this would not have been a problem if you would just left it in the front of the store. I don't work at Michaels I don't know store policy like she should I asked her if it was okay she said yes and now she wanted to accuse me of stealing or trying to steal I was dismayed if I would have tried to steal I think I would have kept the basket closed it was wide open either way she continued to say she wasn't accusing me of stealing but when I brought out one of the bags it fell apart and she said yeah probably because it's been used four or 5 times. I told her that she was accusing me of stealing she denied it but it was and was rude in front of other customers. She was so incredibly rude I said that I would not be back to the store even though I love the Michaels in Indiana her response was and I'm sure we won't miss you. I don't understand what it is that made her think I was stealing or was going to steal but it was very obvious that that's what she was thinking . I'm 28 years old and I run my own Furniture business and Michaels has been my go-to for a long time I have spent so much money there. I do look younger still no one deserves to be treated like they are stealing. After she looked at the tape and saw that I did bring in the basket she still did not apologize for anything besides saying I didn't bring in the basket I don't understand how a manager could be so rude but at the same time I could care less because I will never ever go to that store again I took back all of the belongings that I bought at Michaels every single last one and I went to Hobby Lobby and Walmart. Oh and Jo-Ann's . never in my life will I ever go there again. Maybe they should hire some kind of security so management doesn't look like a total lunatic accusing random faithful and loyal customers. I heard the cashier in the very beginning at one point so she does have a receipt from last night so obviously Kim was telling the employees to watch me. Oh and one figurine I got in the Louisville location the night before she would not take back because she said it was distressed and damaged. I think that's the look the store was going for. Be forewarned - this is a store where the management believe their time is more valuable than yours. To explain - over 10 people in line with one register open - the manager stood by and watched while a lady near the back of the line put back her items and left. When asked about it - response was 'don't care' 'so what'... Such a shame that a great store is marred by this terrible attitude in it's management. So - be forewarned that you may have to WAIT to spend Money in their store but they DON'T care. read more

I just had a picture framed there experts they are called. Do Not Do It. Terrible work! Broke the glass, broke the frame and told me me some story about the frame being inferior and it was plastic. It is 3"wide wood frame and I carried it in a woman and didn't drop it and break it. They had to carry it 3 feet to the work table. The only offer was they replaced the glass with plastic which looks terrible and the mat was cut too small so there is a gap at the top. If they didn't or couldn't do the job why didn't they call me and cancel. read more

I'm strictly reviewing the birthday party option at Michael's. I reserved a room for a Saturday for my 5 year old, about 3 weeks in advance. The evening before the party I received a call from Michael's asking if we were still on for the party. I stated yes. The day of the party we arrived and were told that they had no host for the party and were going to give us an employee who had never hosted a party before. Needless to say, it was an AWFUL experience. The host just stood there with her arms crossed and I had to do ALL the work. We chose aprons and were never given full instructions on how it all worked so we were surprised to find out they had no ready-made kit for the aprons, we had to purchase every item separately including the glue, stamps, and paint. If I had known about this I would have purchased a better (more thought out) selection ahead of time so that it didn't look as though it was all thrown together at the last minute, which is how it seemed. I was a bit embarassed. I have photos of the "host" standing around with her arms crossed. What a terrible experience for my daughter's birthday. read more

I love all Michael's Locations, from Hurstburne in Louisville KY, Veteran's Pkwy in Clarksville IN, and mine in Elizabethtown KY. The one in Clarksville is the newest location of all it has the best lighting of all locations. I think what hurts the other locations is they put so much above the shelves that it blocks the direct lighting. read more
