The size of this store is HUGE!! It's almost like stimulation over load!! ..... almost! Everything is in order and organized though so that also is a plus! Restrooms are clean and odor free ! Terrible experience. Won't be back: 1. Cashier was lazy. Would only help me if I had exact change. Sent me to use self checkout and immediately started helping the customer behind me in line and did not offer help or solutions, so I left. 2. Told manager. Got a sorry - not sorry response. She apologized but obviously did not care 3. Called customer service number and got an offshore agent. Connection was bad. Agent's English is so broken it was hard to communicate. Also appeared not to be very competent. Conclusion- the company does not value customers. Employees don't honor customer time. Not returning. Will buy at Joannes or Amazon in future because my time is too valuable and gets wasted here. read more

A bit of an older location but it's in a newly revamped area of Altamonte, so the overall vibe is getting better and better as time goes on. This strip mall use to be a dead zone back in the day and luckily it has been revised here recently, which is great since it has always had so much potential to be awesome. The store itself is clean, well organized, and stocked to the brim with pretty much any craft necessity you could ask for. Keep in mind, that like most of its sister locations, they do not carry sewing accoutrements or machines on the whole. They have an extremely limited supply of anything sewing related. My go to is always the paper and embellishment aisles, and then of course looking through their seasonal decor and craft items. It's further away than other locations, but when we are in the area I know I can stop off here and get the same items I get from the sister stores. Overall: A Good location for the chain, same problematic area of not being able to find customer service other than the register, but if you know what you want, no big deal! read more

I came here tonight after looking at their inventory online. "In stock" it said. I should have called but I decided to trust the website. My son really wanted the original Rainbow Loom kit and the website said it was on Clearance in aisle 54. That aisle didn't have the rainbow loom stuff-- it was 59. The kit "in stock" was out of stock. They said to not trust the website as it's not reliable when updating OR there may be a discrepancy due to theft. My kids chose two tiny items and one person was in line before us. I'm not sure what she was trying to buy or do- but it seemed as if the card reader wasn't working OR she just didn't know how to insert a card to pay for her things. My children and I waited in line for literally what seemed like 15 minutes. I feel like they should have called someone else up to at least check us out. Unfortunately, we didn't have such a great experience this evening. The only positive thing was that I had a 40% off coupon. read more

I visit this location frequently and I find something useful each time. Michaels is almost always running some type of sale, a lot of times 50-70% off of select items. I'm an avid arts & crafts/DIY-er (I watch YouTube for an hour and SWEAR I'm an expert at whatever subject at the moment) and this store is my go-to when I'm working on one of my projects. I love that the store is always clean when I visit and I'm never tripping over boxes or items strewn about the aisles. My favorite of the local area Michael's because of the excellent customer service. Today was an excellent example. The item I was purchasing rang up at full price, which happens occasionally, even though the sign on the end cap display advertised 50% off. The sweet and friendly sales person believed me and was willing to credit me the price discount without any issue. Since I also had a 50% off one regular-priced item coupon, I volunteered to use that instead. The cashier also told me she would check on the sign (or have it checked on) to make sure it wasn't on the wrong display, preventing issues with other customers misunderstanding. When everything goes right, I am happy with this store's typical friendly service, but I really believe that the true nature of the customer service reveals itself when something goes wrong. Niceness and respect are obviously ingrained in this store's culture. Of note, few staff work the floor so if you need help have the cashiers call for someone to save time. After 6 try's to get a buggy whose wheels worked and didn't lock up I finally found a buggy I could work with. I also spoke with 3 other customers whom were having the same issues. Stumbled into this Michaels the other day just to browse around... love arts and craft stores. I have been to many Michaels all across the country, and this one is staple franchise just like the others. If you have been to one you have been to them all. With the exception of cleanliness or staff issues from store to store. I found this store to be very clean and well organized. The staff was super friendly and greeted us when we came in, and was also our cashier on the way out which was also a great experience. There was a lack of floor staff, but I am sure they were somewhere around being busy bees. I didn't need help with anything, but usually I see floor staff around every few corners. There were a lot of sales on the art paint supplies which made me happy. I love sales, and Micheals is always having something on sale. Wound up grabbing a few items. Overall its a great place to grab your craft supplies as they have a wide inventory of things from yarns to beads, to paints, and kids supplies, even frames and will frame your art for your... yay. read more

I am having my wedding ceremony in about 10 months so I will be frequenting Michaels a LOT in the coming months. Yesterday I needed White boxes suitable to ship. They had 2, and I needed 6. The girl that I grabbed from what she was doing (I was a little rude) first ordered them, but when we realized they wouldn't show up for 3 weeks... and we (I) decided that was way to long to wait, she checked all the stores around. She found my my boxes and put them on hold for me at another store. My point is, she was really nice, went out of her way, helped me get what I needed on MY timeline. You can't put a price on that. I'm not huge in to the arts and crafts but I find some really cool stuff here for doing special gifts for my family and stocking stuffers too. If you look carefully and collect the coupons you can usually get some amazing deals on a variety of crafts. My favorite stuff is watching Froggy Stuff on YouTube then watching my family replicate stuff they find at the store. Really creative! I guess my only complaint is that the store seems to be so small. It doesn't seem to fill a lot of space. This is a brand new Michael's store on the corner of 434 and 436. This store look over the space that used to house Borders. The reason for my visit was my friend's children were having a birthday party here. Did you know Michael's does kids birthday parties? Neither did I! There is a good sized craft room at the front of the store. There are several tables with chairs and the walls have windows. The staff led the children through a craft but then when there was down time the staff just kind of hung out in the back of the room while the kids went crazy. I ended up escaping for a walk through the store. I must say I was expecting more. Even though the store was new it looked unkempt and disorganized. Packages on several items were torn or missing pieces. I ended finding my son a few small items then waited for what seemed like eternity in line. There were only two registers open and one customer was doing returns with a stack of receipts an inch thick! Employees should have called for backup after we waited for over 10 minutes. The store does offer crafty classes, some of which looked interesting. In particular the cake decorating and painting classes might be fun to take with a girlfriend. Times were limited though (Cake 1 was ONLY offered on ondays from 6:30-8:30pm). I was told that every 3 months or so they offer a class for half off. If you're interested I'd keep an eye out for the sale. For most classes materials are NOT included in the fee. They are offering fun looking kid classes over the summer. Too bad they are always in the mornings. The classes are obviously for stay at home moms. read more

We don't make it out to this Michael's often anymore because it's just so far from where we live, but it is one of the ones we do really enjoy in the area. It's always very well kept and has a nice selection. The store layout is quite different from almost all of the other Michael's we go to. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. Seasonal items are always up well in advance for your art and crafting plans. Don't forget to use the app, as there are always coupons available to bring down the cost of most of what you could want to look for. Their Custom Framing Department in the back of the store is all so much nicer than what I've seen it most of the other locations. Overall, we like this one a lot, and recommend checking them out. read more

This location I do not know if it's all michaels but they are way understaffed or just unhelpful, it's almost impossible to get help to find what you need to find and if you do track down someone like I did when they came out of the break room and we're going to the cash register fast walking they don't know what they are talking about, so anyways it's just very hard to get help here. read more

My wife and I are big fans of the new location, as it seemed to give Michael's a chance to get organized a bit better, making things a little easier to find. Their sales, combined with coupons they put out, can make for some great buys if you are patient. Overall, the store is quite nice, and the employees (at least when we have been the last few times) are always walking around looking to help. It definitely doesn't hurt that it is now located quite close to Joanne's Fabric, so you can go back and forth between the two to compare both similar and different items that each store carries. read more

So easy to find and get to! I go to Michael's for various projects. Currently I'm working on re-doing old shoes and decorating them! I probably went down almost every aisle, but as I went I'd get more ideas and also spot deals or sales for cheaper ways to do things. This store requires lots of patience and sometimes a good eye to spot clearance items. They didn't have the brand of fabric/shoe dye and paints that I wanted, but I was still able to find tons of great things. This is a great place to start for any DIY project! read more
