The doctors recommended a high dose of Zantac to be taken three time a day, which ended up having cancer causing ingredients. With her help ... My GERD is under control. My last endoscopy/colonoscopy results were great! My doctor was actually amazed. Instead she spent the appointment telling me that in order to heal I needed to turn to a higher power and telling me about her relationship with god even though I'd already told her it made me uncomfortable. She also spent the entire appointment judging and psychoanalyzing everything I said to determine whether or not I actually wanted to heal in a way that felt narcissistic and dehumanizing. I said that I was uncomfortable and I left. THIS LED TO HER CONTACTING MY EMPLOYERS, SHARING MY PRIVATE HEALTH AND PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH THEM, AND VIOLATING EVERY BOUNDARY AS A HEALTH PROFESSIONAL. There is no circumstance in which it is EVER acceptable for a health provider to reach out to someone's employers without consent. No one should trust this woman with any sensitive information. She is NOT trauma informed, has no boundaries or ethics, and shouldn't even have a license to do whatever the hell it is that she does. My bosses were so uncomfortable with her behavior that she is no longer even allowed to step foot in my place of work where she was once a regular.

The door to the center is located next to the Prescription counter at Hannaford. it's the one at 900 Central Avenue. It's free to join and most of the classes are free as well. The programs are underwritten by Hannaford supermarkets, CDPHP and the YMCA. It's brilliant. By keeping people healthy we can reduce the staggering costs of medical care and health insurance claims. There are also free courses on healthy eating run by Hannaford nutritionist Fran Weiss. You'll find the staff very supportive. The classes are fun. The majority of members are seniors, but they make everyone feel welcome. If this is a template for fitness, I hope more centers like this one will spring up across the region!

Located inside Hannaford, you'll find a small, supportive, comfortable place to start working out. To get started with your free (yes, free) membership, just bring in an ID and the person at the front desk will get you all set up and ready to begin your fitness journey. The gym itself has some resistance based machines (If you've ever been to Curves, think of that) if you would like to work on strength and several choices for cardio, including a bike, treadmills, ellipticals, and a rowing machine. And, don't worry; the people working there will help set you up on any of those machines. If doing your own thing isn't your cup of tea, the Healthy Living Center also offers many classes throughout the day and evening, some free and some paid. You can check their schedule on the website and sign up 2 weeks before a class beginning at 8am for the free classes (they clearly label the paid, more advanced classes, which are often around $7/class - so very reasonable). There are spin classes, zumba, HIIT, circuit classes, urban fit, and more. Options are also available for personal training (fee). Instructors are great at providing modifications in classes so that all ability levels are able to participate. The reason I've been a member here for more than three years is partially the amazing instructors, like Regina, but also the amazing community of members the Healthy Living Center has attracted. You'll be welcomed and supported; you'll also find yourself among a diverse client base. People of all races, sizes, ages, and ability levels use the gym here. I honestly can't say enough positive things about this beloved little gym and, guys, it's free - you have absolutely nothing to lose by checking it out.

I reached out to Debra after discovering my infant daughter had a rare food allergy condition…read more Before knowing a single thing about us or even scheduling an appointment, she called and told me I'm feeding her the wrong type of yogurt and that I should be giving her soy yogurt; She then told me she had never heard of my daughter's condition (which made sense since she had just told me to feed her one of the TOP trigger foods to AVOID with her condition). When I decided to see a pediatric gastroenterologist instead, Debra ridiculed me and said the doctors will "not do anything" for me and tell me there's nothing wrong with her and send me right back to her for nutrition advice. She also told me my daughter's pediatrician wouldn't know anything and would be of no help to me. She said she had done "a lot of reading up" on this condition (keep in mind she had never heard of it 24 hours prior) and that "it's really not a big deal" - (Yes, she really told me that my daughter's severe food allergies were no big deal). When I continued to say I wanted to cancel the appointment, Debra then told me I need to be careful because I am going to create negative food associations for her and I am going to project my own anxiety onto her which could result in eating disorders. My daughter is NINE MONTHS OLD and I'm literally just trying to figure out what foods she can safely eat. Debra's unprofessionalism and ignorance was absolutely astounding.

When I requested a refund, it took me a YEAR to get it. After initially agreeing to check her books and send me a refund, she stopped replying to any communication. I had to ask my insurance company to reach out to her, and afterwards, she finally called me. Then, she agreed to email me a check, but she completely misspelled my name (odd considering it's in my email and my file) so my bank wouldn't accept it. When I requested a check with the proper spelling of my name, she LOST it. She told me I was a horrible patient, worst she ever had, and she never wanted to see me again. It is illegal for a healthcare provider to withhold any over payment of your balance. Yet, Debra had the unmitigated gall to talk to me as if I was an ingrate for requesting what was rightfully mine. I'm not a greedy person, and I always treat my elders with respect, so I was a bit disgusted by her outburst. She was trying to shame me into letting it go, but all I felt was embarrassed for her. At that point, I let her know that I would file a lawsuit in small claims court if she didn't give me a refund. Sure enough, I got my check a week later.

I am still, after a year on no medication at all, feel wonder, and have no more fear of the consequences of high blood pressure. Mr. Guarino is forthright, puts you at ease and has changed my life. When I met George, I was impressed with how professional, talented and compassionate he was; I immediately was put at ease. He listened to my sweet-tooth struggle and subsequent weight gain because of it. Honestly after my first session with George, desserts and nightly ice cream became a thing of the past. I don't crave or even think about them, they truly are a non-issue now! Why didn't I try hypnosis earlier?! It's been 2 months now and even more importantly than losing weight (hooray), is the feeling I am now in control of my eating options. I'm eating both healthy and smaller portions at meals, and drinking more water, all with the gentle suggestions of hypnosis. You get what you pay for, and I feel like I've struck gold. Thank you, George!
