Ok. I left another review for the dental work that I had done, but now i need to comment on what…read morehappened to my husband... This dentist pulled a tooth for my husband and left a piece of the tooth that became infected. He had to go to an oral surgeon elsewhere to have the piece removed...this cost around $4-$500 and a lot of pain. Then, he sent my husband to have a root canal done on another tooth....a 2 hour drive from where we live for a cost of around $1500. The root canal failed, (tooth should have been pulled) and now he has to have that tooth pulled due to infection. The cost for that is yet to be determined. Think before you use this dentist!

Being new to the area, I had to find a new dentist. This was the worst choice ever! I had a…read morecleaning and a cavity filled. I had no previous pain or trouble at all until after I entered this dental office. I have not been able to chew on that tooth now ever since I let this dentist touch my tooth. I stupidly returned to him to "fix my bite," which he then proceeded to drill on the tooth above the affected tooth, which I've also had pain in for years now, ever since the day he touched these two teeth. I have 28 normal teeth, and the only two teeth that I have pain in everyday are the two teeth that this dentist worked on. Facts: NO pain before Dr, Ambler. IMMEDIATE, NEW pain on the only two teeth that he touched. Hmmmmm. Go figure. Not worth taking the risk of going to this dentist for anything! Find another dentist!

These folks changed the date of one of my appointments because they had an earlier opening. I…read moreasked if it wask OK for my insurance, told yes, and then of course, it was too early. Like others have said, they make mistakes that cost their customers money. Not just the above, but a filling went over, and have the technician not stopped the dentist IN THE MIDDLE OF MY APPOINTMENT I would have been out of pocket thousands (was still out hundreds). And they simply waved both cases off as "too bad". Of course I paid up under protest both times. Will not be back there. Stay away.

STAY AWAY!!! "Hiawassee Family Dental" has good people but is an awful business and a terrible…read morecompany. The company makes mistakes that cause financial burdens, then they shift said burdens onto customers. My main complaint is that they failed to disclose their financial model and fees I would face for my dental treatment. They "forgot" to give me a treatment plan, hence I never signed one. Once the treatment was partially over, I was presented with a $3,000 fee that almost single-handedly depleted my annual dental insurance balance and I still owed $1,300 out of pocket. I asked if we could discuss the fee and if I could pay it later, and was told "no" without any consideration for which payment options were available to me at that time, and if any. Even Dr. Lauren Hargrove eventually said they had dropped the ball and made a mistake, and they should have disclosed how much my insurance and I would have to pay. On January 16th I paid all outstanding fees but let everyone know that I had a complaint letter with me. Then their manager (Sarah?) said she wouldn't sign and acknowledge it but would make a copy of it and call me back within the next 2 days. Never happened and it's been 2 months. On January 24th I sent a certified letter with my written complaint which was then received and accepted by "Hiawassee Family Dental" the next day. Giving an official response shouldn't be a problem for a business, especially if they think they are right, but nothing either. Every single time I would come for a visit at the exact time of my appointment, I would have to wait for about 20-40 minutes. How is my time less important? We all make mistakes, and it's ok. It's how you handle them makes a difference between a good business and a bad one. Please don't bother with a generic reply that some improvements have been made, it makes no difference until this outstanding complaint is addressed. My tooth has never fully healed, so after spending $3,000+ on it, I am potentially facing a $5,000 spending to replace it with an implant.
