I had to take my dad into his doctors appointment bc of his lab work, the doctor needed to see him right away. So I called and canceled ( guess I should of just been a no show) anyways Clarissa answered the phone and I told her I needed to cancel she told me the vets office prefers that we Cancel 24 hrs in advance! WELL smarty pants I didn't get a 24 in advance phone call from my dad's doctor office dummy! Anyways, I try to explain to her bout my last min situation. She literally cuts me off and says " have a good day" . I don't know how I hear about the vets being caring and genuine and u have a person on the phone that's rude & cuts you off instead of showing empathy. 1-29-25: My cat of 15 years passed at home…read more After about 6pm I was crying and still had her body in my arms. I called and they asked if I needed someone to come out and put her down. I said no, she already passed and I still had her body in my arms and was calling about cremation services and how much it would cost. The person on the other line went silent. I kept saying hello, hello for awhile, but realized they disconnected the call. We went to Cedar Veterinary instead and took her and paid for her cremation. Not a good way to handle a call after a person's pet has crossed the rainbow bridge.

I brought my dog, Peaches, here after she had already been seen by two other veterinarians the week before. The first vet prescribed antibiotics for what they believed was an infection, but after several days there was no improvement, and she began having bloody discharge. I then took her to another veterinarian, who referred us to an internist. They suspected a foxtail may have somehow made its way into her vaginal area, but after not finding one, they worried she might have a polyp or even a mass that could be benign or cancerous. Needless to say, I was terrified. As soon as I got home, I started calling the internists they recommended, but unfortunately, the earliest appointment I could get was a week away. In the meantime, the bleeding became worse, so I decided to take Peaches to the ER at Fresno Veterinary Specialists. It was the best decision I could have made. From the moment we walked in, everyone was kind and welcoming. We waited about an hour or two, which I completely understood, knowing there were other pets in need of urgent care. Once we were called back, the technician took the time to ask questions and gather information. Shortly afterward, Dr. Randy came in. He was thorough, compassionate, and genuinely concerned about Peaches. He explained what he thought might be going on and recommended sedating her so he could get a better look. I'm so grateful he did because he found a foxtail deeply embedded in her vaginal wall! He removed it, sent her home with antibiotics, and, to be safe, recommended that we still keep our appointment with the internist. Thankfully, the bleeding stopped the very next day and has not returned. Peaches is now back to her sweet, happy self. We did keep the appointment with the internist, and after examining Peaches, they agreed that no further procedures were necessary and that she appeared to be in good health. I can't thank Dr. Randy and the entire team at Fresno Veterinary Specialists enough for the exceptional care they provided. They gave me peace of mind and, most importantly, helped my sweet girl get back to feeling like herself again. Thank you all so much!

I…read morerecently brought in my dog in the middle of the night and clearly stated to the front desk that my dog was struggling significantly and believed she was possibly dying. They then spent the next portion of time asking about my flea and tick routine as my dog struggled to stand up. They did get us into a room and someone in scrubs came out to the waiting room to walk us to the room so I was initially grateful but that soon turned into disappointment when the person just opened the door sent us in and walked out saying they'd be in but it would take awhile. Again, dog clearly in distress no one in waiting room. We waited and waited and waited and waited and about an hour into the wait no one had come into the room to even take her vitals to see if she should be waiting that long. The whole time I could hear the staff at the front desk laughing and joking with one another etc. it got to the point where there was no reason to keep my dog there waiting in distress when she could at least have the comfort and smells of her home or try to get in somewhere else. I ended up helping my dog off the floor and walking her out. Not a single staff member addressed us or seemed to even give a flying rats ass we were there or randomly walking out. We were able to get her seen at a different clinic which took her immediately, ran blood test - determined she had total kidney failure and mercifully put her to sleep. I will never step foot in Fresno Vet Specialty again as far as I'm concerned they are the worst of the worst.
