My husband went for a first time appointment. The staff was awful. They took his vitals and left him in a room for 2 hrs . No one to come check on him or follow up on a timeline . After 2 hrs when he went to ask if there was a timeline they told him they didn't know . He left . He waited less time at urgent care !!! read more

I've never had any physicians that I would consider to be derelict in the duties, but I've had a couple that left me cold. Dr. Silao is a WONDERFUL physician. He's friendly, kind, and thorough. He takes his time in explaining things and answers as many questions as you have. My blood pressure actually drops when I have to see him. I understand the frustration of waiting for your primary care physician to get to you as soon as possible as I have done so over the course of my 71 years of existence on this planet. I have seen it all since I worked as an IT person in the health industry as well as in corporate and small business environments. I easily remember waiting an average of 45 minutes to two hours to see a physician with whom I had an appointment with. No surprises there. It was the norm. What I have come to appreciate and understand is the level of attention to detail that a physician can offer their patients if they are not pressed for time. People are individuals with individual characteristics whether they be physical, physiological or psychological. Thus, the time spent by the physician on a patient will vary from person to person. I do not expect any physician to allocate a fixed amount of time to any patient. Medical physicians do not and should not run an office like an assembly line dental one. Over the decades, I have worked with many physicians. You get to know those who are compassionate or pure business. Dr. Silao has so far been the most attentive and thoughtful internist. Both he and my cardiologist have been incredibly supportive on my road to arterial health. I have a major amount of blockage but he and my cardiologist have kept it well under control to the point where a recent Angiogram resulted in a "no intervention necessary". I ended up not needing a stent, a balloon, or a bypass surgery. Dr. Silao spends time to carefully go over any test results I have had as well as assessments made by my other physicians and physical therapists. He listens and goes over my own notes about my personal health regimen. He makes recommendations and allows me to research alternatives to better deal with atherosclerosis. I actually feel guilty if I think I am spending too much of his time so I try to minimize my discussions. He is that great a listener. I hope others who have experienced the excellent care of Dr. Silao will also add to these reviews. read more

Save yourself from the incompetent of this doctor's office. They show no compassion or urgency for their patients. I had a fracture in my hand that was diagnose by urgent care. The physician at urgent care strongly recommended I see an orthopedic for further treatment. For me to schedule an appointment with an orthopedic I need a referral from my primary. The following day "Thursday" I had my appointment at Dr. Silao office. They agreed I needed to see an orthopedic. The doctor assured me they would submit the referral and told me to allow a day or so for the referral to go through because of the weekend. Following week on Tuesday I called my insurance provider to follow up on the request. They had no record of the request. Called Dr. Silao office and I was told the request was not submitted. That it would be submitted the following day because the person that submits the request was out of office. I could not believe this was the response I was receiving from a medical practice. After being persistent I finally received the referral. Sadly, this office does not place their patients first. Consider my review prior to selecting them as your primary provider. read more

Dr. Silao is the best and most professional doctor I have ever had. He is widely knowledgeable, taking time to fully assess, does not rush and offers excellent advice. A visit to a doctors office is not one most people like to take but even his office staff - led by Susie - made you feel welcome. That was then, this is now! Sadly, she has retired and the front office difference is noticeable - very cold and far from friendly. Dr. Silao still gets full marks from me but he would be better off with a change of his gatekeeper. Susie is greatly missed! read more

Dr. Silao is nice and a good doctor in my opinion. But his front desk ladies are totally lost!! Absolute chaos!! Waited for my annual check up appointment for one month, then I arrive, location has changed (it's on W Temple St. now), no update on websites, front desk said they sent letters to inform their patients-I for sure didn't get one. Then they tell me I'm not on schedule (never marked my appointment), not to mention it took about 6 phone call attempts to schedule that appointment-cause they often don't pick up the phone. Also, I come only once a year for the annual, last year doctor didn't even see me, I got his practitioner's nurse, she was super nice, but he could try to make time to see his patient once a year. read more

If you're looking for a doctor's office that will help you get the treatment you need, look elsewhere. It has been a nightmare to try to follow up on my referrals -- first, they were put through to the wrong type of doctor, then no one in the office would follow up on messages that I left, and even if I could get through, no one in the office followed through. I was told multiple times that the staff would look into it and get back to me, but no one ever did. Impossible to get an appointment -- even for an urgent illness, Dr. Silao is booked very far into the future. A totally ineffective place to receive care. read more

I am a patient who's currently in the hospital trying to get a follow up appointment after I am discharged but his receptionist let me know that I can see another doctor because he's to busy. I agreed and then she, names Maria in the chino hills location, was very rude and hung up on me. These people are so unprofessional and I now will take legal action against this office so to the fact he could've help me prevent the surgery I'm about to get. Please Maria reconsider a different field of profession because this my dear isn't your environment. read more

This is one of the best primary care doctors office in Los Angeles! I have struggled for the past 7 years with the lackluster care and quality of experience I had with my prior 3 primary care doctors. I would give them a year or so trial run, and ultimately end up changing my plan or provider to get a new PCP. That all changed when I started receiving care at Dr. Silao's office. Every member of the staff is engaged in the patient ingestion process, from Ophelia at the front desk, the vitals nurses, Mika and the PA staff, and even Dr. Silao are all very genuine, engaged, and caring individuals. They helped me track down and wrangle all my prior records from random doctor visits, got me fast tracked into physical therapy for an accident which I was involved, and even helped me get get my vision plan going so I can see clearly again! I highly recommend this hidden gem of Sunset Blvd to anyone who resides in the Echo Park / Silverlake area. read more

I get that Doctor Silao is busy but what's the point of having him as primary doctor when he doesn't even have time to meet me? I felt really sick so I called him multiple times to see him but he said he is fully booked. I even went to ER so that make sure I will be ALIVE until I see him. ER doctor told me I have to see Cardiologist ASAP. So i begged Doctor Silao to approve any cariologist so that I can get treated or diagnosed but they were freaking keep on saying I need to come in to their hospital first which is impossible since this doctor is freaking booked for like 2 months! I seriously want to warn all of you who read this, If you want to live and get treated do NOT select him as your primary doctor. I almost lost my life because of him. The nurse was super rude too. When he finally had a chance to meet me, the nurse called me 2 hours early and told me "Doctor is really busy today so don't expect to spend much time with him" (notice this is direct quote). I mean what kind of hospital is this? I seriously think my anxiety got so much worse because of them. read more

I find the doctor to be extremely bright. A very intelligent doctor. Unfortunately he does not believe in returning patients phone calls. When he comes in to the examination room, he never seems to have my chart with him. This is very unusual for a doctor not to have my chart with him when he walks in to see me. He has asked me the same question over and over again regarding the surgery I had in 1998. This information should be in my chart. The office staff for the most part is very pleasant and overworked. Sometimes I think morale there is lower than whale shit at the bottom of the ocean. read more

I think I was molested by this doctor. I went in to get my bloodwork done for a prescription I was taking. I didn't mention having any pain in my genitals or rectum, but five minute later he was knelt down examining my penis. He also gave me a prostate exam despite me not having complained of any trouble urinating or any pain. I am twenty five years old. He also examined my feet for about five minutes. The next day I got a call saying that they couldn't test my blood for the thing I asked for because they don't have the machines to do that. I wish they had told me that before the doctor's finger was inside of me. read more

My family and I have been patients here since I was a kid, with the original doctors. Over the years I've seen other doctors elsewhere closer to where I've lived. Though I currently live in the valley, I still prefer to come here. All of the staff, nurses and doctors are very kind. Dr. Silao and Dr. Scott are always patient, listening to all my reasons for coming in, making sure to take their time answering all of my questions. As a plus size patient, what I appreciate most is that my weight is never the reason I'm sick - if I'm here to talk weight they will, otherwise they focus on my symptoms, not my size. (The old doctors here didn't do that.) I don't mind making the trek out here when I'm sick because when you're sick you want family. And the ladies working here, Susie, Ophelia & Maria, have treated me like family for as long as I can remember. read more

Dr. Silao is incredibly professional and thorough. So many doctors just rush through an exam & really don't look at the overall picture. I appreciate that all new patients get a full physical--because that has certainly not happened with other doctors! How do they know what to treat if they don't do an exam? I was seen also right awat by a very gracious medical assistant named Gloria G. She assisted me throughout every problems I had with my insurance and helped me way and beyond the call of duty.
