Mike helped me buy my first home in Long Beach! I wanted a place that was very walkable, had a unique type of architectural style, and located in Long Beach. We eventually found the one and got the offer accepted! One of the pending items I was concerned about was seeing if inputting a washer/dryer hookup in the unit was feasible. We knocked on a neighbor's door who we knew had a washer/dryer installed in their unit. They mentioned that the hookups were already there when they bought it. We are happy to say that were are finally home owners! My husband and I just wrapped up a long escrow that had all the road blocks you could think of which continually delayed a 30-day escrow to a 90 day escrow! Mike did a phenomenal job with helping us navigate this process from the ups and the downs of the transaction. It wasn't an easy one, especially for my husband and I. The biggest thing was that there was just a lot of uncertainty on when we would close escrow. Week after week, it was almost the same update, the owner was still waiting on the City to clear the property of any outstanding improvements that were not up to code from the previous seller. This was a remodeled property which we loved but created some of the issues. The City just kept calling out one thing after another. Almost a never ending list. From additional room, to electrical, windows, to bathroom shower, etc. Throughout all this, Mike made sure we were a priority and always updated us through phone call or text. He looked out for us, making sure we created addendums to the contract so we were compensated for any delays due to seller's behalf and made sure we didn't pay for any un-permitted items and costs associated with those items that seller should be responsible for. He was very detailed-oriented and acted with urgency on sending addendums and getting responses back. He was fantastic with follow up when needing to get a hold of on the listing side's responses. "Mike was amazing! He really impressed us and did a phenomenal job in getting us a new condo! We first met Mike while he was wrapping up his open house in Azusa back in Sept 2016. My wife and I were actually working with another agent for a couple months since then, but were not seeing results in getting our offers accepted. I am super excited about my new San Pedro condo! I was able to get the home that my fiance and I wanted, and can't wait to make it our own and begin exploring the neighborhood! I am a veteran, and Mike helped me use my VA status to buy the home with a VA loan! To share with you a quick success story, the listing agent stated the building was a VA-approved building. Well, after getting our offer accepted, our lender shared with us the building IS NOT VA-approved. That was very frustrating. I worked with Mike on coming up with solutions. I was able to find a company that would escalate the time to get a building VA-approved in 35 days. I shared the info with Mike, and he did a fantastic job on negotiations with the listing agent, to get the seller and HOA to agree to cooperate with the process. They agreed, and that was that! Mike consistently stayed on top of all parties involved on the transaction since we were on a tight timeline to close escrow. Otherwise, there was a $50/per diem for each day escrow closed late. We needed documents filled out by the HOA president for the building to be approved, he made sure he got those filled out by them. He also kept following up with escrow to make sure loan documents were prepared on time for signing. There was a city residential property report that we needed 1 week before close of escrow, he stayed on top of listing agent on that. He met the termite inspector at property when I couldn't be there due to work. At the end, he helped me get the home about 3 days sooner than close of escrow date!
