As with many changes, this one brought both anxiety and apprehension. I was uncertain if I would like the new dentists or how they approached dentistry. I was further stressed by what I would be forced to do if it turned out this change was not one that I could withstand. My stress levels were soon found to be unjustified. While I have had several visits with Dr. Chen, most of my time the past five years has been spent under the care of Dr. Miller. Therefore, this review will focus primarily on him. However, it should be noted that my comments pertain equally to everyone in this practice. After several routine visits for cleanings, it became necessary for me to have a crown which involves needles to numb the area. I have had a lifelong dislike of needles of any kind and for any reason. When I arrived for my procedure a bit early, I crossed paths with Dr. Miller and when he asked how I was, I told him I was stressed about the need for him to numb my mouth using needles. When he heard that, he stopped mid stride and told me that he did not want me to stress while waiting. He led me to the chair and told me he was exceptional with needles and had even numbed himself. I was skeptical. He gave me the first needle as quickly as possible and I very quickly learned that he was not exaggerating. I have never had an experience that was so pain free. This experience, as well as those that have followed have eliminated my fear of needles and injections. Over the years, I have come to trust, respect and admire Dr. Miller's dedication to his craft, as well as his compassion towards his patients. He takes the time to explain what he is doing and why. He listens to my concerns and he answers my questions. He speaks to me versus at me. During a procedure, he will not only tell me where he is in the process but will stop and ask me if I am okay or if I need a break. Dr. Miller is young. Very young! He is younger than my children. He is also up to date on the latest techniques and technology. The practice puts patient care ahead of profit. The office is state of the art. The visits are never rushed. The entire staff is professional, respectful and courteous. Whenever I have had any procedure performed, other than routine cleanings, Dr. Miller or a member of his team has called me to check on my recovery and ask if I need anything. When my wife had some extensive work done recently and had a problem, I called the office after hours and left a message detailing the issue. Within minutes, Dr. Miller called to obtain more details and ask if she needed to be seen immediately or could she wait until the next morning. Dr. Miller is incredibly passionate about his work and compassionate about his patients. He has taken dentistry and raised it to an art form. This change has had a very happy outcome. Thank you!!

Burtonsville Dental Suite's website looked friendly, reassuring, and professional. Despite their reduced hours on Fridays, they were able to fit me in. Sam at the front desk welcomed us and worked with my wife to handle the paperwork and such before and after the procedure. Demary (sp?) prepped me and then assisted Dr. Golden during the procedure. Dr. Golden X-rayed my teeth and then extracted the infected dead tooth. The process was painless and I felt 100% better even after the anesthesia wore off later in the day. Everyone was very nice and Dr. Golden even texted that evening to check on me. Not having seen a dentist in so long, I'll need more work on my teeth and I will be returning to this practice.

Burnsville dental care will not except responsibility for the poorly fitted crown which cost me over $1800. A crown should last anywhere from 10 to 15 years if you take good care of your teeth which I do. I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau I filed a claim with dental negligence I will take them to court. I personally would give them -5 stars if it was available.

The staff is courteous and friendly. They always have all of the latest equipment. Here's a big point. Dr. Drewyer takes a few moments BEFORE greeting you to update himself on your situation. He KNOWS your history. He remembers the last thing in your personal life that you discussed with him. There is never the usual, "Why are you here?" That I get from too many doctors. I highly recommend this practice. Don't be concerned with which doctor or dental hygienist that you get - they are all excellent!

It didn't straighten my teeth, didn't expand my palate, and made no visual change of my appearance whatsoever. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind I was oversold on this item. Dr. Adams told me it would even take away back pain, would improve issues I had with crooked lower teeth, would move the jaws forward and even cause them to grow because of the device. None of that happened. I can tell absolutely no difference in my mouth or my face after taking this, and spending nearly $10,000 on it. I could have easily used my health insurance to get a sleep apnea device that would have done the exact same thing. And I'll add to this the fact that I followed the directions meticulously that I was given. I adjusted it without fail exactly as requested, and it expanded all the way out. Maybe the teeth moved in the gums, but the jaws did nothing. I cannot in good conscience any longer recommend this practice. Dr. Adams is a really nice dentist, and he spends a lot of time explaining things and talking to you. But the result was beyond disappointing, especially with the hefty price tag. I feel this DNA device is hyped and sold inaccurately with promises it cannot keep.

But seriously, he is awesome! I've been coming to Dr. Sheik for over a decade. This is a true small local business. They have a small waiting room with magazines to peruse. His assistant, Maggie, takes care of scheduling and calls to remind you before your appointment. I've always appreciated their flexibility with scheduling. Dr. Sheik is professional, friendly, and courteous to make sure that you are doing okay during the appointment. His cleanings are thorough and gentle. I know some people are deathly afraid of the dentist, but that's because they haven't had Dr. Sheik! He is a five-star dentist and I consider myself lucky to be his patient.

As you can see in the right photo, my smile is much wider and less "gummy" looking. Fine. Somehow, the insurance company did not pay them directly (has never happened in 5 years Ive had this insurance) and so I ended up owing them $651. Due to the pandemic I ended up experiencing a financial hardship but I scrounged to pay them what I could which was $600 (the business manager who contacted me was super rude but whatever). Last month, without receiving any reminders about the remaining bill they sent the $51 to collections. Imagine that: After getting at least $4,000 from me, they send a $51 bill to collections during a pandemic when folks like me are still recovering. They are good in dental work but a little ruthless in business.

I moved to Russett in 2020, and I kept going all the way back to Wheaton for my dentist through 2023. My girlfriend recommended her dentist Colesville Dentistry, and she was right! I first arrived here in May 2024, then November 2024, & most recently May 2025. Wow, this dentist is top notch, blows the Wheaton dentist I had out of the water. The staff is friendly, efficiently gets you in. Dr. Chai, other dentists, & technicians have been friendly doing a great job with the cleanings as well as advise on better dental habits. Also, this is a state of the art dental office. When you are lying on the dental chair, there is a TV screen above you with high definition nature scenes which is peaceful when the dentist isn't exactly the most pleasant experience even with Colesville Dentistry being the best case scenario goes as far as the dentist goes. They have great technology with computer modeling of my teeth & more, which the prior dentist I had fell short. Although it's still not super close to my home, still easier than going to Wheaton and worth the drive. Overall, I highly recommend Colesville Dentistry.
