Based on my annual checkup, my general practitioner had noticed a very slightly positive result for autoimmune disease, so she recommended I go to a rheumatologist to get tested just in case. The copay was $73 (there's no fee if you pay with cash - I don't go to doctors often but I've never heard of a cash discount at one). The staff and doctors are super nice, and it's a nice building. It's adjacent to Culver City, after all. We reviewed my results in-person at the next appointment a couple weeks later. There was nothing indicating I had an autoimmune disease and basically no concerns because I wasn't displaying any symptoms, but they had me book another appointment. I honestly didn't know what I was going for (mentioning again that I don't really go to doctors because don't really have symptoms), but since I wasn't charged for the results appointment for visit #2, I just went with it. For this third appointment, I had to pay another $73 copay and I did bloodwork again. I was given my results over the phone this time. And then a fourth appointment was scheduled for a few months later. However, I've finally realized that they'll just keep scheduling appointments, have me pay these copays as well as Labcorp who interprets the bloodwork, probably until forever. Even though again, *I am not displaying any symptoms." It wasn't until my friend who actually has an autoimmune disease was like, "Why are you going? I literally only go when I have symptoms." So like I said in the beginning - I'm sure it's a great place if you actually need to go because you're experiencing pain, discomfort, and other symptoms. But if you're generally healthy and the only suggestions they have for you are to take Vitamin D and K12 pills, consume more Vitamin C, and ice your knee after you workout if you feel any slight pain, then you're probably good to sit this out. Also want to note that even if you make an appointment, you could be sitting for 45 minutes. I'll never understand that about doctor appointments. If you're 10 minutes late, it's a huge deal. But if you arrive on time and then you sit for 30+ minutes, it's just accepted. So in terms of parking pro-tips - there's parking across Venice in the neighborhoods and the parking garage a block away gives you one hour free. But again, that can be risky since the wait time is unpredictable.

What made it even more confusing was that there was only one other person in the waiting room the entire time I was there, so the office did not appear particularly busy. This experience was especially disappointing because it took me months to finally work up the courage to make this appointment. Other health issues had taken priority, and I was already anxious about addressing my back pain. After spending an entire afternoon waiting, I left feeling like I am right back where I started. I am still in pain and no closer to getting answers or treatment. I understand that delays can happen in medical offices, but basic professionalism and communication should be the minimum standard. A simple explanation or realistic estimate of the wait would have made a huge difference. Instead, I was left feeling ignored and completely disrespected as a new patient.

Not just the procedure itself, but every little detail, what I might feel during it, how I might feel afterward, what side effects were normal, and what to expect during recovery. He was incredibly thorough, patient, and knowledgeable. What amazed me was that everything happened exactly the way he said it would. That level of expertise and preparation made me feel safe and reassured during a procedure that could have been very stressful. What makes Dr. Ghatan special isn't just how smart he is, it's how much he genuinely cares. He never made me feel rushed, never dismissed my concerns, and always took the time to answer my questions. He treated me with kindness, respect, and compassion every step of the way. Also, his office is so disorganized and siloed they can't process a referral or get you your own x-rays. LONG VERSION I was referred to NR in May from a One Clinic and only got in in September (!) because the appointment system is such a mess. I couldn't get through on the phone (both numbers eventually hang up on you) and I finally had to drive out to the office in person just to book my appointment, and then they lost my referral. The only reason I hung on so long is NR came on strong recommendation for his sports background, which mattered for my particular injury. Then I see Neel and he seems to not have knowledge of a very common condition (cuboid syndrome) and is irritated by my reasonable questions. He refers me out of Providence to a physical therapist for something he should have had the skill to handle, and then his referral for some reason requires a prescription even though I have complete choice in my PPO. So I'm on to Select Physical Therapy, but he doesn't send the prescription in time so I lost my appointment and now I'm starting over in dealing with my cuboid. Also, he apparently can't listen and take proper notes, because my visit notes are in MyChart and they're not entirely accurate. It is now November and I'm still trying to get x-rays from a September 13 appointment so that I can go to UCLA. Forget Providence! Never again! P.S. This is not an isolated case. I've been to Providence Encino before and they're a disaster too.

Our attorney referred us to this office, but when we arrived, we couldn't find any parking at all. There were multiple valet attendants, and I was not comfortable having strangers drive my car through that chaotic parking structure. The entire experience was extremely stressful and frustrating, so we will be contacting our attorney to request a referral to a different office. In our opinion, the parking situation alone makes this location very difficult to access and unnecessarily overwhelming, especially for patients already dealing with injuries from a car accident.
