I underwent a full-mouth restoration, including upper and lower dentures and multiple extractions, at a cost of approximately $20,000. At the time, I believed I was beginning a process that would be supported through completion, with the goal of restoring my smile and quality of life. Nearly three years later, I am deeply disappointed to say that consistent follow-up and clear guidance toward completion have not occurred. This has been not only frustrating, but disheartening--especially given the importance of this type of treatment. I also experienced a significant difference between the initial estimate and the final amount requested, which was not clearly explained in advance. When I raised my concerns with the office, I did not feel that they were handled with the level of care, understanding, or accountability I had hoped for as a patient. At 70 years old, this has been a difficult experience, and I would not want others--especially those facing major dental procedures--to go through something similar. I strongly encourage anyone considering treatment here to ask detailed questions, get everything in writing, and fully understand the long-term plan before proceeding. This fact actually kind of freaks out my husband. He thinks it is very weird to have gone to the same *anything* for one's whole life. But alas, it is true. So why have I been going to Dr. Gitlin my whole life and why do I drive 90 miles from Fort Collins to Littleton to get my teeth cleaned? Plain and simple, Dr. Gitlin and his staff are the best! As a little kid, I was notorious for having cavities. I swear, every time I went to the dentist, I had a cavity. I was actually surprised one time when I didn't have a cavity. Despite the numerous cavities I needed filled, I was never afraid of the dentist or going to see Dr. Gitlin. He is such a nice, funny, laid back guy and really great with kids. He made me feel super comfortable and pretty much convinced me as a kid that I was the *BEST* patient ever. While there today I could over hear him talking to a kid who was getting a filling and I was reminded of all the fun things he would say that actually made getting a filling fun, or at least as fun as it could be. He would always says things like, "Open wide like an alligator," "Time to make your tooth go to sleep," and "We got to get all the SUGAR BUGS out." I'm glad he still says those things to kids! Dr. Gitlin's staff is also great! Many of the staff members are actually the same people that have worked there for the last 20 years. The hygienists are wonderful and very gentle with their cleanings. And even now that I am an adult, Dr. Gitlin is still a great guy to talk to and he has such a great sense of humor. So if you are a little weary of going to the dentist, or are looking for someone that is good with kids, I HIGHLY suggest Dr. Larry Gitlin and his staff.

He works with you to make sure you have the best smile possible and with the least amount of discomfort or pain. I often read reviews of dentists who are rip off artists, or tell you about cavities in your mouth that don't exist. It makes me sad to know there are crooked dentists out there. People are already scared to go to the dentist, let's not make it worse by ripping them off, too! However, I was given a 5 day pain prescription following the surgery, but my follow up appointment was 7 days after the surgery. I ran out of my prescription over the weekend and was in extreme pain for 2 days until my follow up. Luckily they were very helpful at my follow up appointment and things are starting to look up.

I rue the day I agreed to let the goodly dentist agree to fix my teeth. I had a bite issue from…read morepoorly made crowns from a previous dentist. I just needed a small touch up from one that was a bit too low. He Guaranteed me that he could fix my bite. $3000 for a $150 bite guard that I was to wear for far too long to "get my jaw right". It was never not right, just a tooth a little too low. After that, instead of raising the one lower tooth, he took a dremel and ground my others down, making them sharp as razors so they constantly cut my tongue, and after too many visits to get it "right"--or even close to that, I gave up and cut my losses. I've filed them down myself with a nail file to prevent a ravaged tongue. And that was an additional $3000--$6000 up front for the whole deal--cash out of pocket. That was a couple grand more than the original 5 crowns to begin with. Not one day has gone by that I am not in pain and it has been years. I've been to 4 other dentists and none of them want to touch the problem now. I can no longer chew like one should, so many foods are taboo and most aren't chewed well, creating more problems. No grinding, like for salad. I can't even put my teeth together unless there is food to fill in the rough terrain. Like gravel on gravel. My only real mistake--going there in the first place. Nice guy--certainly. Occlusal specialist--not even close. I've few regrets in life--but this tops the list. I could drone on, but I needed to put this to rest here.
