Oh wow, when I was there for doctor's visit, everyone seem nice and things went smoothly. After the…read moredoctor's visit, I went to the receptionist desk to request the clinical notes for the visit, and told it can't be done, because it was not ready, and to call back and request it over the phone. It is August, the receptionist did not identify who she was. I told her the request to be sent via mail or email my clinical notes and test records, since it was not ready then. She was the most rudest person with such an abrasive combative attitude. Talk about winning the trophy for having ZERO etiquette and professionalism in customer service. Even the manner in which was said, she don't know who the receptionist was. I immediately sense this was going to be a combative zone talking with her. She told me in the most aggressive tone, the waiver release was not signed to obtain the notes to be sent. I told her, I was there and given all the paperwork needed for the visit and release forms. She told me, "no you didn't". Just asking a question felt like an unnecessary confrontational. I kept my cool and monotone in my voice. But, you can feel the negative vibe brewing with her. I'm from New York and don't tolerate this. On the phone or online, acting tough just shows your insecurities, power-trip desire ego, and sadness in life. I told her, when I was there that day, I requested the clinical notes and records, the receptionist told me it wasn't ready to be printed, and she was the one who gave me all the paperwork to sign. If I didn't sign it, she would have inform me that I needed to sign another in order to release the notes and records to me, for when I call over the phone. At the end, after dealing with her nasty azz attitude, she told me, she need to ask the doctor later this week, if he can give permission to release the clinical notes to be sent to me. In person, the staff were professional and ran the place smoothly with no issue. I assumed they gave all the paperwork to sign to release the records. On the phone, it felt like a slugfest boxing match with words. In other words, they lied giving song and dance with a punch to not send the clinical notes when requested, since they don't give it right away, saying you have to call at a later time. Only to deal with this wackjob. Doctors are competent, office staff for in-person were adequate. But this woman, she needs to be replaced for someone who knows the decorum for customer service, to talk to patients over the phone.

My appointment was at 9:15am and it is now 12:30pm with no end in sight. They told me to expect a 2-3 hour wait but when the appointment verges into 4 hours, it is not worth a New Yorker's time. The waiting room was full of retired older people so they may have the time to wait but for people who have jobs and kids, give this a skip!

A friend of mine used to go to an ophthalmologist who had offices New York, the Bronx, and Westchester County. He was well-known for his expertise. Unfortunately, he passed away recently. My friend and his wife wanted a very specialized, highly trained ophthalmologist. Dr. Engelbert has a VERY impressive résumé and CA. His appointment was at 11:30 am; he was Called into exam room about 11:35 am. For years, driving him to his appointments, because of the treatment and dilations, that was fast! Their promptness and ability to schedule patients properly, that didn't waste their time impressed me. He was in with the doctor for about an hour, maybe a little longer. It takes a few minutes for the eyes to dilate; and then the treatments begin. When he was done, he was happy with the treatment. They take a variety of medical coverage plans; inquire first to make sure yours is one of them. The office clean, well organized, and there is breathing room. In the Main lobby is a small Coffee/Sandwich Shop - Eddies II. To pass the time and get something to eat while he was in the treatment room. There's sufficient parking and handicap spots near the front door. It's easy to get on and off Route 87.

("The doctor will ask that later.") Except he never does. In fact, you won't see Dr. Spaider till after you've been through a battery of tests spread over a three hour period with a lot of waits in between in a crowded glaringly lit waiting room. Then you'll see him for a cumulative five minutes. "Cumulative" because he keeps leaving the room Never introduces himself, never calls you by name, and extracting answers from him is like pulling hen's teeth. Basically you check in and then wait about 40 minutes, then get called by a technician. Spend five minutes getting a test then back to the waiting room. Another 15 or 30 minutes and another technician calls you. And so on. Then you wait for the doctor. The staff all seem capable and professional and most are pleasant. (However there is one woman who deserves special mention for being so rude. I think even she suspected she crossed the line and tried to mumble something at the end of my two minute test.) Try as they might to be fine on the individual basis, it's a factory assembly line and you will feel like you're a process not a person. I also don't appreciate that after all that and all that time I don't have a prescription, just a check on the bigger issues. So... good capable people and a big practice and I guess the sense that if it takes 2-3 hours for a regular non-emergency eye check they're on schedule.

Very disappointing experience…read more Before arriving, I called to inform the office that I would be running late and specifically asked if I would still be able to see the doctor. I was told that it would not be a problem. However, when I arrived, I was suddenly told that I would need to reschedule. No one contacted me in advance even though they were aware that I might be late. According to the hospital's appointment system, the visit is listed as 15 minutes. When I arrived, I was unexpectedly told that the appointment would take 2 hours, yet no one could clearly explain why. If the appointment actually requires two hours, it raises the question of why I could not be seen the same day after confirming my arrival. The 15-minute late policy does not seem to be applied consistently, and there appeared to be little effort to help or find a reasonable solution. While trying to understand the situation, I asked several polite questions but unfortunately did not receive clear answers. At one point I briefly took a photo of the area, making sure not to photograph any patients or front desk staff. I was then told that photography is not allowed due to a sign prohibiting it, however no such sign was visible anywhere. Overall, the experience felt very disorganized and unhelpful. I remained polite throughout the entire interaction and simply wanted clarification, but none was provided.
