Let me say this, i suffer from Dental Anxiety and going to the dentist is a struggle for me. After looking and messaging many dentists i decided to visit Dr. Nazarian. He was so welcoming and encouraging via messaging that i decided to be brave and make an appointment. The second i walked in, there is no "dentist" smell at all, and that is usually the first trigger for me. After being greeted by the staff and filling out paperwork i was walked back to the exam room. And thats when i started freaking out and having an emotional reaction. The staff where so great in not making me feel weird or that this shouldn't be happening the gracefully offered water and didi the xrays fast. After the xrays Dr. Nazarian came in and the flood gates opened. He let me take as much time as i needed and allowed me the time to explain why i have this anxiety. He has an amazing calming presence and made me feel comfortable. He explained to me whats going on and how much work in need and what my options where. He told me that its up to him to change how i view the dentist and that went a long way for me. He reassured me that dentistry has come a long way sine i have been in and that there are many more options now for people like me. So I just went back again for my check up with Dr. Nazarian. As before, the office was immaculate, clean, and very open and bright. His staff at the front desk and his assistant in the room were both very friendly and professional. Dr. Nazarian took his time to explain the status of my current dental health and gave me detailed options on different cleaning techniques that he can perform. He finished the cleaning process within the time he had told me it would take so I was able to get back to work on time. He communicated with me during the entire process and walked/talked me thru the whole session. I first heard about Dr. Nazarian as a recommendation from an orthodontist, and, after shopping around--he had the lowest prices AND the best reviews on yelp (even the filtered ones are ALL POSITIVE. THAT'S UNHEARD OF!!). Dr. Nazarian has the one of the best bedside manners of any doctor/dentist/PERSON I've ever been to. His staff is also incredibly polite and charming. In addition to all this (and perhaps most importantly!), Dr. Nazarian is a sharp-shooter. He will never try to upsell you on something you don't need, and he will always give you the facts, straight up. It's hard to find a person like that, let alone a dentist--and especially in a city like LA! Another reason Dr. Nazarian is so great is he explains things to you thoroughly, takes the time to answer all of your questions, and--most importantly--HE LISTENS TO YOU. I have had many decent dentists in the past--they get the job done, but they don't really take the time to explain things, or take any of my concerns seriously. Here's the difference: I had a brown spot on one of my teeth, and when I asked another dentist about it, he said, "We can just buff it out, it's nothing to worry about." A couple weeks ago I found Dr. Nazarian on Yelp and decided to use him for a cleaning based on Yelpers' reviews. There's only one thing I can add to the amazing feedback about him (which is all true). I have never been much of a flosser. It always seemed like a waste of time. Every dentist has told me that I need to floss, but they're dentists, so of course they're going to tell me that. Instead of just telling me to floss, Dr. Nazarian explained exactly why and showed me that 95% of the cavities I'VE EVER HAD are from not flossing (they are in between my teeth, not on top of them). Most dentists run in and out of the exam room and don't give their patients the time of day. Dr. Nazarian makes you feel like you're the only patient on the schedule that day. The first time I came I wasn't too impressed by some staff members but leave that as it may be. I loved Dr. Nazarian's etiquette, and bed-side manner. He is honest, straightforward and willing to work with you. I went in today as a rash decision because I needed to get something done about my cavities, and cleaning. I called them up the yesterday and asked for an opening and to my happy surprise they did! I needed it done this week because I need to go out of town for almost a week on Monday. In any case, his staff member Keli, and Chi (I really hope I spelled it correctly) had great mannerisms, and concerned whether I had any questions. Moreover Chi is VERY thorough and such a sweet lady. Dr. Nazarian himself talked to me before about what was going to be done, and what other things I may need to get done. He answered my questions, told me what I may be feeling and what I need to keep an eye out for. The procedure he filled two of my cavities and both he and Chi also worked on my cleaning. So far so good! I have another appointment soon so I hope all goes well then also! If it continues to I definitely will recommend others to come. In addition I will keep my yelping up especially for dentistry as I know many people have the fears and anxiety when it comes to teeth. Dr. Nazarian is great! I moved to Los Angeles a few years ago and had been looking for a new dentist for a while now. My wife had brought our kids to his office where they saw the pediatric dentist and they had a great experience. And since I had not been to the dentist in years my wife scheduled a appointement for me. I was a little apprehensive at first, but after a very thorough exam, I decided to go with his recommendations. I'm one of those people that hate the dentist! So, coming here helped me realize the dentist isn't that bad. I've been coming here for almost two years maybe three now and will be all because Mr. Nazarian is the best dentist I've been too. I was having jaw pain and needed to see a doctor fast so I called and was told the Dr. Wasn't in on Wednesday but could get me in as early as Thursday. I didn't want to wait so I called another office that could take me, at the end I decided to wait and just stick to my regular doctor. Once in Dr. Nazarian explained to me why I am having this pain. He was calm and explained everything clearly. He explained the ways I can avoid this issue and recommend a night guard. He went on to proceed with my cleaning but stopped instantly when he noticed my discomfort due to my jaw and said we will continue on my next visit. Although I could have continued I appreciated he stopped cleaning since I did have to go in to work after. (Also glad I didn't see another dentist) I highly recommend coming here. The staff and assistants are all very friendly. They always made sure I was comfortable and need of any assistance. Office is nice and clean, and separate from the kids side. After not going to the dentist for several years due to many poor experiences with my childhood dentist, I finally got dental insurance and thus began the hunt for a great dentist in my area who accepted my insurance. I had someone recommend Dr. Nazarian to me, and I am so grateful! They were able to quickly get me in for an exam and x-rays. I went in convinced that I would need a lot of work done because I hadn't been to the dentist in years, but Dr. Nazarian was so kind in talking through all of my concerns with me. He even fitted me for a mouth guard as I grind my teeth (I should have done this years ago!). I came back a couple of weeks later to pick up my mouth guard and for a cleaning and the hygienist was so sweet and talked me through the whole process which I really appreciated! Dr. Nazarian also made an optional follow up appointment with me in 10 days regarding the mouth guard to see how it is going. Overall, I am so happy with my experience. Dental appointments always make me nervous - that they'll be uncomfortable or painful; and that I'll be lectured about how I should be doing more/better. But this wasn't like that at all! My dental hygienist was amazing - I had no pain, she took her time, was sensitive to my questions. Then Dr. Nazarian came in to check the work, look for cavities, answer more questions. I had a great experience with Dr. Nazarian and his staff! Everyone is very friendly and the office is well-equipped and sanitary. They send text messages reminding you twice (once a few days before the appointment, and once the night before), which was really nice. It's also fairly easy to find parking on side streets, which is definitely a perk. My one reservation is that I think I've had deeper cleans from other dentists. Typically my dentists in the past have spent a good 15+ minutes scraping tartar off all my teeth individually, but this cleaning was a bit cursory. Very minor note, however! I think I have fairly good dental hygiene, so it's also possible that there just wasn't much to clean. I'll definitely be coming back, and I plan on making Dr. Nazarian my primary dentist. He accepts DHMO, for those with that type of insurance. read more

Dr. M. Nazarian is literally the best dentist I've had my whole life...and I've gone through a few trust me. He's very reliable, trustworthy, nice, cautious and his prices were exceptionally lower than any others in the area. Dr. Nazarian was able to fix serious pain I've been having for over a year from some bad dental work. I was wary at first to go to another dentist since the last time I had treatment done 2 of my teeth were left in bad shape by my last dentist and I couldn't eat on the right side of my mouth this whole time. I've been in constant pain and had fillings I needed done. Finally I was told about Dr. Nazarian. He took his time, laid out all the options, didn't try to oversell any treatment I didn't need, and explained everything I needed to know before and after my treatment. I ended up needing a root canal to fix the initial problem that was causing my pain. I was expecting to be miserable and leave irritated. After that I was so happy with Dr. Nazarian's work a week later I made my next appointment for the fillings I needed. He's quick but careful, I can tell he takes his time, but is still way faster than my last dentist. I have no more pain. My teeth are in great shape and he was able to explain everything he was doing without sounding like a stuck up snob. (Which is generally what you would get in that area.) I probably have more work to be done, but I know I'll be going to see Dr. Nazarian for it. As a plus I take my son to see his wife an amazing pedodontist (pediatric) and treats my kid better than I was ever treated, and even after needing treatment still wants to see Dr. Tali. A scammer and a fraud! This is the worst example of a dentist I've ever encountered. The best part is this was only for a supposed cleaning! First off the XRAYS where horrible, the technician pushed the apparatus so hard into my mouth that my gums hurt even after leaving the office. Second this so dentist only proceeded to pick at my teeth with his dental pick and then only polish my teeth after I declined his deep cleaning service for a great discount of $650! Keep in mind after I declined he said he would try his best to do a "deep clean like" service for me to be nice. He in fact was so persistent that he decided to keep reminding me while polishing my teeth and then upon leaving he decided to show me horrific pictures of tartar build up on google images. I was so angry I couldn't leave the office fast enough after being charged $139 I forgot my sweater. Of course I had to go back and walk into his crummy office again to retrieve that. Beyond the point! Days later I decided to contest this with my credit credit to attempt to get a refund. Finally at the grace of my tech from the orthodontist downstairs.... She heard of the issues with this "dentist" and decided to get involved. Dr. Nazarian then promised he would refund all the money for such a bad experience. Comes to show that never happened and I had to ask for it. Finally weeks later they decided to refund me only $90 out of the $139 because it was a problem with only "the cleaning." Desperate for your money buddy? Is that why you need to up sell people for services that aren't needed? Ohh yeah! My regular dentist that I always used in Orange County for years said I have no Tartar and and it would be ridiculous to get a deep cleaning. He did perform the cleaning with you know, that high pitched ultra sonic thing a ma gig. And that was the "good news" Dr. Nazarian! Perhaps you should worry about your own teeth and get them straighten and fixed first before ripping people off! read more

Hmm...I didn't dislike Dr. Nazarian. "A-OK" is a pretty apt description of how I feel. The office is lovely, very clean and well-decorated. The front desk receptionist is lovely and friendly. I was able to schedule an 8AM appointment only two days in advance, which is incredibly convenient! They have a text message confirmation system which I appreciate. But I'm kind of 'eh' about the whole experience. I should have stuck with my usual dentist (reviewed elsewhere in my profile). The dental assistant was very friendly. She said she graduated dental assistant school 3 months prior, and it did show. She was good, but rather slow and she seemed hesitant about her work. Dr. Nazarian himself made a very brief appearance! He was with me for a short time, just saying things looked good with my Xrays and whatnot. I had the misfortune of being in the exam room directly adjacent to the door leading to the lobby. They kept the door to my room open the entire time (not sure if this is a lawsuit prevention thing or what?). That in itself isn't problematic if my door had been facing, say, a blank wall. But since my door was facing the lobby door, it was awkward. The lobby door was open for basically my whole visit. I asked if it could be closed, and the request was granted. But then three seconds later, someone left the door open again. Patients were walking past my door and I did feel uncomfortable. I think the office should be more aware of this and consider closing the doors out of respect for patient privacy. I also realized my old dentist is a rarity in that he performed my cleaning himself, rather than have his dental assistant do it. I see now that is not common practice. So, my 8AM appointment saw me leaving the office at about 910AM. My old dentist would have had me out in 40minutes. He's more seasoned than a dental assistant obviously, so it goes more quickly, I guess. Overall, I think Dr. Nazarian is a quality dentist, but I think he's not the dentist for me. read more

Dr Nazarian was recommended to me by a close family friend, and since I had just moved into the city, I decided to give him a shot. The first thing I noticed was that it was a brand new office and the equipment was all newer than the stuff my previous dentist had used. I experienced the least pressure and anxiety I had ever felt while in a dentists office. I went in for a regular checkup, but he happened to find two cavities as well. I can honestly say I had one of the least painful cavity fillings that I had ever experienced. He definitely proved himself to be worthy of becoming my primary dentist. He was very nice and was very thorough in his explanations before undergoing anything. My prior dentists usually just did work on me without ever talking me through what they were going. Dr Nazarian could sense my apprehension, however, and explained step by step along the way what he was doing. It was very helpful in calming my jitters. Easy 5 Stars in my opinion. read more

I just started seeing Dr. Nazarian a few months ago after my previous dentist changed locations. As someone who usually dreads dental appointments, I found Dr. Nazarian's office to be MUCH more than tolerable. My experience with him began over 18 months ago when I needed a dentist who could evaluate me on short notice for pain in one of my molars. Since then, Dr. Nazarian has helped to restore my tooth and jaw health to the best it has been ever!! He has impeccable bedside manner, and is a true expert at teaching you what he needs to do before just turning the drill on!! AND on top of that, his numbing injections are virtually painless!
