She herself is very nice, a good…read morelistener, and quite responsive to messages (though she is usually unwilling to do anything without an in-person appointment so she can get more money out of you). The office staff however, is another story. They refuse to do simple things like following up with insurance to get prior authorizations for medications they prescribed. I have one medication that was prescribed 2 months ago that they still haven't submitted the paperwork for. When I called to tell them that insurance still hadn't received the paperwork, and to ask that they send a new prescription to the pharmacy so I could buy it out of pocket (because I actually need the meds...) they intentionally hung up on me. Several weeks later, they sent me a letter in the mail saying they are dropping me as a patient. I guess they only take patients that don't require paperwork. I recognize that those of us with chronic illnesses are more work, but that doesn't mean we deserve to be dropped just because some of our medications require prior authorizations. Also, if you're considering David Ottolenghi (the other doctor at the practice) beware, he doesn't believe in vaccines... I sure wouldn't want a doctor who trusts politicians over science.

From the first time he came to meet our daughter in the hospital, we have only had positive interactions. We have been fortunate to not have many sick visits for our daughter, but the few we have went smoothly. We were so happy with our experiences at Med Peds for our daughter that my wife and I both now have doctors there as our primary care physicians. All the doctors there are (as of now) board certified in both Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. I see Dr. Capes and my wife sees Dr. Lang, and we are both very happy with them as our doctors. Dr. Capes takes time to listen to everything I have to say, and clearly takes time to familiarize himself with my history each time I visit. He is also compassionate, and very personable. On another note, I've been very pleased with the office logistics. I've never had a billing problem, and most importantly - I can't remember a long wait. The patient load they take is well managed. The waiting room is never full, and once taken back into a room I don't think I've had to wait more than 10-15 minutes. These are the best group of doctors I've used, and they've earned my trust and future care.

I tried to continue to take the kids there for annual visits but lives get so busy it just wasn't possible. We had a couple of small issues with front office staff in our early visits and I think a touch more of a holistic approach would make the place perfect - but I certainly miss the practice and haven't found a doctor that quite compares. Highly recommend. Oh - one other thing - since the docs are also internal med docs you can make an appointment for you and your kids all at once. Had to do that here and there it it worked out great!

Only issue was the bill I received weeks later, I guess after the insurance submission. And the facility itself was clean and comfortable. Truly a positive experience.

DO NOT COME TO THIS URGENT CARE…read more I have never had a worse experience receiving medical care. Being at an urgent care is already stressful and uncomfortable, but the way I was treated throughout this visit made an already difficult situation significantly worse. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff appeared completely indifferent to the fact that I was there. I was visibly crying throughout check-in, yet no one offered me a tissue or even checked to see if I was okay. The check-in iPad was directly in front of the front desk employee, which made the complete lack of acknowledgment even more frustrating. I then waited approximately 20 minutes alone in the waiting room while I could hear nurses and doctors laughing and talking amongst themselves. Given that I was visibly distressed and in pain, it was extremely upsetting to feel like I was being left there until they were finished talking and laughing. When I was finally taken back, the provider immediately began assuming that I was pregnant. I am a single woman with an IUD, and while pregnancy is never technically impossible, the assumption felt inappropriate and dismissive given the reason I was there. Throughout my time in the exam room, I continued crying because I was in significant pain. Again, not one nurse or doctor offered me a tissue or checked on me. I came in because I was experiencing severe back pain, and I was given a shot in my butt of what I was told was essentially "amplified Tylenol." I was instructed to wait approximately 15 minutes to see whether it helped. Not even five minutes later, the doctor came back into the room and abruptly told me, essentially, "You have a kidney infection. If you throw up or have a fever, go to the ER. Okay, see you later." There was no meaningful explanation, no thorough discussion, and I felt like the entire visit was being rushed to an end. I was prescribed antibiotics for the supposed kidney infection and began taking them as instructed. Four days later, my lab results came back completely negative, with NO SIGN OF AN INFECTION. Naturally, I called the urgent care because I was concerned about being prescribed antibiotics for an infection that my laboratory results did not support. The person identifying herself as the "manager" told me that sometimes "bacteria just doesn't show up on labs." I found that explanation extremely concerning, especially considering how quickly I had been diagnosed and how little explanation I was given during my original visit. At that point, I decided to go to a different urgent care for a second opinion. The doctor there immediately questioned and ultimately disproved the kidney infection diagnosis due to the lack of evidence supporting it. I was specifically instructed to stop taking the antibiotics. The difference between these two experiences was unbelievable. The second doctor actually took the time to evaluate my symptoms, consider the available evidence, and explain their reasoning. My experience at this urgent care felt rushed, dismissive, and careless from beginning to end. I understand that urgent cares are busy and that medical professionals see difficult situations every day. However, basic compassion, communication, and thoroughness should not be too much to expect from a healthcare provider. I was visibly distressed and in pain, yet I felt ignored by the staff and dismissed by the provider. Being incorrectly diagnosed is serious enough, but being prescribed antibiotics for an infection that another doctor found no evidence of is even more concerning. If you are told you have a kidney infection here, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion, especially if your test results do not support the diagnosis. Unless you want to potentially walk out with antibiotics for an infection you may not have, I strongly recommend going somewhere else. DO NOT COME HERE.

AVOID THIS OFFICE UNLESS YOU ENJOY TERRIBLE CARE AND SURPRISE BILLS!!!…read moreWe brought our son in for an ear infection. After spending the shortest amount of time possible, the "doctor" claimed she couldn't see the infection, gave us some drops and sent us on our way. We went back the next day when he was miserable to find out that there actually was an ear infection. This doctor gave us the correct medication. We self paid at the time of service (if you can call it that) before both visits. Imagine my surprise when we received two additional invoices! I've called twice for an explanation and was told both times to speak with a supervisor, who hasn't been in the office either time I called. When I went to the office for an explanation because a supervisor doesn't seem to exist, I was told that they can collect the money, but they can't explain further and I need to speak with billing. How convenient!
