One was a 100 year old Hamilton he declined because he was shut off from parts and was concerned that if anything broke or was lost he'd be stuck. Parts availability is a big problem anymore, as watch companies want to control everything and don't sell to independents. Ed is a real watchmaker. He can make some of the parts himself. He's also extremely personable, honest and reasonable. He has unique hours. You often call and get the machine. When he's in you may find a line (moves fast) of people dropping off or picking up. He'll work on fancy Swiss brands, Seiko, whatever.

I was more than a little upset being I woke up early to take this precious piece of my family history to the Fair Grounds to this joker in the hope of it being fixed and finally hearing its chimes after it being silent for so many years. Have owned a Loricron 4/4 Westminster regulator wall clock for decades that suddenly stopped…read moreworking on Christmas. Called shop on morning of Saturday 1/4/2025; brought the clock in circa 11am; repair person diagnosed the problem on the spot; even had an upgraded replacement mechanism in stock; received a call around 1:30 PM the same day that the clock was repaired - simply outstanding!!! The clock is working perfectly, and the new mechanism has more features than the original. Repair person even took time to explain the new mechanism operation; gave me some tips along with instruction sheet for proper setting and battery replacement. They even offer a 1-year warranty on the repair with proof of purchase. Tough to find a clock/watch repair person these days, let alone one that seems to know what he is doing. Couldn't be more pleased with the service even though some might find the repair cost a bit pricey (you get what you pay for IMHO). Am looking forward to many more years of use on a model of clock no longer in production that we just love.

Today I took my watch to Brent Miller in Lancaster they have a sterling reputation. Their watchmaker opened up my watch they said it looks like it never been serviced the inside was dirty and is both gaining and losing time and the gasket which is supposed to be replaced so it remains waterproof was the original gasket that was in the watch and never been replaced. I cannot say enough negative things about Leitzel's Jewelry, they completely screwed me and had me pay a couple of hundred bucks for either shoddy work and lied and didn't do the work. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy!
