I brought a pearl necklace in to be restrung about a year ago. After wearing only a few times I could see the knot spacing was uneven. When I returned to show them after 6 months and asked that they be restrung the said they would do me a favor and do it but they had an attitude about it. Recently, we participated in an intimate Bridal Event hosted by Bixler's Jewelers, "Lucky in Love" Wedding Showcase. There were a number of upscale Wedding Professionals in attendance. Candidly, we had heard of Bixler's "America's Oldest Jewelers", ever since moving from to the Lehigh Valley, but never had need of their services. I must say, as a Professional Photographer who has worked in some of the very best venues not only in the Lehigh Valley but Nationally and Internationally, I was taken aback on the first impression of their showroom! From every angle of this sizeable but not overwhelming showroom cried "First Class". Lighting, the layout of the showcased and the private nooks where their experts and customers to share focused time on their possible selection. However, for the multiple hours I was there, I got to see snippets of customer care and see the expressions on their clients faces, even the response time on welcoming newcomers, not suffocating them. This is an experience, I would recommend our children, our family and friends and any inquiring couples to put on their list of Jewelry Professionals and visit them. Had a jewelry appraisal scheduled and was instructed to come early to drop of some very large pieces of jewelry. Arrived at 10:30am (as I am a surgeon and had urgent patients scheduled at 11am). Their map link stated they open at 10am. I had planned to pick it up later in the day and also purchase a 2 thousand dollar piece that evening from them for my husband. I should note I am a woman of color and had a mask and surgeon's cap on. A Caucasian man came to the door and refused to just allow me to even drop off the pieces at the door. He was exceedingly rude. I could not help but wonder had I been white would he just have taken the jewelry from me at the door and cared more about customer service. I will NOT be coming back. Awful service during a time where I am sure they are financially struggling. As a person of color I would not support this business. UPDATE: Received a call from their "manager" several hours later in the muddle of my clinic day. I answered because I wanted to believe they would be apologetic. Instead, upon hearing I was busy, the manager asked me to call them back. What a missed opportunity! (Instead of leading with an apology first and foremost). Although Arlynn was fantastic, as we became return customers and dealt with other employees in the store, our experiences became more and more unpleasant. We recently got married and I wanted to buy another diamond band to match my engagement ring/band to make the piece look more complete. We requested an additional 5% discount since it was a "Bixler made piece". We at that point had spent ALOT of money there for my engagement ring and our wedding bands so I didn't think what we were asking for was unreasonable. They instantly became snotty, so we immediately left. I buy jewelry often, so they lost a good customer, who originally gave them a second chance from a very bad experience, over $35. This review is long overdue but a recent issue prompted me to revisit. My husband had my engagement ring made here. He had his own diamond but had them make the diamond setting. A few months into our engagement, the band on the engagement ring broke. We live in Boston so we asked Bixlers to recommend a jeweler here to fix it and they did. The guy did a horrendous job (didn't match color or size of diamonds on band), so we had Bixlers redo it and send the ring via mail. It took forever. I was without a ring. When it came time to buy a wedding band, we asked Bixlers to match it to the engagement ring. Since, again, we are in Boston, we asked them to email a photo before we purchased. They sent us a 3D CAD rendering of the scariest piece of jewelry I'd ever seen. Think braces with diamonds. Clearly something for the manufacturer and didn't match the engagement setting we purchased. After being reassured that the ring wouldn't be hideous, we still bought it. Fast forward to yesterday and now one of the diamonds fell out of the band. The fact that it's happened to both rings is a testament of the quality (or lack there of). We wanted to go through Bixler's because my in laws have done a lot of business with them over the years and they were once a family-owned business that stood by their products. Had a 2ct diamond ring appraised six years ago. Paid for a new appraisal this month for insurance purposes. Appraisal value was lowered by 75%. They were either incompetent then or they are incompetent now. Stay away from this jeweler. They can't be trusted. read more

Worse was older white guy(wearing a Knights of Columbus pin, some example), then the woman Arlynn was polite up to the point the sale was set, then she couldn't get rid of me fast enough. I found the perfect piece I was looking for after searching the other big name jewelry stores and their customer service was excellent. I still can't believe the quality of the stones and metals they have at the prices they sell for. The same quality piece of jewelry I bought here was selling for 40 percent more in the other stores. Went in to get a older rarer watch fixed that is a family heirloom. Jeff, gave me a full run down on the watch and explained everything about the watch and it's history. Jeff was super knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. He put a new battery in the watch and cleaned the contacts and thankfully it worked perfectly. He also informed me that Parts for the watch have become scarce, and offered to do some research to find a watchmaker that may be able to help with parts of i need them in the future. I used Bixler's Jewelers because they were recommended by a friend. I was very dissatisfied from start to finish! We dealt with several store workers as we were ordering and having work done on several items. One woman was extremely nice, everyone else was not! I felt like I was buying from a used car salesman! Another woman was so professionally passive aggressive I was shocked she was allowed to work with customers! One hand did not know what the other hand was doing. We were given incorrect information about our orders twice! The worst part is we definitely paid too much, it took for ever, and we were sooo disappointed with the results. We did not even want to deal with them again to have them fix it. Cut our losses and moving on! I do not recommend them, and I will never go there again! read more

Great staff but the cream of the crop is Holly (didn't catch a last name, hope there's only one). The knowledge that this professional had was second to none and the selection was of the greatest quality, even the estate jewelry was obviously selected for quality and beauty. We did not have great experiences here. We thought that they must be good at customer service since they were in business so long, but that was not true. The communication and customer service is really lacking. There were WAY too many problems that Bixler's created that should have never happened, but I will give Bixler's some credit for then trying to resolve their own problems they created. They were a major pain to deal with and would take forever to respond to e-mails. The reps are not down-to-earth and did not seem to care at all about their jobs or you as a customer. If you brought up any issues, they treated you like you were an annoyance and not like you had legitimate concerns. I would not recommend them. They are also more expensive than most other jewelers out there and take forever to get your jewelry done. I wish we would have given our business to someone else; it would have saved us tons of time and headaches. read more
