I actually chose a couple of doctors before but ended up canceling both times. Finally, after more searching, I found Dr. Kristina Hobson in Los Gatos. To be honest, when I first walked into her office, I was already looking for an excuse to cancel again. But once I spoke with her, I was really impressed with her knowledge and the way she explained everything, so I decided to keep my appointment. Today was my procedure at Silicon Valley Surgery Center, and I had such a great experience. The facility was clean, calm, and very nice. Every single person I interacted with was wonderful. From the front desk to Barbara, who helped review my paperwork everyone was kind and welcoming. My first nurse, Kay, was incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and professional. When she went on break, Nicole took over she was also amazing. I'm not a fan of needles at all, but she did my IV so gently and with so much care. Then Kat, the third nurse, took me to the procedure room she was kind, calm, and very professional. Dr. Michael Block, the anesthesiologist, was excellent. He actually texted me the night before to ask if I wanted to review everything ahead of time or on the day of the procedure, which I really appreciated. We exchanged a few messages, and then he spoke with me again before the procedure and explained everything clearly. He was confident, knowledgeable, and very reassuring. In the procedure room, I fell asleep within seconds and woke up quickly afterward feeling great. Within about 30 minutes, I felt completely fine. I was even able to take calls and respond to emails. And now, about Dr. Hobson ,she is truly a 10 out of 10. Honestly, the entire experience was 10 out of 10. From the office to the surgery center, every single nurse and staff member was exceptional. I'm a very detail-oriented and perfectionist person because of my job, so I don't say this lightly. Something I was so scared of and postponed for 5 years turned into such a smooth and positive experience. Thank you to everyone

Still hate doctors, still hate Mr. Cheng (he doesn't deserve the title), still traumatized, still can't bring myself to go to any other healthcare provider. My distrust of doctors and professionals didn't start with visiting Mr. Cheng, but the visit with Mr. Cheng was genuinely one of the key moments in my life where my hope and spirit were genuinely crushed and I haven't recovered as a person, it's fundamentally changed me and my outlook on mankind and life for the worse. I needed him to be a decent human being and he was so horrible, I pretty much just avoid society in general anymore because of Mr. Cheng. And I especially will never forget what a proud "Christian" he claimed to be. He did so much damage to my life, so off-handedly, and I didn't deserve it. But I bet he still goes to church and pats himself on the back for being a good "Christian", looks down on other people, when he's the one who deserves the scorn. American health care, in my experience, is broken because the doctors are narrow-minded, judgmental, self-important, holier-than-thou, overpaid and underscrutinized. (Funnily enough my opinions on Christianity in the United States these days is basically the same). I know from being in engineering with ASCE, professional organizations like AMA pretend to serve the public and uphold the standards of the profession but are really just circle-the-wagons clubs for self-interested professionals, and one of the main things professions love to do is artificially keep standards low across the board so they don't have to work hard for their paycheck. All that said, Eddie Cheng has so strongly reinforced all my most negative beliefs about doctors, Christians, and professionals, I pretty much can't handle dealing with doctors, Christians, or professionals anymore. He was really the last straw for me mentally on those fronts. Which is pretty debilitating in our society. And then on top of all that, shame on Medi-cal for not having the standards with doctors, not taking my grievance seriously enough, not offering mental health support so I can get over this horrible experience...if someone were to just care and spend a little time and resources on me, I feel like I could be back to my old self (or mostly at least) and productive again, and this society hates helping. It just wants to punish, and call itself "Christian" and "professional" while it does it. I'm so disgusted with what passes for normal in our society, it's killed my enthusiasm for rejoining it. Mr. Eddie M. Cheng, representing the standards of the entire broken healthcare industry and your sick religion: you were a major brick in my wall.

I've gone through plenty of others, through various HMOs and PPOs and who knows what else... But after my last PCP passed-away, I had talked to another specialist I had been consulting, and he recommended Dr. Shah. It is one of the best professional recommendations I think I have ever had, throughout my long history. Let's just say that I've been through a few flus, some obnoxious allergies, and various other things (including COVID). But, Dr. Shah invariably was "there" for me/us - even often above and beyond what I would *ever* expect from a busy physician. This man is unreal, and he has continually shown my entire family that he is there FOR US. I simply can not give a higher recommendation for any professional individual, EVER. My only "fear" is that I "disappoint" him by not being "as-good" a patient as I can, or attending to my own health as well as I should... that's not his fault, though - I'm a grown man, unfortunately, I have become far-too-accustomed to "avoiding" the (previously mediocre) doctor, even when most everyone (including my spouse) says "you should go to a doctor." Luckily, the rest of my family is generally smarter than I am...
