My venue had a restriction against electronic music outdoors, and I didn't initially think about the implications for the ceremony, and how we'd have to hire live musicians in addition to a DJ, and I was a little worried about the impact on our budget. Jan was great in helping to recommend a fantastic guitarist and DJ combo (for our ceremony and reception, respectively), that fit nicely into our budget. I was skeptical at first about having a guitarist for the ceremony and cocktail music, but Eric was phenomonal. I'm actually really glad we went with a guitarist instead of a more traditional string quartet or violinist. Eric was a true professional, and did an excellent job timing the music with our ceremony, and the music was just beautiful. We booked DJ Steve for the reception. Neither my husband nor I are big music people, and weren't sure how to give direction on the music. Turns out we didn't really need to. We filled out a questionaire with a few of our song requests (all of which got played) and types of music we wanted, and Steve took it from there. He did a good job of reading the crowd, and did a good mix of different music to please a diverse crowd. Overall, our experience was fantastic. The music was one of the easiest parts of the wedding planning process, and I highly recommend booking through Jan.
