The level of expertise and detailed dental care I received during the past three visits at Lands End Dental really surprised me. I believe that Dr. Rosa Mathai is a perfectionist, enjoys her work, and of course, is very dedicated to her craft. Together with Elaine, Brittany and Merlette, Dr. Mathai has put my future dental care worries to rest. I would highly recommend her practice. Appointments are easy to schedule, they always pick up the phone, and it's also not very difficult to find street parking near her office. A real gem in San Francisco!

All my life I had major phobias about dental work and it wasn't until coming to these fabulous dentists that I overcame my fears. In fact, my entire family AND my senior mother were patients. Recently, I came in for routine hygiene with Joe and met the new dentist, Dr. Rosa Mathai. She's just as wonderful, calming, efficient, and professional as my previous dentists, and totally adorable. Dr. Mathai is very thorough and conservative - not doing unnecessary dental work unless she feels it's in the best interest of a healthier mouth. Overall, I love the dentists and wonderful staff of this office. They're all so helpful and reassuring and most of all, honest and transparent. Highly recommend them if you ever need dental work. Pleasant, skilled, and looks out for their patients.

Please avoid at all costs. I went to this "dentist" Steven Baldwin seeking care for a tooth ache…read more From the beginning his office was ultra shady, no receptionist, no dental assistant. He didn't even take an xray to diagnose this issue. He didn't even give me Novocain and went straight to drilling my tooth, I screamed in pain, he then gave me an injection of Novocain, and broke the needle while doing so. Also had sour chemicals dripping down my throat. He poured some resin and filled my tooth. I was in pain for two days after his work. Over phone he said he accepted Delta Dental and turns out he's not contracted with them Still in pain, I finally saw my regular dentist who took an X-ray and said I needed a root canal. Horrible dentist and will take to court for malpractice and to pay for root canal or dental implant if he messed up my tooth structure. A complete crook who did a botched job. I can't believe there are crooked dentists just trying to get as much as they can at the expense of human and their teeth.

Dr. Klara Michelson is a good actress. She pretends to…read morecare, but all she cares about is not getting caught at putting in the largest crowns that will fit in your mouth when you don't need an extra large crown for your medium sized tooth or molar... I went to Dr. Michelson, in the 1980s. I worked at the Safeway, a few blocks away and I had really good active union dental coverage. She suggested that I should get my fillings updated, even though, I had no pain, no problems with them. But, she said that would be preventive and I thought that she knows more than I do and it did sound wise... Then later, I would get so much pain in the tooth that she crowned and I would ask what happened and she would say with an innocent look, that the tooth went haywire, it just happens. Like, (sh*t happens...) I didn't know what to think... And, that is what she counts on... I found out many years later, that is what happened to me. I had extra large crowns on each tooth that she worked on, even though, they weren't that big ... That's when the teeth that she worked on became really loose, wobbly, ready to abcess. An honest periodontist, had me get a 3D full mouth x-ray, then he discussed the results of the x-ray, tooth by tooth. He was shocked to see that all the teeth that she worked on had extra large crowns when they did not need that size and were very top heavy, making them incredibly loose and ready to become infected, abscessed... And, the periodontist also had warned me, that I was not a good candidate for implants, not enough bone mass in my jawbone... They would forever be infected and rejected by my body. Each implant would need to be worked on forever... I would be bringing in dollars for a long time for her... And, any trained dentist could see it in a regular x-ray. Before I had the periodontist appointment, I saw Dr. Michelson one last time, I had an infected tooth and rather than give me a pain killer, she had me sit down with their financial advisor to work out a financial plan for a mouthful of implanted teeth that were $5000.00 out of pocket, for each tooth. No dental insurance would cover them... I looked at her in amazement. She looked like she was drooling at the amount of money she would be getting from me, for a long time... That's when I realized, that tooth implants were part of her plan for me all along... It was her planned end result for me... She definitely knew that she had me fooled... I really trusted her... I was a fool... If I could rate her -5, I would. Learn from my mistake of trusting her. Walk away or better yet, I'd have to say, "don't make an appointment with the devil, you'll regret it..." And now, you should have guessed that I lost all my teeth... The teeth she never worked on, had no support and became looser as each tooth was extracted... I was thinking that I could keep some teeth by getting 1 tooth pulled, at a time, only when absolutely necessary. I can now say that my oral surgeon, Br. W. Bohannan, (he is not part of Dr. Michelson's team) was right when he says that getting 12 teeth extracted is the same pain level, as 1 tooth. Dr. Bohannan really did a great job! He has helped keep my faith in the dental field.
