One of my greatest fears is anything interfering between me and my ability to eat. And so I panicked when I was unable to bite down on a fluffy, fresh and warm piece of bread! I called Dr Carlos' office, Hannah was super friendly and professional and Dr Carlos saw me immediately! She's thorough, gentle and was patient with me needing frequent breaks in between to address my concerns and overall needs as an individual suffering from sensitive teeth. Struggle's real She walked me through each step of the treatment plan and left me feeling at ease. I'm not a fan of going to the dentist (who is?!) but with Dr Carlos and a great team of ladies taking the time to provide such treatment & care, this is my spot! read more

Just wanted to update that they have continued their Covid precautions which I truly appreciate.

Dr. Carlos and her staff are knowledgeable, personable and caring. Their advice and guidance in taking care of my dental health is honest and straightforward. Hannah is a pleasure to work with and she is a great communicator. I refer all my friends and family to Dr. Carlos and her team when they add for a referral to a dental professional. The area is great too. I never have a problem finding parking and then going to grab some great Chinese Food afterwards! :-) read more

Excellent and topnotch care we received and are continually receiving from Dr. Carlos. It is for this reason that we've been under her dental care for years already. Friendly office. read more

Dr. Carlos has been my dentist for the past 28 years ever since she started her Noriega practice in 1994 and honestly, I wouldn't consider finding another dentist. She has always been kind, caring, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. She and her staff have always done a thorough job of taking care of my teeth and they have treated me well throughout these years. I am amazed by Dr. Carlos's memory and personal touch. Literally, just yesterday during my dental check-up, she remembered that my wife and I will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary this November. I believe Dr. Carlos has been doing a great job of striking a balance between the latest in dental technology and old fashioned care as mentioned on her website. I have seen the upgrades in the dental office with the remodeling and new technology over the years and at the same time, she still treats her patients like family. I don't think that this is simply a business for Dr. Carlos but rather her calling and passion as she tries to provide the best care for her patients. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Carlos for years now and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. Dr. Carlos and the staff and super friendly, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. My entire family see Dr. Carlos now for all of our dental needs. Couldn't be happier with my experience here. The faculty is clean and they follow all COVID protocols during the pandemic. Highly Recommend! read more

Before going to Dr. Carlos, I used to go to another practice in the area. The dentist that I used to go to was horrible - in and out service and the doctor was so rough! Comparing practices to Dr. Carlos is night and day; I'm so glad I switched doctors! Dr. Carlos is an amazing dentist!!! She's so sweet, diligent, caring and gentle while making sure my teeth are clean and healthy. Everytime I go to my appointment, I'm always greeted with smiles. Additionally, Dr. Carlos' staff makes you feel like family - they're all very friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dentist! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Carlos for over a decade. When I moved to NY for a couple fo years, I would make sure to see her on my trips back as there isn't anyone who can perform cleanings or any other procedure as quickly and gently as she could. She's made going to the dentist something I don't fear. I actually enjoy going in for my regular cleanings! It's a great feeling to leave there with sparkling clean teeth. The staff is warm and welcoming and if you need anything Hanna at the front desk will always go above and beyond. read more

I do not recommend going here unless you want to be verbally and emotionally abused. Hannah, the receptionist, at this office is the reason for this review and if there was a way to rate less than one star, that would be deserving in this case. Unfortunately, I tolerated coming here for years because Dr. Carlos is caring, polite, and has always made me feel welcomed. Her dental assistant Gina is also very nice, professional, and has never been anything but likable. Hannah on the other hand is a different story - she lacks professionalism and basic customer service skills. Depending on her mood (yes, there will be many unpredictable days if you interact with her, so be prepared to walk on eggshells. I warned you...) she will snap back for asking simple questions such as, "what's Dr. Carlos' next availability?" or routine tasks such as checking a patient's insurance eligibility will become a major deal and irritate her. You'd think she would know by now how to navigate through these everyday procedures she was hired to do without lashing out at the patient. She's condescending and flat out rude to the customer for no reason. It's a shame that Dr. Carlos tolerates such a staff member that clearly effects her practice's reputation. If it was not for Dr. Carlos' services, I would have stopped throwing money at this place a long time ago. Highly disappointed. Thanks to Hannah's mean girl attitude and behavior, Dr. Carlos lost a loyal patient of many years. Cheers to 2019 and a better dentist experience! read more

I do not recommend this dental office for two reasons. My husband was told that he needs treatments for 5 cavities. We just wanted to have second opinion before we commit to these treatments and surprisingly, another office said those are not actually cavities. We were pretty upset imagining that we would have spent all those dollars to treat the healthy teeth. But we did not write any bad reviews on here because people can make mistakes and Dr. Carlos was a nice person. But after I experience the rude manner from Hannah, the receptionist, I did not want to protect them for any reason. Apparently, there was a problem with my insurance company not properly paying to them. Those things can happen in life, we just need to figure out through communications. But the way she deals with this situation was very rude. She called me and complaining about my insurance company in a very rude tone and cancelled all the future appointments which I was going to cancel anyway due to over-treatment issues. After I figure out that my HR office is trying to resolve this issue and try to update Hannah about the status, the insurance company already started the payment process. These things could be done more professionally and nicer way if you are service professionals. If you do not wan to ruin your day with this kind of customer service, please find other dental offices. There are a lot in the city. read more

My husband and I have been going to Dr Carlos for YEARS. She is kind and an outstanding dentist. I've had other dentists admire the work she's done with my fillings. She's patient with my anxious husband and her staff is excellent. Hannah is always helpful and professional and everyone in the office is very nice. Makes a teeth cleaning a pleasant experience. read more

I have been going to Dr. Carlos's office since I was around 3. She and her staff have been nothing but friendly, supportive, and caring. Every staff member has been so kind, gentle, and patient. Going to them is like being treated like family. The entire center is clean with a gentle ambiance that would relax anyone worried about going to the dentist. Unlike what some have said, they have never been pushy, rude, or condescending. They always do a thorough job with my teeth that I never have to worry about it. Hope everyone calls. read more

Dr. Carlos is awesome! If you need a dentist in the sunset, I'd highly recommend using her!

Best experience I ever had. Unfortunately my insurance does not have this place in their list. The time I had the treatment from Dr. Julieta Jay Carlos I had to pay out of my pocket. Completely satisfied. After this dental office you get the idea what 5 stars is. And how the other dentists should care about their patients. Recommend to people who don't have a time to look for the Best. read more

Very well run establishment. The staff complement the doctor (DMD) quite well. A very pleasant experience ...even for a dentist!

Just had my regular cleaning of teeth at the skilled hands of Dr. Julieta Jay Carlos. I'm impressed with how professional and good she is at what she does. This is accompanied by her kindness, compassion, and charm---not to mention her sense of humor. You get the sense that Dr. Carlos is calm, centered, and serene as if it were yoga. A patient comes away with a great sense of satisfaction and a very good feeling. Thanks, Dr. Carlos, for the excellent work you do! read more

Dr. Carlos is amazing! My husband has had some pretty bad experiences in the past and will not see any other dentist, but Dr. Carlos, and no matter where we live he will commute to see her. I recommend her to anyone I know looking for a dentist in San Francisco. Her integrity is outstanding and her quality of care and workmanship is simply subpurb! Her dental team is so sweet and welcoming. If you are looking for a dentist and you have any type of fear or hesitation go see Dr. Carlos and watch it all disappear! read more

I have been seen by a few dentists. She's by far my favorite. Her mastery of her craft combined with her gentle, compassionate nature makes going to the dentist not only bearable, but enjoyable. Dr. Carlos and her staff are very warm, friendly, and professional. I highly recommend her and had gone to her for seven years.

I have been going to Dr. Carlos for several years now. She is the first dentist that I have gone to that doesn't make me cringe when I think about going. Dr. Carlos is extremely gentle and warm and her staff is friendly too. I have been very happy with all of the work she has done. I whole-heartedly recommend her! read more

Dr Carlos is a caring and empathetic dentist. I've been a patron for over 10 years and keep coming back because I'm treated like family. Dr Carlos is quite conservative in her treatments and spends the extra time educating on prevention. I have not had any issues or cavities in the past decade. Thank you Dr Carlos and staff!! You guys are awesome. I highly recommend this place! read more

My entire family appreciates Dr. Carlos's expertise. she is the best!

Dr. Carlos is amazing! I came to her for the first time a few months ago after finally getting good insurance! Went in for a regular cleaning and also for her to repair a chipped tooth my previous dentist tried repairing it TWICE, and both times the fill in fell out within a few months! She takes her time and is very caring and understanding. I cannot take needles and she had her assistant hold my hand when she was injecting the numbing meds into my mouth and she had noise canceling headphones for me to use during the procedure so i wouldn't have to hear the drilling as much! Best dentist i have been to by far, hands down. read more

While a visit to the dentist is usually my least favorite place to go, I must say that Dr. Carlos has made me feel so comfortable with the entire dental experience! She exhibits high standards professionally and is personally a delight -- she always makes me laugh during my visit and has a gift at making me feel at ease during any procedure. The compassion of Dr. Carlos and her Team is so incredible -- going above and beyond during procedures one of the team would hold my hand when I needed support. I have always felt completely safe and taken care of with Dr. Carlos and her Team. Moreover, when I have needed other dental related services (e.g. periodontist or endodontist) all of her referrals have been highly skilled professionals, exhibiting the same caliber of expertise, tremendous empathy for their patients, and a serene setting. I'm so grateful to and for Dr. Carlos! I know I'm in good hands with her always! read more

Best Dentist ever and we live in Oakland! Have to drive all the way to The City but it's worth it. Dr Carlos is great as is her staff. My kids even like going there which is rare for a dentist's office... read more

Again Dr. Jay is the best Dentist I've been too. My only complaint is that her office is in SF and I now live in South bay. Yes, I still make the drive down to see her every ~6 months because she is worth it! She's always patient and always takes care of me with the utmost care. I've had her work on my cavities, work on removing my silver fillings, put on a crown, etc. At all times she always numbs me up correctly and I feel very very little pain. I've been so relaxed, while she was performing a cleaning that I actually fell asleep for a split second. I'm not sure if the previous reviewer was commenting about Dr. Jay or one of the newer dentists. Her schedule has been busy due to family emergencies. She was out for the month of Sept and I had to reschedule my crown procedure until October. read more

I actually enjoy my visits to the dentist now. Seriously!! Dr. Carlos is so sweet and warm, she puts me right at ease the minute I see her. So, I was waiting for the tooth fairy to pull out my wisdom until I couldn't wait no more. Since I relied on the tooth fairy, I did not have a dentist. Lucky my mother recommended me to Dr. Julieta Jay Carlos, DMD and her BAUtiful team Hannah and Gina. I did not have an appointment but Dr. J accepted me anyways for my emergency 'Give me life, liberty, and some painkillers'. Gina is a very good photographer, she made sure my make up was done right, my hair was flowing just right, and my composition was in the right angle for my photos to show my best side. The side that was giving me the pain. Hannah was exceptionally awesome as she took the time to refer me to an excellent oral surgeon Dr. Gregory G. Olsen at Sacramento Oral Surgery. Since 'Dr. O' is closer to home, Hannah placed me in contact with them, which she pulled out from Yelp*. So it helps for people to view this website and make recommendation based on objective reviews. Anyhow, Thanks to Dr. J and her BAUtiful team, i now have a dentist when I move back in the Bay Area. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Carlos for at least 15 years. She is the dentist one dreams of and wish I had had her previously!!! She is very professional, compassionate, knowledgable, informative, sensitive, warm, practical, honest and GENTLE, GENTLE, GENTLE in the mouth. She explains the situation ahead of time, discusses the issues and solutions be it the "simplest" to the most "complicated" procedures. Her expertise and knowledge are beyond comparison.
