Ear still bothered me, but because he didn't see any fluid, said it was fine. I said my other ear also bothered me some, but he blamed it on TMJ. Did some rudimentary hearing testing and said it was fine. I felt like his practice was stuck in the 1950s, and he failed to give me proper treatment as a result. Ended up having to go to a different ENT, who was excellent. Gave me antibiotics and steroids to try to solve the problem. When that didn't work, put tubes in both ears to drain the fluid. This is the best my ears have been in ages.

What a blessing!…read more He was able to pull up the CT scan from 2 years ago and went over it, with me, slide by slide, explaining all the bits and pieces, then threaded a scope down Hubster's throat (via his nose, by the way...bypasses gag reflex that way) and he let me see all the cysts that were on Hubster's tongue! Way cool!! I love when doctors explain things in a way that I understand, but, at the same time, don't make me feel stupid. He gave us both medical and "non-medical" solutions (raise your bed, watch your diet, and, here's a temporary pill to get you started until everything else kicks in.) I'm a huge fan, and while, yes, I hope this has solved our issue and we won't have to return, I heartily endorse Dr. Blake's " bedside manner" and have no reservations recommending him to anyone else who needs an ENT! Based on my experience and conversations with others, this office does not appear to be well equipped to work with patients whose needs require additional understanding, flexibility, or support.
