Thinking I had an ear infection, I was able to make an appointment for the same week in which I called, which was a huge plus. I also loved that they had late afternoon appointments, which meant I didn't have to go to the doctor on personal time. I was the only person in the waiting room and was called exactly on time for my appointment. The doctor's assistant went over all my medical information with me, verified my current medications, and told me the doctor would be in shortly. Dr. Hsu came in about 20 minutes later. I really liked him, and thought he was efficient and helpful, especially once he told me that my ear infection was actually jaw-related instead. He prescribed a course of action: adjustment, allergy meds, night guard from the dentist, soft foods, over the counter pain meds, etc. And to see him again in three months. I loved that he listened to me and explained things thoroughly. The only weird thing was that he called in 2 prescriptions to my pharmacy for me - and both items turned out to be over-the-counter medications. The reason this review is 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because of the cost. My crazy health insurance plan has "negotiated rates" until you reach your deductible, and the cost for this visit was over $200! Ouch! So, if things seem to clear up, I probably will cancel my 3 month appointment, but if I need to go back, I'm confident that Dr. Hsu will be able to help.

The paperwork stated (and the nurse that injected me told me) I needed to stay 30 minutes after my shot to make sure there was no reaction. After my injection, I went back to the waiting room About 15 minutes later, I was told by a staff member the office was closing and I needed to leave. Second problem... I went to get an injection today and was told no injections were being given. I asked the lady (same one that kicked me out a couple weeks ago) why no one called me to let me know. She said she didn't know. I told her I even received a reminder and I confirmed it, and she brushed me off. It's a 20-minute drive to and fro. You would think a medical practice could do better than that! And hire staff that does their job correctly, professionally and with a smile! How hard is that?!?!

Since moving to Florida from New Jersey in 2018, I have encountered the nicest people everywhere I go, and this facility is no different. I was anxious when I first arrived, but the staff made me feel calm, cared for, and safe. Everyone treated me with warmth and concern, from Heather at intake to John the nurse to Joe and the other techs who assisted in getting me ready for the biopsy. I had general anesthesia and was out cold in less than 20 seconds. When I woke I felt fine except for scratchiness in my throat, which was to be expected. They gave me water to rinse out any remaining blood. I asked for salt water and they gave to me instantly. I wasn't left alone for more than five minutes during the entire process, and several people went over the procedures and the recovery instructions with me. I highly recommend Select Physicians Surgery Center.
