The owner was friendly and answered all of my questions clearly. My 1855 barn is structurally safe again due to their work. Highly recommend.

Having flipped houses and worked in construction myself, I understand the industry, and I found the transparency, clarity, and honesty of your services to be severely compromised. This company preys on people's nostalgia for history and then overcharges regardless of the work is specialty or not. Looks like most of there projects are for people who don't mind paying 5-10K over typical rates. Specifically, I am concerned about the following issues: - Inconsistent Communication: Brad shrugged off my inquiries and provided excuses that contradicted what the foreman told me on-site. Furthermore, while Brad claimed a rotted area in the 1700s portion of the building was worth saving, your team did not even work on it, focusing instead on basic framing and sill work. - Pricing and Vague Quoting: The quote was both vague and misleading. Charging $34,000 for 36 feet of sill work--while leaving the area without a wall or floor and charging $4,000 for jack stands--is an exorbitant rate. Additionally, I was quoted an extra $15,000 for just 150 square feet of floor and wall framing. - Technical Integrity: Despite being told the work was structurally sound and that certain rotted areas were "temporary," I personally opened the wall to find that the framing attached to your custom L-brackets was completely rotted. The workers on-site appeared unable to answer basic questions regarding the degree of rot. - Unprofessional Conduct: On one occasion while I was not home, CJ entered my house unannounced while my wife was home alone without knocking. This is entirely inappropriate and lacks basic manners. It appears your company prioritizes profit over professional standards and remedial work quality. This has been the worst experience I have had with a contractor to date. I am disappointed that a firm specializing in historic structures would operate with such a lack of transparency. I'll take Mom and Pop operations any day over the crew who all drive $100,000 trucks, have 3 foreman and clearly hire inexperienced demo guys who won't answer basic questions and prop up rotten boards without opening the wall to check the condition of framing. Oh last thing; he never finished, CJ told me some structural 'cleats' were included in the first estimate and later when it wasn't done Brad said it wasn't included. He clearly fleeced me like he does the rich people who are too wealthy to notice. These guys do great work if you don't mind paying 10K over market. To boot daily and when they were done they left debris everywhere, AFTER Brad told me they clean to perfection. A liar with poor customer service skills unless you open your wallet blindly Also they charge for their commute, which is nuts

We are satisfied customers! They are now starting the process to come to my home for flooring and carpeting in my home. Thank you Pastor Suzanne

"Gimme three steps, gimme three steps, mister Gimme three…read moresteps towards the door?" (Lynyrd Skynyrd) After we had our hardwood floors and steps sanded and refinished, we decided to pretty up those steps with a carpet runner, which explains why we visited Galaxy Discount Carpet Store today. That decision ended up being a FIVE STAR experience. Their two floor showroom is just incredible! Sample boards, rolls stacked on the floor in rows, area rugs hanging from the ceiling, gorgeous stuff everywhere. We met with Charlie and explained to him what we were looking for. He said that staircase runners can either be pre-manufactured in big rolls, or custom cut from carpeting meant for rooms. We knew we wanted a runner in some shade of gray to complement our wall color, and decided on a carpet runner to be cut from a big grayish roll and then finished with black binding along the edges, to complement the black stair rail and contrast with the white stair risers. It was installed 72 hours later, and that was pretty amazing in it's own right. Communication with Galaxy was great. Charlie was a dream to work with, the installers called us the day before install to confirm the date and time window, and the van with two workers arrived as scheduled mid-afternoon and did a neat professional job on the install. Charlie's price was $140 less than one we had from a flooring company out in our neck of the woods, and the carpet quality was better at Galaxy. Everything went well, and the stairs look great!
