Happy New Year Yelp Community I just got the opportunity to read Jonathan's response to me which is just hilarious to me. 1) I said keep the length only if possible while removing all dead ends. The length wasn't the issue. The issue is with the request not being completed as asked. I said to remove all dead ends (a necessity)- I was ok with going shorter and as short until my healthy hair was what remained. With no particular style in mind: layers, bob, etc. So, it seems the comprehension skills is a problem here. 2) I didn't dry my hair in any particular way whatsoever. It was naturally air dried which is where my issue lies. 3) I also have the receipts from both Aly and the MAS texting feature just so we're clear, not just Aly and no one, I repeat NO ONE, followed up with me. And that aside, the issue lies with yall wanting to charge me money to "correct" the unhappy visit. Yall really would rather charge $12 than ensure a client's satisfaction. Talk about WACK. 4) Many of my friends who did go to MAS no longer go and I've recently visited a new salon where all MAS hair stylists are apparently at now and whom I've personally ran into. So, if THAT doesn't say something about your management, I don't know what does. 5) Love my new spot. My hair is gorgeous and healthy, no thanks to MAS- a joke of a salon. Original Review: I've been super busy, so it's a slightly delayed review, but I'm making sure that I make the time to leave this review because my third visit to the salon will certainly be my last. I'm incredibly disappointed with the service and the management's desire to make things right. On July 15th, my appointment was supposed to be with Alex (whom I adore), but something came up so they asked if I'd be open to seeing Aly. I figured I would give her a try, because I was in dire need of a hair cut because my split and dead ends were horrendous to say the least. I asked for a color balancer (ash mushroom brown) and a cut/trim emphasizing several times the importance of keeping the length (IF POSSIBLE) while removing all the split/dead ends (A NECESSITY). 1) I didn't get ash mushroom brown that I requested, but I know how coloring hair can be a bit difficult so I didn't even mention it and make a big deal. I still liked the color so it didn't bother me. 2) It was styled (curled and brushed out for a blow out look) and anyone who knows when hair is styled, the damage is sort of masked and harder to tell. I could tell my left part was soft but my right part felt a bit crunchy. I didn't pay it any mind because I figured it was perhaps due to the product she put in my hair (gloss spray or something, I don't recall). 3) I didn't wash my hair, because I kept the style for 2-3 days until I needed to wash. As soon as I washed and dried my hair,I could tell right away that it was unhealthy, still full of split and dead ends. *See mirrored image, left vs right side of my hair (it's so visible, it's ridiculous). I was just going to live with it, but I thought to myself, I paid good money for this service and it should be fixed with how I asked because it's one thing if I didn't stress the importance of cutting off the split/dead ends, but I DID...MULTIPLE TIMES. 4) I contacted Aly and explained to her the situation. She said I could book a $12 bang trim to fix it. I was going to do that, but after some thinking, I didn't think that was the proper way of handling this to right their wrong. Don't get me wrong, I can definitely afford a $12 trim but that's not the point. It's the moral of it all. I shouldn't have to. I'm not asking for a whole new cut and color. I'm asking for you to fix what you didn't do as requested which I PAID FOR. But no...you want me to pay more money for you to fix this...make that make sense. So, I also reached out to management. They told me the same thing, but I flat out told them that I didn't agree with their proposed solution. Then, they told me that Aly would contact me. Guess what? She never did. Then I reached back out to management and no answer. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY FROM GOING HERE BECAUSE THEY CLEARLY DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND ONLY CARE ABOUT MILKING YOU FOR EVERY PENNY EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE THE ONES AT FAULT. Not only that, they can't seem to get a color and cut correct to begin with... If you couldn't tell from this review, yes, I'm taking my business elsewhere and never recommending anyone to this salon EVER. read more

The head incredible. It feels so good and as much as I enjoyed it, I wouldn't go back there ever... I wrote a bad Google because they really damaged my hair and made terrible and wouldn't refund the money... So they got about you plus the owner was very unprofessional etc... it was so bad and the stylist, Kristy tried her best, but the extensions were put in wrong. My hair was damaged and she made it purple... Not the end of the world, but they the mess they made... But when I wrote a bad review... The owner threatened to call the police... thanks, I needed that laugh and then she proceeded to tell all these lies that are just ridiculous... Anyway, don't go there if you come out with your hair looking somewhat decent... If you wanna look like a Muppet absolutely go there... It's a rather unpleasant atmosphere... From the minute I walked in, I felt comfortable and welcomed! The salon is bright and clean and very organized. I was immediately greeted by the ladies at the counter and really only waited about 5 minutes before Alexa was ready to do my Deep Conditioning Treatment. Maybe I was a little excited to be visiting a salon after holding out during this endless pandemic, but I don't exaggerate when I say Alexa was great! This was a first time for me, so I appreciated her explaining the process as she went along. She had magic hands with my heavenly head massage. But really, she earned her tip when she took the time to blowout my long hair without taking a break and not a complaint! I am impressed! Thanks, Alexa! I believe the stylist who worked on my hair may have been new, but I don't think she had enough experience for the service I requested. Amanda completed my gloss, bang trim, and blowout. However, I noticed several issues during the appointment. First, when she applied the gloss, she did it in the shampoo bowl rather than sectioning and applying it properly. The application seemed rushed, and she didn't ensure the color covered all of my hair. Considering I paid $41 for a full gloss, I expected a thorough application. Additionally, when brushing my hair, she was very rough, which was painful. At one point, she put my hair into a bun, and I noticed the pieces in the front and right side were still dry and untouched by the gloss. When I pointed it out, she simply said "sorry" and tucked the pieces back into the bun without applying more color. As for the bang trim, I could tell she was nervous, and I felt bad for her, but the result wasn't satisfactory. Upon getting home, I noticed my curtain bangs weren't cut properly--there were long pieces of hair in the middle of my bangs. It didn't look right. Since I had a cruise the next day (the reason I booked this service), I had to visit the ship's salon and pay an additional $25 to fix the bangs. Even the stylist on the ship asked what had happened. Although I don't like confrontation and still left a $21 tip, I feel this feedback is important. I didn't receive the level of service I expected and had to spend extra time and money to fix the issues. This was my second visit, and it was not as enjoyable as the first. read more

Michael Angelo is my new go to salon. I absolutely love the service and attention. I have found a new stylist for myself and his name is Alex! He works wonders with my hair. I came to him with dark roots and asked him to blend everything a little better. He was up for the challenge and knew exactly what he needed to do. Alexa has been doing my hair my over a year now and I couldn't be happier. I will only see her. It went from a hot mess to the shade of red I love... her and I have both experimented (it's just hair it grows back) I always say so let's do new things. Finally! I've been in Fl for almost a year now and have had 3 poor haircut experiences. The stylists were nice enough but one cut was worse than the next (saying "uneven" is being generous!) Anyway, on to the positive. I had read good reviews about MA and decided to give them a shot. I checked out the stylist bios (and reviews where I could) and picked Alex. Making my appointment was easy with the online booking option, and when I had to call with a quick question, the front desk person was friendly & helpful. Day of my appointment was just as positive. I was nervous after the last few bad experiences, but there was no need. The team up front was welcoming and friendly and gave me a quick rundown of the salon since it was my 1st time. Alex came up to get me just a few minutes later - right on time! He is wonderful, both as a stylist (my hair is FINALLY even again without losing precious length!) and as a human. He asked GREAT questions upfront to get to know me and what I was looking for, thoroughly looked at my hair, and LISTENED. He loves what he does, and it shows in his work. He gets bonus points for wonderful conversation and incredible shampoo/head massage skills :) Looking forward to going back! read more

Came here for the first time today, called in and set an appointment with Andrea for highlights & a wolf cut. She was very sweet and kindly guided me away from that haircut as it wouldn't have worked with my hair type and instead gave me a cut that I love. I am over-the-top happy with my experience at Michael Angelo Salon!!! I contacted them through social media about highlights/ balayage and from my first point-of-contact to my last, they were lovely and accommodating. My hair was done by Yani Garcia and I am thrilled with it. She corrected and beautified my badly done self-home coloring, which I really botched. She was so nice and easy to work with and she was extremely detail-oriented and took the time needed to do the color exactly right (I will add some photos in a little while). And she did exactly what I wanted. Everyone has been complimenting my hair and telling me how nice it looks!! I was a little worried about having my hair done right now because of the coronavirus, but my worries disappeared after their confirmation text with instructions about wearing a mask and having my temperature checked. The salon was intentionally not full. In fact, the nearest customers were a good ten feet from Yani and me and they have built partitions between the sinks. Everyone had masks on, no exceptions. The salon is also very pretty and clean and they have all of these great hair products for sale from shampoos to flat irons. I bought a Kérastase Bain Ultra-Violet shampoo to help maintain my blonde color that I used this morning and love. It smells luxurious and my hair was full and shiny afterwards. I really like, too, that this is a family owned business and I want to thank the owners Debbie and Michael for the warm welcome. I will see you again soon! read more

Xenia has been doing my nails for years and I wouldn't trust anyone else to do them. Not only does she keep my hands and feet healthy, we have a great time in a beautiful environment. While I stick to simple manicures, I see the beautiful artwork other people get and I know she is super qualified to do any kind of funky and cool nail designs you desire. First time getting your hair done? Great service... follow up appointments... botched hair and both times different stylists tried to talk me out of thinking what I was seeing wasn't messed up.... DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. I balled my eyes out because of how unhappy I was from Sami's service. She is suppose to be the best, but made my hair stark black on top and warm on the bottom. When I specifically showed her pictures of cool ashy hair and said this is what I want... She said she gave me what was in the pictures and didn't care I was crying and that if she tried to fix it would only get darker which indicted she didn't know what she was doing, how can someone not know how to lighten hair and deny the fact that it's not what I asked for . I called to get a refund and they said they don't give refunds. They would only have someone else try to fix the mess which I was not having since everyone there is worse than her. I made a general appointment to have my short hair trimmed and shaped up. The salon is bright and clean, receptionist was very welcoming. My stylist, Morgan, greeted me with a hug and took me back to her chair. She is such a delightful young woman and asked me about my preferences. After a lovely relaxing shampoo, she gave me a super cute cut. I look forward to having Morgan keep my hair shaped up while I'm here for the horse show season. I highly recommend MA and Morgan. This is the best salon in South Florida! Every time I come from California I have my hair done here and I bring my mom too! I fly in to get my hair done sometimes! Gorgeous salon and amazing stylists! They've fixed my mom's boxed dye jobs twice haha (hoping she learns with this second fix)! It's family owned and just an amazing experience. I went to this salon a couple months ago as a new client. I had a wonderful experience. Diana was my stylist and she couldn't have been nicer. I was extremely happy with all services provided. I booked my next appt with Diana before I left. A couple weeks later I decided I would hold off on Keratin treatment and called the salon and changed appt to just color and cut with Diana. The next appt was in one month. Yesterday I received a text confirming my appt for today with a different stylist. The salon was closed so I left a message. I can describe coming here as an experience, a wonderful, relaxing, 5 star experience. First off, the place is SUPER clean (big deal to me) from the front to the dry bar to the shelves and even the bathrooms, uber clean! Everyone and I mean everyone is super friendly and they go out of their way to explain what they are doing, why the products do for you, why and what you can use post hair style. I am that person with thick, unruly, crazy hair.. people have a love/hate with it but they find a way to make it look easy to make it look its best. I have come here for hair cuts, color, keratin, and blow outs and every time I leave SUPER happy. My daughter also gets her hair cut here and she literately gets stopped on the street and told how amazing her hair looks. I have been coming to this salon for the last 10 years and my hairdresser Diana is the best. She does my hair beautifully when doing single process and highlights, etc. I usually come in every 7 to 8 weeks. This Salon is now under new management and it seems like management is not considerate of their clients. I walk in and to my surprise they are now charging 2.99% if you use a debit or credit card. it would've been much more professional if management would've sent a text message or an email to its clients letting them know that if you pay by credit card you will be charged this amount. In that case I would've come in with cash. They send text messages previously to your appointment for you to confirm. Went in for a color consultation . I was quoted 800 dollars and was told the color I wanted they were able to achieve . I went ahead and booked my appointment. A few days later I got many different options and was told to go from black to copper was achiveable but that my hair would be completely falling out by the time they were finished . this place cares more about making their money then how your hair will be after you get home . they are not honest with you so make sure if this is a place you want to do a color change at that you get yourself a second opinion. She used excellent products, very pleasant, knowledgeable , attentive and best of all .. she made me look & feel like a Billion Bucks !!!! Omg she curled my hair to perfection.It lasted 3 days!!! That was a first for me! I decided that it was time for a new ombré. Midnight blue,black and red colors; after all fall is here!!! I met with heather, showed her a picture of what I wanted. She explained the process in details and told me how to do it with out killing my hair.OMG I LOVE IT!!! My husband was very happy! He can't stop smiling at me! Best of all my husband approves!!! Since I moved from Rhode Island over 9 years ago I've been deprived of my amazing hair dresser and been since hoping to find somewhere and someone I can trust my long tresses to. Finally found a place that not only does a great job with any type of hair and style to suit your needs but also gives you a salon experience like no other. Michael Angelo Salon and Blow Dry Bar and their knowledgeable staff make you feel at ease as they listen to your concerns and work to achieve the look you want. One of the things I learned is that their staff never stop learning. The salon's owner is always providing training to the staff so that they are always learning the latest techniques and staying current with products, styles and trends. Speaking of their products, they have some of the best on the market. One of my favorites is the Kérastase line of products. I bought the Resistance Sérum Thérapiste which is great to use on wet and or dry hair. They're washing stations do an amazing job. I hear some people go there just to get their hair washed and massaged. I always fall asleep for a few minutes. It's like heaven! My stylist is Victoria and she's amazing! I did have to book with Billy once because Victoria was on vacation and Billy also did an incredible job on my hair. Don't think you can go wrong with anyone who works at Michael Angelo's. The only downfall and reason I give it a 4 star instead of a 5 star is that their prices are a tad high but obviously I'm willing to pay a bit more to get my hair done right and keep it healthy. If you're in the market for a new stylist/salon I highly recommend this salon. *my update was just for grammar/spelling errors which drive me crazy so had to fix. Also since my last review my hair is still looking fabulous. Victoria has been working on my hair to get rid of the box color I subjected my hair to for years. She used products which lifted my dark color and lightened my tresses through several visits so as not to damage my hair and maintain it as healthy as possible. Great job Victoria! I've been a client for almost 18 years but I'm not going back there when I return to Florida this fall. I called to set up an appointment for color and cut. I asked about vaccines because my husband is immuno- suppressed and I'm being careful about where we go. I was told that neither Michael nor his colorist have taken the vaccine. I was shocked. I would think that they would take the vaccine to protect their clients. I will take my business to a salon where everyone is vaccinated. read more
