Salt The Spa is located in a gorgeous area of Wellington. We pulled up to a tiny shopping center and the spa was next door to a cute cafe. The outdoor brick pavers lent to an overall charming area. Upon walking in, I was a bit disappointed. It looked like a beauty salon - not the spa like den I was expecting. Many clients were getting manicures and pedicures and were LOUDLY chatting and laughing, as were the employees. This noise penetrated the door to my massage room for my entire appointment. I would suggest addressing this aspect so that ALL clients have a nice and pleasant experience. There were three of us with appointments for 90 minute massages. My two friends were scheduled together in the salt room and I would have my massage in a room at the front of the store. My friends went into the large salt room. I peeked in and it looked lovely. They said it was a bit crowded with two massage tables but it worked out well. I went into my private room with a large window preventing my treatment to be given in a dim space. It was still a very clean and lovely room. Now with all of the logistics covered - I want to say that Anna my Therapist gave me one of the best massages I have ever received! I want to move to Wellington so I can have an appointment with her every week. Anna was tuned into all of the tension in my body and expertly addressed what I needed with the right amount of pressure. She was so kind and caring. As each minute ticked by, I could feel the difference she was making. I LOVED my massage!! Before I left Anna gave me an ice cold bottle of water. Just what I needed. I felt like a new person leaving Salt The Spa and cannot wait to make another appointment with Anna.

Do not go here to get waxed, especially for Brazilian. They double dip and don't use gloves.

Happy New Year Yelp Community…read more I just got the opportunity to read Jonathan's response to me which is just hilarious to me. 1) I said keep the length only if possible while removing all dead ends. The length wasn't the issue. The issue is with the request not being completed as asked. I said to remove all dead ends (a necessity)- I was ok with going shorter and as short until my healthy hair was what remained. With no particular style in mind: layers, bob, etc. So, it seems the comprehension skills is a problem here. 2) I didn't dry my hair in any particular way whatsoever. It was naturally air dried which is where my issue lies. 3) I also have the receipts from both Aly and the MAS texting feature just so we're clear, not just Aly and no one, I repeat NO ONE, followed up with me. And that aside, the issue lies with yall wanting to charge me money to "correct" the unhappy visit. Yall really would rather charge $12 than ensure a client's satisfaction. Talk about WACK. 4) Many of my friends who did go to MAS no longer go and I've recently visited a new salon where all MAS hair stylists are apparently at now and whom I've personally ran into. So, if THAT doesn't say something about your management, I don't know what does. 5) Love my new spot. My hair is gorgeous and healthy, no thanks to MAS- a joke of a salon. Original Review: I've been super busy, so it's a slightly delayed review, but I'm making sure that I make the time to leave this review because my third visit to the salon will certainly be my last. I'm incredibly disappointed with the service and the management's desire to make things right. On July 15th, my appointment was supposed to be with Alex (whom I adore), but something came up so they asked if I'd be open to seeing Aly. I figured I would give her a try, because I was in dire need of a hair cut because my split and dead ends were horrendous to say the least. I asked for a color balancer (ash mushroom brown) and a cut/trim emphasizing several times the importance of keeping the length (IF POSSIBLE) while removing all the split/dead ends (A NECESSITY). 1) I didn't get ash mushroom brown that I requested, but I know how coloring hair can be a bit difficult so I didn't even mention it and make a big deal. I still liked the color so it didn't bother me. 2) It was styled (curled and brushed out for a blow out look) and anyone who knows when hair is styled, the damage is sort of masked and harder to tell. I could tell my left part was soft but my right part felt a bit crunchy. I didn't pay it any mind because I figured it was perhaps due to the product she put in my hair (gloss spray or something, I don't recall). 3) I didn't wash my hair, because I kept the style for 2-3 days until I needed to wash. As soon as I washed and dried my hair,I could tell right away that it was unhealthy, still full of split and dead ends. *See mirrored image, left vs right side of my hair (it's so visible, it's ridiculous). I was just going to live with it, but I thought to myself, I paid good money for this service and it should be fixed with how I asked because it's one thing if I didn't stress the importance of cutting off the split/dead ends, but I DID...MULTIPLE TIMES. 4) I contacted Aly and explained to her the situation. She said I could book a $12 bang trim to fix it. I was going to do that, but after some thinking, I didn't think that was the proper way of handling this to right their wrong. Don't get me wrong, I can definitely afford a $12 trim but that's not the point. It's the moral of it all. I shouldn't have to. I'm not asking for a whole new cut and color. I'm asking for you to fix what you didn't do as requested which I PAID FOR. But no...you want me to pay more money for you to fix this...make that make sense. So, I also reached out to management. They told me the same thing, but I flat out told them that I didn't agree with their proposed solution. Then, they told me that Aly would contact me. Guess what? She never did. Then I reached back out to management and no answer. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY FROM GOING HERE BECAUSE THEY CLEARLY DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND ONLY CARE ABOUT MILKING YOU FOR EVERY PENNY EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE THE ONES AT FAULT. Not only that, they can't seem to get a color and cut correct to begin with... If you couldn't tell from this review, yes, I'm taking my business elsewhere and never recommending anyone to this salon EVER.

The head incredible. It feels so good and as much as I enjoyed it, I wouldn't go back there…read moreever... I wrote a bad Google because they really damaged my hair and made terrible and wouldn't refund the money... So they got about you plus the owner was very unprofessional etc... it was so bad and the stylist, Kristy tried her best, but the extensions were put in wrong. My hair was damaged and she made it purple... Not the end of the world, but they the mess they made... But when I wrote a bad review... The owner threatened to call the police... thanks, I needed that laugh and then she proceeded to tell all these lies that are just ridiculous... Anyway, don't go there if you come out with your hair looking somewhat decent... If you wanna look like a Muppet absolutely go there... It's a rather unpleasant atmosphere... I think they try their best but they're pretty incompetent

A girlfriend of mine months ago had spoken well about European Wax Center, and well, given that I had seen one or two around, I figured I would call and see if they could squeeze me in. The girl who picked up the phone, and whose name escapes me, was very friendly. I had called around 9 AM on a Saturday morning and they were able to take me at 10:15 AM. I went with my cousin, and after the GPS managed to deviate us some, I was surprised at how helpful the girl on the phone was to make sure we arrived to the right place. For those who are unaware of this location, it's in the Whole Foods plaza next to a Lash Studio and some Jamaican (or was it Bahamian?) place. Anyway... El was my waxer. I had multiple services done, so I ended up being with her for half an hour or so. I found her quick, efficient, and luckily for me a great listener. The wax was hot and I had not waxed in awhile. It was a tad painful. I definitely don't want to procrastinate waxing like that again. El did her best to make me feel comfortable. That said, when everything was over and done with, I bought a hair minimizing cream. Let's see if that works. Anyhow, I was rung up and got a discount for being a first-time client. All in all, not a bad morning.

Very unprofessional, was not able to place me with another service technician when I came to the appointment. I had scheduled my waxing service for a Thursday afternoon at 5:30 but was canceled because the technician was not going to be in so I rescheduled for that Thursday morning at 9 AM, upon arriving on Thursday morning before 9 AM, the front desk told me that the wax technician going to be 15 to 20 minutes late, that is unacceptable because I had to be at work at 9:30. Will not be back to this location ever again. They are under staff and not committed to their appointments.

My rating is based on massage services only. Maxine, by the way, gives an AMAZING deep tissue massage! I was so relaxed and warm on the table, dozing off here and there. Upon my entrance I was sat in a waiting area with refreshing cucumber water, lots of clashing fabric patterns all about the room, but comfortable seats. When I get to the check out counter (back in the claustrophobic room), when I initially went to pay, the charge was $70... Maxine came out, spoke to the lady behind the cash register quickly before she grabbed her next client, and the cashier informed me that deep tissue was an additional $10 more. I already thought it was a little too expensive, but hey, I NEEDED that massage. I had no problem paying the additional money - I could tell that even though the error made wasn't my fault, she still wanted her extra $10 bucks... I'm assuming she's the owner. Overall, Maxine gave an amazing, relaxing massage; she was polite & professional. The towels, blankets & sheets were all clean and smelled fresh. This "day spa" is a little too cramped for me to ever consider getting a manicure or pedicure here, honestly. And I'm sure their other services are overpriced, just as the massages are. I don't think I'll return unless I'm desperate need of a massage, like I was the day I went. It wasn't a very "zen" or relaxing atmosphere.
