ok so it was a crazy visit, this being our second. the first visit was more of an assessment. my…read moresix year old got two extractions, a crown & a filling. a lot for a little kid. & yes the appointment was long. we arrived at 9am & left around 2:15. so being on an empty stomach, under different kinds of sedatives she's never had before (laughing gas + oral) was very foreign. she was doing really well a couple hours in. & Dr. Erica & the assistants were working very hard. Dr. Erica did suggest she wrap it up as certain procedures once started must be completed but of course i suggested we knock it all out as more was completed than not & it is expensive (i have MediCal). that day i wished i had listened to her but now i am glad it's all taken care of. i want to commend the staff for being so warm, encouraging & their hard work in general. all the staff i encountered as well as my daughter were so sweet & did their best to make us both comfortable. about halfway through my girl did fall asleep (she obviously needed it, that is a LOT of work to have done in one day) & they made sure to give her blankets & plenty of time to rest before finishing up. personally i have severe dental anxiety & wish i had done more research as to what was being done, how & why. i put my trust in their expertise. the recovery was actually much faster than i anticipated. my daughter was feeling better that night & the next day quite quickly. i did give her some ibuprofen the first two days as needed. i especially wanted to thank Sandy at the front who put a lot of effort into checking dates for a potential appointment switch. she also continued to respond to my questions via text late into the evening (about 4:45pm!) to get me the doctors note for school & a summary of our visit emailed. thank you so much Sandy! you are a gem & deserve recognition for your genuineness & efforts. thank you to all the staff for your hard work & empathetic support as this was a difficult day for my daughter & myself. at the end of the visit they gave her tokens to use at the big prize machine & gave her a sweet little gift for her bravery. honestly i'm so proud of my girl. & i wish my dentist was like this! i'd go here if i could.. why aren't things as cool for adults? lame.

He takes his time and does not rush his work like some other dentists that just rush rush rush so they can see more patients - Dr. Chris does quality work and it shows. Some of the fillings he put on the outside of my teeth, I can't even tell which tooth he worked on because the filling he put looks just the same as my tooth! Dr. Chris goes over and above as well - I've emailed him outside of my office visit asking him questions and he responds to my email with thorough details and has even called me to discuss if it is too much to write in an email. Dr. Chris' wife, Serena, is the office manager, and she is very kind and personable and always flexible and willing to help out as much as possible. She follows up with appointments well and runs the office and keeps it clean - the office and practice is VERY clean and I always feel comfortable during any visit. Recently, my dental insurance through work became "Out-of-Network" with Smile Moderne, but I chose to stay with them even if I have to pay a little more because I know the quality and work will be top notch!! From the moment we stopped into his office it was like night and day first of all the office is decorated in an under the sea theme, which is super cute and my granddaughter loved it. They even have a treasure chest where the kids can pick out a toy when they are done with their appointment and also a game room. Dr. Ruben is absolutely amazing, from beginning to end, his soft demeanor and his gentle way was really reassuring. It ended up that my granddaughter was going to have to be put under anesthesia for the procedure that she needed to have done and after a few weeks to get the approval from her insurance, we came back to Dr. Ruben. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Tran and his assistant were amazing and kept reassuring us that everything was going to be OK, my granddaughter actually giggled her way to sleep. Dr Ruben went above and beyond to make sure that all my granddaughter's dental issues were taken care of. We went from being anxious that she would be have to be put under anesthesia to feeling super relaxed and at ease. My daughter has fairly significant needs (medical and developmental, she is 12 years old and non verbal). She has previously had to have cleanings done under full anesthesia (at a hospital, due to her medical needs) due to having difficulty finding an office that could accommodate her needs. I picked Dr. Wilson due to her affiliation with our insurance and because she has privileges at CHOC (in case my daughter needs anything done under anesthesia). She had us come in for a consultation to understand my daughter's needs and discuss what was needed to get her taken care of. Then she had us come back for the cleaning on a different day at a time when there were no other patients so it would be quiet and less overwhelming. She had a papoose to help my daughter stay still and safe during her cleaning, and was able to get what was needed done quickly and effectively. No need for anesthesia for a simple cleaning!! I'm very appreciative of the kindness, compassion, and individualized approach to care that Dr. Wilson and her office staff showed. Special appreciation for Mimi who went above and beyond in coordinating insurance issues and helping ensure my daughter was able to get the care she needed. Thank you!!

My husband came in late and the doctor re-explained everything to him (I was not expecting this at all!). They sent a card in the mail which was a cute touch afterwards. The child gets to pick a toy from the treasure box when they are finished. Office is SO clean and staff is friendly. I found them at the RMV farmers market and I am so glad that I made an appointment. It is important to practice & familiarize kids with going to the dentist and the staff was soooo good about this.
