Gary Young assured me from the start that he'd do everything he could to get me a fair settlement amount in light of the serious injuries I sustained. I had high hopes initially given the defendant admitted 100% fault. Unfortunately, those high hopes dwindled rather quickly. I expected Gary to be much more aggressive than he actually was. Instead of having some backbone to stand up for me and fight for fair compensation, he advised me to just take the latest offer to avoid going to court. Taking the easy way out obviously required a lot less effort from him. Towards the end, his tone of voice also made me feel like I was bothering him whenever we spoke. If you're looking for a lawyer who will fight for you like a Pitbull, look elsewhere. What I got was a Chihuahua. He assured me several times, "Don't worry, it'll all work out." My share of the settlement amount wasn't even $65,000. It'll all work out, really?? Not exactly. Absolutely disgraceful, he should be ashamed of himself. They advertise on their website they obtained a $1,350,000 settlement for a dog bite victim they represented, yet I didn't receive anywhere near that amount and my injuries were much more severe. I can't express how disappointed I am in this law firm. STAY AWAY AND SPREAD THE WORD!!!

My plan specifically includes attorney consultations, legal advice, review of up to 10 pages of documents, contracts and letters, attorney-written demand letters on a member's behalf, and other legal services. The plan also requires participating attorneys to respond within 8 hours or by the next business day. Despite that requirement, I had to wait approximately five business days just to obtain an appointment. When the appointment finally occurred, the consultation lasted less than five minutes. Before I could fully explain my situation, Mr. Bilkis repeatedly interrupted me and stated that my only option was to file a lawsuit and that hiring him would cost between $7,000 and $10,000. I explained that I was not seeking representation at that time. I was seeking legal guidance through benefits I already pay for. However, I was told that he could not provide meaningful advice without reviewing documents and that doing so would require an additional payment of approximately $2,500, despite document review being one of the benefits included in my legal plan. Every attempt to ask general questions regarding my options, possible outcomes, or potential legal scenarios was met with interruptions. At one point, Mr. Bilkis stated, "I know what you're trying to do," as though I was attempting to obtain something improperly, when I was simply trying to use the services included in my membership. I was not asking for free legal work. I was attempting to use services that I already pay for. Instead of receiving legal guidance, I felt pressured toward paid representation and was unable to obtain any meaningful advice. The conversation ended before I was even allowed to fully explain my situation. This experience was dismissive, unprofessional, and inconsistent with the purpose of a prepaid legal service referral. Fortunately, my legal plan has since referred me to another attorney who is willing to provide the services and guidance that members are entitled to receive.

They were fast to take us on as a client, but then communication became next to nothing over the course of our tenure with them. Every 2-3 months we would follow up with case status but there was nothing to report, and we were told to sit tight. After about 2 years, we decided to change firms and asked for all correspondence related to the case and the investigator, but Brill's firm could not produce any informative emails or updates with the investigator. Most of the communication was "calls" and "voicemails", but nothing that showed progress or an attempt to bring closure. Brill's firm is either too busy (likely) or doesn't care enough (possible) to help with cases deemed "less significant" to them. In short, 2 years later we're in the same spot we were, and we are currently evaluating new representation. If we could go back, we would have paid the premium (higher cost) for other attorneys who we interviewed with who seemed more invested in our case.
