The good: layout itself with two adjacent wakeboard courses, good pathways if you wipe out in the far end of either course and it was not at all crowded on a Friday in October. The not so good: staff is mostly 18-21 year olds who act like they're doing you a favor. Didn't seem to be any adults managing the place. Cost me $80 for 4 hrs & equipment. Another $4 to rent a locker for my keys (though most everyone else just left their stuff laying around the dock). They have discounts on certain days but I am not part of any demographic that is eligible. read more

Awful place. Dangerous. Went there, paid 40 dollars and there wasn't even a knee board available for me to use. Ridiculous! After a long time of waiting i finally was able to get my hands on a knee board and tried out the cable car. No instructions whatsoever on what to do. I was doing pretty good when i fell on the other side of the river opposite to where the dock you are supposed to get back on is. Now the river is big so it was a long and dangerous swim back. Having to dodge all the people riding the cable car and nearly getting hit in the face I can tell you it was not a good experience. My friend was there with me too and got hit right in the face with a one of the handles going 15 mph. We received no help whatsoever. Do not go there thinking you will have customer service! read more

I picked up wakeboarding late 2015 here at Miami watersports complex thanks to their winter pass promo. I ended up tearing my rotator cuff a few months later... at miami watersprts complex. Between mountain biking (Which is also an option at amelia) and wakeboarding, I really thought boarding would be much safer. Truth is that you have to choose between your nuts / face (biking) and joints / tendons (wakeboarding). Regardless, you really don't care because life is super boring and none of this matters, you just wanna get off for a few hours. Well mate, you need to scope this place out. "Israel, I'm broke and this seems kinda expensive" - Living is expensive, scro. If you're on a serious busget then you might want to check out their site since they currently have 2 promos. One is for college students on Thursdays and the other is a general promo on Wednesdays.They also offer a military discount on hourly rates (not the passes) that isn't advertised. It might also apply to LEO and other service fields... IDK, just ask. General prices vary depending on how long you plan to wakeboard and if you need to rent equipment. Come check this place out, it is pretty fun once you manage to master the launch. There are slides and ramps so you can quickly work your way up to different wipeouts. There is a beginner side which has a major shortage of obstacles and and advanced side which has all the fun obstacles but it goes a lot faster. It took me a few weeks to work may way up to the advanced side, you might be a natural though. The only tip I have is the keep your knees slightly bent. The rest you have to learn the hard way. Most of the staff is pretty helpful and cool. Where this place is lacking is funness factor on the slow side. All 3 obstacles are in the same section, so you spend 90% of the loop just sucking air. I know, it's meant for beginners and beginners don't do anything these pros find interesting, but you gotta start somewhere. Not everyone wants their shoulders ripped out early on. If they would add 2 or 3 more on this side then it would be great. That would also help distribute the load when there are a lot of people on the advanced side. Just sayin. read more

Came all the way to Hialeah from Weston only to find out that the inflatable obstacle course could only be booked online. Such a waste of time. It's so simple to update that information on the website especially with the current pandemic. I understand that additional lifeguards need to be accounted for but that is information that could easily be added to the website. Not to mention the receptionist seemed annoyed that we did not know that we had to make the reservation prior to coming. We would have known if it was made known. What a disappointment. Awesome afternoon activity! We spent a couple hours kneeboarding and wake boarding. It was a reasonable price for a fun afternoon. The instructors were awesome and made you feel super comfortable. We were whipping around the course and just enjoying the time on the water. They let you change out from knee boards to water skis or wake boards throughout your time. When I was explaining the issue to a girl in the front desk their were other workers laughing around, or on there phones. The concept of this water park is great, but the implementation is quite lacking. The web site does not state that the "Get Up Guarantee" has to be purchased online, 24 hours in advance. When selecting to purchase that on the web site a page stating, "This offering does not have a details page enabled" appears. It was not until I found the menu button in the upper right of the main page that I found a working page to book any lesson. There is nothing on that web page stating lessons must be booked 24 hours in advance. The person working inside the main building seemed less than enthused to be there and was barely helpful. My son was told that he could ask a person down at the dock for advice on using the cable system and how to get up. It seems that there could be someone working there any day that would be able to provide the 15 minutes of coaching advertised as part of the "Get Up Guarantee" to make that first experience a great memory that makes the person want to come back. Then the safety of the place is summed up by the sign at the entrance stating to lock valuables in your trunk as the site is known to have a lot of thefts. Are you kidding me - a recreational site that was created to attract children and teens has a major theft problem? The parking lot is dirt and just unmarked spots off the road. They say that the first impression can make or break the relationship. The first impression of the implementation of this great idea says to run away quickly and never come back. Will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Unprofessional Operation. The facility could be a lot of fun, although the website has a bit of typical over hype, but I would not recommend going to this place unless you are very local to it. We planned a day while in FL to spend at this facility and booked both a cable lesson and boat lesson for the same day on their website well ahead of time. Both were cancelled within about an hour of the start time of each. We had an hour drive so the first happened while we were in route to the place via text message only, and the second while we were there "making the best of it" while waiting as there were a couple of hours between the appointment times. Both cited breakdowns (in both the beginner cable and the basically new 200K boat) AND lack of instructor availability as the problems. I spoke with multiple people who gave conflicting stories that just didn't add up in multiple ways. We were also there on site for a several hours and observations didn't support the stories either. I generally will give people the benefit of the doubt but based on all of this added together I formed the opinion that since it was slow day and no one else had signed up the activities they used the above-mentioned reasons to cancel our appointments on short notice. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Although refunds were given, we basically wasted the day because of this. The only thing they had open was the advanced cable with no instructor. The line seemed long to me, 20-25 minutes between runs, but apparently it was indeed a slow day because others said the line is usually much longer. Problem was that unless you were proficient at cable boarding it was not a good environment. I observed beginner after beginner basically face planting off the starting platform and then having to get at the back of the line to try again. In addition, the teens and pre-teens who were obviously regulars were foul mouthed and were being allowed to cut in line by the staff. In summary, if you are beginner and/or want lessons and you go on a slow day you are risking them cancelling on you last minute and the facilities not being fully open. If you go on the weekend when presumably they are busy, there are likely to be very long lines. And regardless you will have to deal with a staff that has bad attitudes. And apparently it is located in a high crime area as evidence by other reviews and the fact they have a sign out saying cars regularly are broken in to so don't leave valuables there. Hopefully this helps others avoid the disappointment we experienced. There are plenty of things to do in FL other than have your time wasted at this place. read more

The first time I went I was able to reserve online but If I could give ZERO stars for this time around I would. I've been trying to plan to do the aqua park for about a week and I could barely get someone on the phone for assistance. There was an option to reserve online before but now for whatever reason you aren't able to or at least I couldn't. Even when I created an account online to do so. Then, trying to get anyone on the phone is a mission. Once I finally got someone on the line, I told her I wasn't able to reserve online all week and the girl clearly said I can come in as a walk in 15min prior to the session starts and just purchase there because they rarely reach capacity. Misinformation!!! Today I literally drove about 45min for the 2pm session and it was booked. I couldn't even book the 3pm session because that was sold out as well! The kids and I were highly disappointed. All of this could have been avoided if they had updated their site with the correct information. Waste of time! They need to hire more staff and provide them with the correct information so ppl Aren't wasting their time, money, and gas coming here hoping for a good time. They need to find a way to compensate customers for this inconvenience and misinformation! read more

Very friendly and helpful staff. We learned to ride at the end of our 1st day. It's our 9th or 10th visit, and we liked it so much we got our own gear. Rental gear is definitely enough to get started. I strongly recommend a begginers lesson special if you've not done this before. So, to summarize it's a great activity for adults and kids. read more

I am used to wakeboarding and this was my first time cable wakeboarding at this location. The good -Great equipment rental selection -Easy process signing waivers, paying -Friendly staff -Awesome riding experience -Sufficient lockers To the owner/Tips -A few times I felt lost. No instruction from the desk. She just gave me a bracelet, locker and equipment. You might want to design and employ a "start to riding" greeting system. Have a person walk them out, show them the system etc. If you focus on hospitality and assume your customers know nothing it will benefit you, your business, and the other riders. -this includes the very nice person running your cable system. She was nice, and offered instruction but I had to wander around and figure it out at first. - when I look for cable wakeboarding on Yelp, your business doesn't show up. -these pointers come from Love, I'm not being picky or rude. I really had a great time and I work in hospitality, so I just want to see it better and for you to succeed. this park should be slammed with business because it really is awesome. read more

I'm out of Towner so 1 st finding it was rough cause my GPS stopped working. Staff guided me in by phone . They were very nice. Hialeah is a bit ghetto but the Amelia park is just awesome! The drive in is nicer than industrial city at OWC. Overall, great place. Good vibe , people were cool. Wake boarding obstacles have gotten so gnar lately. They should put more obstacles in the beginner park. Also, both cables are a long pull , so 4-5 times around for someone that doesn't ride all the time -- arm burner. The 1000% raddest thing is you can swim at the beach in Miami , bounce over for a 2 hour session , and be back for drinks later. Just adds to cool stuff to do in Miami. No bathroom - port a potty . I'm so happy that they made this place a couple years ago. I always wanted to do this sport but there was nothing nearby so once they set this place up I was able to do it regularly. Wished they had a location more south since I live in homestead but I still manage to make it at least twice a month. Staff is pretty nice cool and laid back. This place is awesome for water sports enthusiasts. You can ride the cables or book a boat session. It's in the back of Amelia Earhart Park. They have a cute shop with food and drinks. They also carry merchandise and rentals. I love the lounge area. I will have my son's birthday party there and he wants to try their summer camp for kids ages 7-15. Staff is super friendly - Karen in the front office and Nacho have been super helpful. Definitely will be back and highly recommend this place. Best cable park in south Florida. read more

As a beginner I expect to not be amazing at something however when the employees on the beginner coarse won't even have the patience to work with you and start barking at you the experience becomes extremely unenjoyable. When I spoke with the manager he agreed to refund me for the unused two hours however when I go to get my refund he refused to give it to me. This is after he we agreed that I would finish the first two hours and be done after that. Nope he goes against his word and I'm left with just a very shitty experience. read more

We have skied and skated in parks all over Florida and Georgia. This is a fun park. I brought my 14-year old son and 10-year old daughter. It has a great 2.0 system for beginners, a counterclockwise intermediate lake, and a clockwise lake for advanced riders. Lots of unique features if you choose to ride them. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The park was not busy at all on a Friday afternoon. It was windy but the park did a good job installing floating docks to cut the chop. It's a nice park and seemed safe to me. It has a great lounge area for parents to read or work. I chose to ride instead. Why let the kids have all the fun... Was not very satisfied with my visit to Miami Watersports. We went there on a competition day, but there was no kind of notification when buying our passes. When we bought our passes, the staff was rude and did not help explain anything to us. Instead, they slapped our wristbands on and pretty much said "have a good day". When we went outside, we saw there were two cables. The cable that spins counterclockwise, goes EXTREMELY SLOW. I realize this is the "beginner cable", but the slow speed made it more difficult to get up and continue to ride. The other cable goes faster, but because of the competition, they shut that one down, so we were basically stuck using one cable with everybody. Another thing to note is that there is no island in the middle, so both cables are extremely choppy. Next time, I'll definitely skip the cable park. Not worth the time or the money. read more

Was really looking forward to wakeboarding here, but windy and cool. 6 tower cable on cable II, looked like easy tower turns and long run. Very Nice facilities. Young staff, not overly friendly, no one welcomed us or ask if we needed help. A couple of them were to busy skateboading on the deck. there is a sign at entry saying no boards or bikes. Also a sign saying no pets and 2 dogs were on the deck. Real Close to Opa-locka airport. Agree with the other review that an island in the middle would break up the waves, esp on windy days. read more

Having been to at least 7 different cable parks in 3 different countries (including at least 2 others in Florida) - this place is the best! Danny, one of the cable operators, was super helpful, encouraging and took time to coach me on a few tricks! The advantage is there are two cables both operating in opposing directions, different speeds and different corners - meaning if you are left or right footed - one of them will definitely make it easier for you. The area is quiet and laid back. You can also do doubles here. Free parking on weekdays.
