Because they are dealing with urgent situations, and they are busy because it's the best place in Miami you can go for what they do. But I promise you that if you are ever the unfortunately urgent situation, they will take great care of you. There is nowhere else I have ever been that will move heaven and earth to do follow up testing same day to minimize waiting/reduce extra anxiety. I went for thermography in August 2018 since I knew there was no need to subject myself to…read moremammography and radiation to determine whether I had incipient breast cancer. Thermography can detect a problem years before mammography can, WITH NO RADIATION. In other words, without contributing to the problem it is supposedly trying to fix. I visited Jennifer in her office on Giralda in Coral Gables. The whole process was relaxed, comfortable, and private. As another reviewer pointed out: no touching. I had a full body thermography. A few days later I received a 10-page report with all the images and clinical assessments for my whole body. It confirmed that I had absolutely no inflammation in the chest area. It did identify OTHER inflammation problem areas which I later confirmed in separate medical visits. In other words, in a single visit, I not only ruled out breast cancer but also got a picture of my overall health. It was eye opening. Here is a sample: Paranasal sinuses: No significant thermal findings at the region of the paranasal sinuses. Temporomandibular joints (TMJ): No significant thermal findings at the region of the TMJs. Thyroid gland: Hyperthermia at the region of the thyroid should be correlated with thyroid dysfunction. Evaluation of a panel of thyroid lab tests and an ultrasound of the thyroid is advised. Carotid arteries: Hyperthermia at the region if the left carotid artery should be correlated with dysfunction at the left carotid artery. Evaluation of a CRP is advised to rule out systemic inflammation and a Doppler ultrasound to rule out carotid artery stenosis. Neck: Hyperthermia at the posterior and lateral muscles of the neck correlates with myofascial inflammation. Jennifer herself was very professional as well as friendly, personable, interesting, and well informed. I have not stopped recommending her to friends and even to some of my doctors, who requested materials to hand out to their patients. Having thermography instead of mammography is a no-brainer in my view. If the thermography detects something significant in the chest area, then you can decide whether to get a mammography for greater detail. But it makes sense not to subject yourself to radiation needlessly.

The office is lovely and so is the office staff. My review on his practice: STILLBIRTH DELIVERY on 1.1.15 Longest and most heartfelt review I will write on yelp: From day 1, I never waned to see Dr Tumero, as a close friend of mine had a still birth in 2nd tri under her care. Said friend reviewed her file with head doctor (Fink), both came to the conclusion that closer monitoring and treatment could had made a difference. Fast forward and guess who I get stuck with? Yes, Dr. Tumero Details:I had a regular doctors visit on 12/31/14, during my ultrasound, tech noticed that heartbeat was slow, she quickly called Dr Simmel in and I was asked to head over to baptist for further monitoring. Upon arriving to baptist (5 minutes later, as building is right next door), my daughters heartbeat was detected by monitor used by nurse. Five minutes later, Dr Tumero (who was on duty at hospital) shows up and requests bed side u/s. U/s tech arrived within a couple of minutes and by then, my daughter was gone. Between time of my arrival, check in, blah blah blah, about 10 minutes passed. Though you maybe thinking, 10 minutes is not that long, it is when your child's life is at risk. Knowing what I know now (further testing detected that I have an autoimmune disease which often correlates with still births if left untreated) I understand that OTHER factors COULD have caused my daughters passing, however, we did not know (still don't) what "the cause" was when it was all going down,so my thoughts are: If Dr. Simmel called baptist to let them know that I was heading there with baby with slow heartbeat, why the delay in dr Tumero showing up? My daughter passed away at this hospital, all while we were present. Why was an emergency c- section not done if one minute there was heartbeat and not the next? so many questions. I know that nothing will ever bring her back, but I question the response time and how the situation was handled. ------- As if what I described above is not reason enough as to why to avoid this practice, here are additional mishaps that took place during pregnancy. I had a VERY healthy pregnancy, so my visits were short and to the point. However, there were many mishaps along the way, one of them being that a test which is done during 2nd trimester detecting abnormalities was overlooked. They apologized for that, and during that time I didn't think it was a big deal, but after having lost my child, I wish that every single test had been done. Aside from that, there was a lot of back and forth with medication prescribed (Diclegis for nausea and vomiting) the office sent prescription to my pharmacy for wrong amount (less pills) so I was having to go back for refills every couple of weeks, spending more money per bottler, wasting time and gas. It wasn't until the pharmacist asked me why I hadn't just ordered 100 pills to begin with vs 30 at a time, that we were able to correct the issue by calling obgyn and having them send correct prescription. U/s tech with long hair- this lady is one of the most unpleasant people I have ever met in the industry. I do not recall her name, but I saw her twice early in pregnancy and requested not to see her again. I tried both times to initiate small talk (commenting on her daughter's ballet pictures/ asking about her day) and got nothing. She always had a crappy face on, and was non responsive. Having an u/s done is both exciting and stressful, she did zero to make the experience more pleasant. Please stay away from this place if you are expecting, it is my only suggestion. During a doctor's career, there is no doubt that lives will be lost for x or y reason. I just REALLY feel that my daughter's life could have been spared, if things had been addressed promptly.

Dr.Hernandez-Rey is simply a godsend. Without him and his team I wouldn't have my daughter. Dr Hernandez-Rey was always open and honest with me, which is so important to manage expectations. He made me feel as if he were a family member working with me to achieve a goal. He is more than a doctor, he is a friend. I repeated to my OB what I was told at Conceptions and even she looked puzzled. In afterthought, this place just feels like a scam, trying to make money by lying to you.

On Wednesday morning, I called and was told the results would be ready that afternoon. Since my office is across the street, I walked over -- no results. I went back Thursday morning and was again guaranteed they'd be ready that afternoon. Returned Thursday afternoon -- still nothing. I explained multiple times that my cardiologist appointment was 8 AM Friday morning and was reassured I would absolutely have the report in time. Friday morning, after being on hold for nearly an hour, I was told they were "working on it." I then went back in person and waited another 45 minutes just to speak with a manager. She finally admitted there was a technical issue delaying calcium score reports. My frustration is not only the delay itself, but the fact that nobody was honest with me all week while I continued wasting my time going back and forth and relying on repeated guarantees that were never fulfilled. Because of this, I missed an important cardiologist appointment that took four months to schedule. A simple honest explanation earlier in the week would have allowed me to reschedule appropriately instead of being repeatedly misled. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this location based on my experience.
