From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the smell of smoked meat, and you know you're in for something special. It's a quaint little place with community-style picnic table seating indoors, and you can tell it gets busy during peak hours. The staff treated us like family from the moment we walked in and made us feel right at home. I ordered the baby back ribs and brisket, and both were outstanding. The collard greens were hands down the best I've ever had, and the sweet potato soufflé was just as memorable. Even the Texas toast was incredible--I don't usually talk about bread, but this stuff was fire! The drinks were served in large cups, and the sweet tea was absolutely perfect. Dinner for two came to about $78, which might seem a little high at first, but quality barbecue isn't cheap, and every dollar was worth it. The portions were generous, everything was fresh, and this was easily one of the best barbecue meals I've had. We were so full we almost skipped dessert, but I'm glad we didn't. The homemade Key lime pie was the best we had during our entire trip to the Keys. It was smooth, creamy, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of Key lime flavor, and unlike some of the others we tried, it wasn't gritty at all. It was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in South Florida.

Every table she assisted she referred to our table as being the problem where the tables would then be staring at us and our kids the whole time. Every ask was met with a forced smile, and rolling of the eyes as she walked away. She then went to the system to enter the orders and was pointing at us - She clearly was annoyed of having to serve a large group like ours and made the experience terrible despite the food. I understand it's inconvenient when a high number table arrives but there was still a level of service and respect that should have been present. We will never go back.

Started with Sonny's Amber ale and they brought me out this small glass but at $5, they are meant to be consumed in pairs.... i think. It was cold and delicious. We then ordered the Pick 4 with Baby Back ribs [no sauce], sliced turkey, sliced brisket and sliced pork. Love my brisket but the wife and I both agreed the smoked turkey was delicious. If we could only get one item, that would be it. I know, I know but it was so good. For the sides, we enjoyed the coleslaw and the tater tots. Place was very clean and updated. I could see myself spending a lot of time at their bar if I lived in the area. Sonny's, we need you in CA.

When you do find it, the prices are either very high or the food is just blah. Sonny's is in the perfect niche of good & affordable BBQ. I would say two people can eat with potential for leftovers at approx $50-$60 total (no alcohol & excluding tip) The service is solid, the decor & vibe is not over the top but just enough. Will it be the best BBQ you've ever had? Nah, but it won't be the worst either. Sometimes a place right in the middle needs to exist & Sonny's is exactly that. I don't mean that in a negative manner at all. Where I think Sonny's excels is with their pulled pork, corn bread, baked beans, tots, texas toast, & their corn nuggets. The pulled pork is just juicy enough to survive on its own without adding sauce though. adding some sauce is good too & doesn't hurt. The brisket I found to be just ok, enough so that I would order the pulled pork if I was asked to choose between the two. Haven't tried full menu just yet but will work my way thru it with each visit. Would I eat here again? Yes, I will for sure be eating there again.
