A really fun time but the facility could use some care. Everything looks pretty old. Music was a little loud but not overwhelming. Public Skate had already been going for a bit when I got here and the rink was definitely overdue for a polishing, that said it didn't really impede my ability to skate. The food looked terrible, except the mini donuts and mini churro bites, I didn't try them this time but might next time. There's an instant coffee machine that also looks pretty bad, I wouldn't risk it. Renting skates was relatively effortless, they just asked me if I needed skates when paying admission and then gave me a ticket. Some questions I had: * Should you bring a coat, hat, gloves? If you're wondering then probably yes. I warmed up eventually so if you're not wondering you'll probably be fine with a comfortable sweater. * Are there lockers? Yes! They take 4 quarters, and they have a dollar conversion machine nearby, so bring at least one single dollar; I'd recommend two because they're single use and I forgot a bunch of stuff the first time I closed mine. * Do people actually go here? Yeah! It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon, just shy of what I would consider "crowded" but definitely hopping. I have to admit it's been decades since I last ice skated, so although I was excited, I was a bit nervous and hesitant to get on the ice. I started off really slowly, but gradually built up my confidence. I went with a group of friends to the earlier session (1-7pm) and had a really great time both on and off the ice. There were skaters of all ages and levels on the ice. Not sure if it was because it was the last Saturday of winter break, but I felt like it was packed! It didn't bother me too much because I was cautious. I'd like to go back and check out the rink during the Saturday night session with the DJ. There was a line to get in when I went around 4pm but it moved pretty quickly. Overall for the price of $17 that includes entry and skate rental, I think this is a fun activity to do with friends or family. After skating we had plenty of restaurant options just in the shopping center to choose from. One note for the drinkers, the ice rink is dry, so they don't serve alcohol, but they do have hot drinks, sodas and energy drinks. read more

Can't believe this place hasn't changed much, still fun though, but hasn't changed much and a little TLC would do it some good. Came on a Friday night for a school event, to support the PTA... quite stressful as it was super busy, even to go inside we had to stand in line almost an hour. Kids really wanted to attend, so we did. For today, it was $15 entrance and included ice skates rental. For the littles they have "seals" to assist them with skating. They were $10 to rent but because it was such a busy time, we were not able to get any. They offer skate classes and I'm considering starting those for the kids. All in all, recommend. My daughter and I came for a play date with her friends and was my first time here this place is kind far from Miami take without traffic 35 min from downtown on a Sunday evening. They have a huge parking lot outside is one of the biggest rink I think in Miami, cheap and perfect for younger kids. 16$ por person with the skates include. They have got a cold drinks, fast food and some sweets and games if you want alternative play out of the cold. They have lockers and little waiting are for parents, they allow rooms for party's and they play good music. During intermission and at the employees discretion they can ask you to leave and require you to pay for re-entry to skate again. This means that the only reasonable time to skate at this location would be when skate sessions begin. I say at the employees discretion because after visiting this location several times and sitting and waiting through the change of sessions, I was recently told I could not do that. Zero Stars!! This place has no consideration or respect for their visitors. I called the day before to visit facilities and book my sons birthday party. Once there I presenced they had an issue with someone who reserved a party and were given the wrong room. I stepped aside of my tour and told Jennifer the employee I would wait so that she could assist them. My son wanted to skate so in the meantime we were directed to do the long line because their credit card machine was broken and all entry was delayed. We Did the line signed waiver paid we went to rent seal assist rents for $10 an hour so we went to grab a bite to eat since its timed. We go back to rent one and were told no seals were available and they had a waiting list again we were told to wait. 3 seals were returned in front of me and asked if my son could have one and they said NO! I needed to wait!! I said comeon weve been bere for over an hour we are here to reserve his birthday. So I asked to speak to manager the (old lady) and she said I too had to wait!!. I asked for an exception since we had already at this point been here for over an hour. She said No!!!! I said than I want my money back for the skating and We are not doing his birthday here either she said back to me that she didnt care that they have every weekend booked any ways. She was rude and nasty I reminded hee that that isnt how you treat a paying customer. Of course my son cried and the whole experience was awful. Mind u I had told the manager in the beginning that Jennifer the girl who was giving is the tour was very kind. Sadly the manager the old lady there and other staff were rude and disgusting. Parking is a bit messy here. The skate rental process was rather quick however the skates are very uncomfortable- expected from a rental place with high volume turnover on rentals. Decently priced and the food isn't half bad. The charge for the seals on the ice are a little steep but I found people rent them and leave them on the ice unattended so if you're lucky you can share those with another group without paying. Held a party here for my kid and the service was pretty good. room was clean and ordering items was a breeze. read more

Kendall ice arena is a great time for the kids and those adults who like to skate. It is a no frills skate ring and the prices are reasonable. Friday nights are full of teenagers so I tend to go early and usually the kids get to skate and enjoy. Great way to cool off on a hot day! The snack bar is not the best of food but for the price it's decent. We have been coming here for years to skate with friends and have even had birthday parties for each of my daughters here. We will continue to enjoy this arena for the years to come. read more

We came to this establishment for a birthday party. At a glance, once we walked in the place appeared to be clean but with a very small entrance and there was a lot of people coming in. I estimate that you can only fit about 20 people ( tight at a time). Once we reached the counter window we were told that waivers needed to be done in advance. We didn't know that. I asked for a waiver to fill it out and the tall gentleman with the short brown hair cut explained that waivers needed to be done on our phones. Half of the people did not have phones. I believe this is utterly ridiculous that individuals are expected to own phones in order to satisfy requirements for an outing. This is not acceptable. People need to be accommodated with paper waivers and not expected to have phones or they should provide an electronic stand with computers for our use. I ordered a hot dog that was shriveled up but I ate it. The French fry's were stale and the pretzel qualified to be a crouton. The kind kitchen personnel did change out the two items, but they should have never been sold. Based on this experience I am very disappointed in this lack of empathy for customers. However all was not lost. Once the kids began to skate life was good. I spoke to soon... my daughter fell and cut her hand we went to the desk to get help and we were given a bandaid. When I asked how we could only get a bandaid we were told this is all their allowed to give us because the medicine cabinet is under lock and key. I will not recommend this place at this time. Ah, the Kendall Ice Arena... So many memories of my teenage years. From the slippery ice, smelly skate rental area and dirty public restrooms -- not much about this place has changed. For an ice rink located centrally in a busy city, this place needs a major update. I hadn't been in years but my kid-at-heart friend decided to celebrate her birthday with a stop at the ice arena. The charm was somewhat lost after about 30 minutes of feeling like a hamster going around in slippery circles. Because the crowd is mostly teens, I can see why there is no effort put into fixing the place up.The individual "party rooms" looked abandoned, the paint and graphics along the rink transport you way back in time (not in a cool way) and the ticket office, good station and rental area were way understaffed. The space itself is large enough where if turned around, could attract much more business. read more

You have to sign a consent form here before skating where you know that you are "skating at your own risk", now I know why. My family went ice skating here back in January. My wife has been skating all of her life so and she thought it would be fun introduce our three year old son to it. We went through the check in with no problem and signed the consent forms thinking nothing of it. When we were given our rental, the ones for my son had broken laces so they weren't very secure. We were not to concerned since he was going to ride on the little training seal the whole time. My wife was unfortunately given a pair of hockey skates without asking for them. She thought they were regular skates and didn't realize that they do not have the toe pick. Because of this, she had a really bad fall and FRACTURED her arm when she tried to do a turn. This was something that she could do on skates with a toe pick. She was in a lot of pain and went to what is marked as first aid station. That was closed and no one was able to help her. She was told to just sit down and rest. The office didn't seem to concerned about her injury and pretty much put the blame on her for accepting hockey skates. We went to an urgent care clinic where we learned it was a fracture of the radius. She was given a follow up appointment with an orthopedist who recommended surgery. We went by the Ice Arena two days later to let them know what happened. They didn't seem to care, put the blame on us. The manager told us to file an incident report, an option that was never given to us when we were first there. She told us she would send the report to the insurance company and they would contact us. That was over two weeks ago and no call. read more

Overall nice place to go ice skating. We had quite a few issue with the rented skates...they aren't top notch of course but at least one pair would keep opening up by itself. Overall the place looks like they haven't kept up with it for a while. There are some party rooms and lockers and food areas. Plenty of parking. Currently at $16.00 per person and you can rent the kid seals (devices to help them skate) for $10.00 before 7pm. Since I hadn't been here for a few years, you now have to sign a waiver electronically before going in..so keep that in mind as each person has to do it and it will take a moment to go through. read more

No strict adherence to COVID safety protocols! Their website claims to take temperatures but all we did was show an order number and got in. Rink was at full capacity, and mask wearing wasn't enforced for some without masks in the waiting area. There was no hand sanitizer stations in sight. Workers were racking up some of the used skates without any kind of sanitation right after people turned them in. There's not much I could ask for from rental skates but these are awful. Two of the 5 people in our group had blisters in less than 5 minutes. They're not sharp and make skating near impossible. read more

I recently moved from another state and this was my first time skating anywhere in Florida. I was very excited to get back on the ice. Ice hockey is my favorite hobby and sport. I play it, I watch it, I know it. Being off ice for over 4 months is a long time for me. This rink is terrible. The refrigerating system barely keeps the ice frozen. There were a few spots that DIDN'T have puddles of water. Everywhere else it was covered with water. Soft ice makes it hard to skate and not as enjoyable. I have enough skill to manage and not fall but casual visitors struggled and naturally got wet after a few falls. The building itself is not well insulated and it is rather warm inside. I had enough fun to shrug the deficiencies off but will go try the rink in Pembroke Pines next. Not coming back to Kendall. read more

During the week the ice arena focuses on the athletes that have been skating for a while. However on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays they offer group classes for the people who aren't as experienced. Their group classes have fantastic instructors who make it very interactive and fun for the "students" However if group classes aren't your thing, the instructors offer private classes for an extra fee. However it definitely makes a difference on learning. A definite must go, especially if you like to learn a new sport ! read more

This skating rink is not to bad. I mean I always have fun when I come because I love ice skating. But it is lacking in some key areas The main thing I don't like about it are the rental skates. I mean you don't expect much from rental skates. But these are just terrible. It seems as though they haven't changed them in 20 years. They smell horrible. Are I'll fitting, and the blades are very dull. Does not make for a great skating experience especially if you are inexperienced. The party rooms are pretty cool for a kids party and they have an arcade area for kids to play some games as well. They also sell some basic food and drinks, which are pretty standard for a skating rink I guess. But anyways can't complain to much, they have a pretty good deal on Groupon usually where you can skate for a pretty long time really cheap so. That's a plus. If you love to ice skate, you don't have many options in Miami so I would come here if you happen to be I. This area. I had my daughter's birthday party at the Kendall Ice Arena. The contract said the only outside food we could bring in was cake or cupcakes. When I made the reservation over the phone they told me the same thing. I ordered one of their bakery packages and planned for bringing my own cake. My daughter asked me for a red velvet cake, so I ordered one from the Publix bakery. They only had red velvet cakes in an 8 inch round, which serves 10, so I ordered some cupcakes to make sure I had enough for everyone. The owner, Jane, stopped us as we came in and wouldn't allow us to have both the cake and the cupcakes. She said it was in the contract that we couldn't have both pointing to the word "or" in the contract, where it said the only outside food allowed was cake or cupcakes. She said we were told we couldn't have both when I reserved. No-one specified that it was either cake or cupcakes and we could not have both on the phone, and that is absolutely not made clear in the contract. Jane said the girl who made my reservation did spell it out that it could not be both and the girl sitting there said that yes, that's what she had told me. That is absolutely not true. She probably was afraid for her job if she didn't say then what Jane wanted her to say. When I told Jane that was not true she accused me of calling her a liar and threatened to cancel my daughter's party if I didn't turn the cupcakes over to the hostess. She was completely inflexible! I had guests on the way, so my only option was to hand over the cupcakes. In the party room next to ours they had a cake, chocolate covered strawberries, and servings of something creamy in individual cups. My husband saw another party room that had a cake and a flan. None of those items were on the arena's food or bakery menus, so obviously they brought in outside food. Yet we weren't allowed our cupcakes. The hostess in our party room was a sweet girl, but didn't come check on us often and we had a hard time finding her when we needed something. We had no forks when it came time to cut our cake, and I had to go hunt her down while my guests waited. When we ran out of water, I had to flag down another host for a pitcher refill. We had to wait 30 minutes after the party time was over for her to come and settle the bill. If the way the owner treated me was any indication of how she treats her staff, I figured the poor service was a result of being stretched too thin, so I gave her a decent tip anyway. The ladies' bathroom was horrendous. It was dirty, three out of four stalls had out of order signs, two other toilets were disgustingly clogged, and in at least one of the few usable stalls there was no toilet paper. I used to come here all the time as a kid, going back after 8+ years was meh. Nothing much has changed, the skates are still the same from like 10 years ago and they are so uncomfortable and worn out and they stink SO bad. The ice is uneven in some parts. I do suggest going early since there's not that many people and you can freely skate, otherwise it gets super crouded at night and it's sometimes impossible to skate around. read more

We've been to a few birthday parties here - considering it's the only ice skating rink within 30-45 minutes of us, you take what you can get! The most recent party had a class where they teach the kids to skate which was a nice touch because after about 15 minutes on the ice with a child under 6 who looks like a drunken sailor moving across the ice you're back starts to hurt. A lot. I wish they would have those little walkers for the ice that other ice rinks have. That would make the experience a lot better. In my opinion every time that i go to this business i have an amazing time. Once you get here you will see how clean and neat it is. In my experience i have only had one small confusion but i got resolved really quick I got my money back because the lockers took my money but I immediately was refunded. There is only one danger there and that is if you fall and cut yourself but what do you want the employees to do, most the time they are in the arena. Every time that I go to the arena there is always atleast two employees in the rink to help you get up but that still doesnt mean that there is going to be an employee with every person at the same time.
