The local WalMart Supercenter, for example, is about a ten-minute drive away, on the other side of town. It's worth the trip, though, as Miami has a rather quaint downtown area. The online reservations site for IHG represented this hotel as being pet-friendly. That is wrong, this location does not accept pets other than service animals. That issue aside, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and our room was very clean and comfortable. TV had good channel selection, not the limited list you often get in a hotel. We had a Keurig in our room, the first time I have ever seen that, and it's so much easier than the usual hotel single-cup coffee makers, this is a very nice touch. I noted another reviewer had an issue with the pool; it was closed when we stayed here. The breakfast was very good, about as good as you'll get in this business model where everything is self-serve. Pre-made omelets were tasty and tender, and there was a good selection of cereals, juices, pastries, and a one-minute pancake machine that actually makes good pancakes. Great biscuits. The coffee here was pretty good, too. The only real issue we had was the water pressure being so low in our second-floor room that it was difficult to rinse off all the soap after bathing and shampooing. That may be a room-by-room issue, for all I know. But that only loses one star.

Beds were clean and firm the way I like them. Tv had lots of channels. The breakfast was great. Scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage patties. Make your own waffles. Lots of different cereal to choose from and fresh orange juice, and apple juice. We stayed two days and everything was great. Parking lot had good lighting. Oh and they have an indoor swimming pool. It right off the toll so easy on and off. Even 5-6 casinos within 5-15 minutes. Definitely to be afraid to try this place.

I'm not quite sure where the gnats came from but we killed five in the room yesterday evening/night. Pillows were awesome and bed was comfortable until the lizard decided to join. Bathroom and room was clean and smells pretty good when we walked inside. Not much to do aside from going to casino or swimming in the pool. Fitness room has basic things like an assortment of weights and cardio equipment.

The AC had the room cold (really cold), which we like for sleeping but I will say it was a little loud, but not so bad as to keep either of us awake. The bathroom was large and had a nice walk in shower. The water pressure was a little low in the shower but we were on the third (top), floor so that's to be expected. Check in was fine, the desk clerk was friendly and that part went smooth, but as soon as I pulled around to my room, I met my neighbors. South of the border car dealers who couldn't park straight to save their lives, various pet owners with large dogs that enjoyed dumping in front of the rooms, and meth users galore. Those guys pissed me off the worse, as besides being loud, they really seemed to enjoy tossing their cigarettes unto the dry mulch where the plantings were in front of the rooms. Being risk adverse in the fiery death department, I would periodically come out with an ice bucket full of water to put out the smoldering mulch....I sensed it made my neighbors upset as I guess it made them feel inadequate....that was my intention. It's sad that ownership has let this place slide to where it is, as you can tell it was well built and isn't obsolete, most of its problems are superficial. The sliding closet doors are on rusted out tracks, and the ceiling vent is rusted along with the ends holding up the curtain rod. The lamps in the bedroom are rusting too. Most Choice Hotels use these lamps and I've never seen this at any of those places.Other than the lump in the shower floor, most of this could be cured with proper ventilation. The breakfast was adequate, but the floor show was exceptional. The Tiger King was there with Honey Boo Boo, and after he strutted around the room showing off his tucchus and the fact that he's going commando, as evidenced by his massively ripped jeans, he and his sweetie got down on their knees to pray before eating. 1 STAR -- We left immediately after seeing the room…read more We arrived expecting to check in, but after seeing the condition of the room, we decided not to stay and left. There were roaches, no hot water, and what appeared to be mystery stains throughout the room, including on the walls and ceilings. The overall condition was bad enough that we were not comfortable staying there. We didn't even spend the night--we left because the room was unacceptable. A hotel room should at minimum be clean, sanitary, and have basic necessities like hot water. I would strongly recommend inspecting your room before settling in or, better yet, considering another hotel.
