This was the luckiest lunch find we could have imagined as we were leaving Music & Sky at Cielos, just about an hour away. Seriously the food was FULL of flavor and perfectly seasoned. Meat was extremely fresh and the burrito was absolutely LOADED. After getting back from 6 months of living in Mexico, I can say that this was *better* than most of the food I had there! Place is the bees knees. Fave Mexican food by far. Prices are high but at least the food is bomb. I get a pork carnitas burrito , wet and get it every time. Straight bangarang. Their chips and salsa are all made it house. The Diablo will make a grown man cry. read more

A nicelittle unassuming place. Tasty food, tasty salsas, fairly quick service, and reasonably priced. Easily part of my regular rotation.

I usually only get the shrimp tostadas, the birria taco, the chicken and veggies plate, but my all time fave is their micheladas. They are not always made by the same waitress... So sometimes they can taste different... which makes them not quite my favorite drink. But when we do get them from our favorite waitresses, they truly are the best Michelada's I have ever tasted. Their food is always amazing also and the waitresses are always really friendly to us. read more

The food here is really good although the price for Birria went up! The first few times I ordered Birria it was 8.99. Then it went to 9.99!! Not bad flavor was very good so I didn't mind the increase. Then 10.99, then 11.99, then 12.99. I went last week and now it's 15!!!! Come on I understand raising prices but 15!!!! There are some clear strengths to this modest restaurant: lots of food for a low cost, terrific salsa, and very good customer service. The dining area includes worn tables, seats with torn cushions, and card chairs. That won't put me off if the food was amazing. Unfortunately only the refried beans were. The meats and tortillas were all pretty low quality, and the enchilada sauce was almost certainly from a can. Also, our enchiladas, tamales, and tacos came out just a few minutes after ordering. Clearly made ahead and then simply heated. If quantity is the priority, and you are not accustomed to excellent food at inexpensive taquerias, then this place might work for you. read more

I'm a bit of a taco snob. We were working out here in Taft and reluctantly decided to give this place a shot. The service was pleasant, extremely FAST and the tacos were pretty good. The asada was not gristly, the avocado salsa was a good flavor and the tortillas were soft and authentic. Also had a sample of the chile verde and it was good as well! read more

The Birria tacos were so good. I got 4 of them and couldn't eat them all and the next day they were just as good. The flavors were so fantastic. I've never tasted tacos this good. Vicente's is a nice Mexican restaurant in Taft. Dining area is clean. Staff is helpful and friendly. Food is tasty. What food do I recommend here? The Damn Good Burrito (I believe that is the name) is large and tasty. Actually, this is the only item that I have ordered here. It is a bit pricey, but it is good for two meals for me. Personally, I like this burrito filled with their Chile Verde! It is so good! There are other choices of meat available as well. Carne asada and Lengua taste almost as good inside that Damn Good Burrito. Great food, specially seafood, my suggestion is to try a seafood botana, with shrimps, octopus, scallops, oysters and sea snail, with tostadas, goes excellent with a Miche. The owners are very friendly, clean and the environment is nice for families. read more

With an unassuming appearance, this small restaurant serves up some real quality food. From the street, this place looks like a spot you might walk right on past, but take a look at the happy faces on the diners and give it a try. We had a party of four and we all raved about the flavors and for some of us, a unique twist on tried and true Mexican classics. The only criticism I would have is that their definition of mildly spicy is a lot hotter than most American tastes. It would be really nice if they provided a truly mild salsa version available with the complimentary chips and salsa. read more

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant and we have only been once. Just wish it wasn't 100 miles away. The food was soooooo delicious. Best carnitas ever and the frijoles were the authentic Mexican style. Lots of choices for salsa at the salsa bar. I could eat there everyday. Service was so wonderful. This is real family restaurant. Owners cook and serve. The waitress makes the best flan in town and 15 batches a week for her adoring clientele. Oh my goodness, I have missed what real Mexican restaurants are supposed to be. Excellent small family owned restaurant who cater to their customers. Basically, a Mexican cuisine themed eatery, but has one of the best burger in Taft. They also serve a great biscuit and gravy breakfast with traditional bacon and eggs on the week-ends. You're treated like family. read more
