This is a special place for my fiance and her mom, they've been coming here since the 80's. When they first brought me here I loved it. Really personable staff, owner is nice and accommodating. The food here is simple. You're not going to be blown away. But it's proud Mexican food you're more than happy to pay for. Tucked away in the older part of Yuba City El Central has a small but deep menu. They don't try to do too much. It serves them well as they've been in business for over 40 years. Their complimentary soup is great for the soul. Deep flavor in the broth. Noodles and cabbage go perfect in it. They also serve tostadas and salsa while you browse the menu. The chile here is bomb! Spicy and flavorful! Went with the menudo as someone in their reviews said it was the best in town. Although it was really good here I'd like to try more menudos in town to declare it the best in town. Loved my visit here and I'll definitely be back with the family again to support this family ran restaurant.

I met the owner JUAN and he said they have been in business for 58 years! I certainly can see why! I ordered the 2 beef enchiladas with rice and beans. It also came with soup and warm fresh tortillas. Complimentary chips and salsa. Both the ground beef and shredded beef enchiladas were tasty! I tried a few bites of everything and it was delicious! The chicken soup was flavorful with corn. The red salsa was mild but the green salsa was awesome because it was spicy and tasty! YUM! They have a full bar and special margaritas. I had a nice chilled chardonnay with lunch. They also have a lady near the front making fresh tortillas. It was a really great experience with quick service and friendly employees ! Thank you Juan and Megan for superior service. I will be back! Btw...I was able to watch Argentina play while I was eating. BONUS!

Worst, most inedible carnitas (?) ever! They were so dry/desiccated/old that at first I thought someone had left a piece of bone in it. I spit out what I thought was a bone, and took another bite...I got a mouthful of hard, old, crunchy (not in a good way) pork. The burrito was huge and looked great, but in the trash it went. I am a little concerned about getting sick. Jeeze! Go somewhere else!!!

Total cost about $23. There is an outdoor patio area around back for seating, but you order street side on Cooper St. There is no indoor seating or bathroom. There were a few orders ahead of us, so it was about a 10 min wait for our items. They were out of Vampiro, which was the first thing I asked about. The cashier was super friendly and asked us what we wanted on our food topping wise - she rattled it off for us so we didn't have to look. Lots of the usual toppings included in the price, like sour cream, lettuce, cheese, and salsas. I wish they would have given us the drink upfront since it was that 10 min wait. You will battle flies if you stay and eat outside..but it's yuba city so that I'd to be expected. The surf and turf burrito had a slight kick to it. I'm not sure if it was a salsa or a seasoning on the meat - it was good, but I did add extra green and red sauce 1 sauce of each was included - extra salsa cost more. The shrimp in the burrito were nicely cooked and a good amount of them. The chicken burrito bowl, I was told, was really good. Overall, I would be back. It's less crazy than Antonio's and not the extra markup for everything. I look forward to trying the famous Noc fries next time.
