The Martinsville's area OG Mexican restaurant! I remember coming here when it was just a small trailer and business has really grown. We have several Mexican restaurants in our tiny little town but this one is still my favorite! Right now my favorite is the grilled chicken with grilled veggies and cheese. I go through spells where I will get the same thing over and over then switch it up! Whether you like fajita nachos or veggie choices you really can't go wrong! Way overpriced. $15.99 for chicken nachos can go to el paral 3 miles up the road and same plate is $12.

My uncle ordered a drink from the bar they served him the wrong drink that tasted horrible (like water) and they never replaced the drink after being told and charged him full price this is absolutely ridiculous. Mi Ranchito offers really good Mexican cuisine. The food was served piping hot which is not always the case at Mexican restaurants. The beef enchilada and taco were both packed with ground beef and very flavorful. They didn't skimp on the cheese or the sauce. The rice was delightful and served very fresh. The service is the only thing that could use a little improvement but they are most likely short staffed like the rest of America is at the current time. I would definitely eat here again. This placed is always packed when I pass by. read more

I'd give this place two stars if it were in California, but I've learned that good Mexican food in Virginia is VERY rare. For Virginia, it's probably 3.5. The pros: The server (Alex) was helpful, friendly and attentive; the complimentary chips were excellent; the booth was comfortable. The cons: The taco I ordered was average, and the tamale was subpar (they only offer chicken, not pork). The strawberry margarita was awful, although Alex was nice enough to make another that was slightly better after we said so. Food was a little slow in getting there because large groups were in the restaurant. Neutral: The rice and beans were a bit spicy, which was different than what I've had before. Pretty good! The curbside service was awesome. Got the order perfect and was quick for pickup and easy to pickup at the curb. Great service. The food was good. Wasn't the best ever but solid and reliable for sure. They included chips and salsa in the takeout! Already a leg up. Shrimp tacos were good and the kids meals were very well portioned considering their inexpensive price tag. Ate here on my visit to Martinsville because I'd heard good things, but the people I ate with commented that it seems to have changed recently. The people working there were nice but lacked skills/confidence as if they all started yesterday and the service was not great. Chips tasted weird. Outdoor tables had the most painfully uncomfortable chairs maybe of all time? Like they were a chair factory reject, or should have had cushions but didn't... I will give the restaurant another try, but not those seats. No way. Those need to be tossed out. They're physically hazardous. read more

Best time to come is a Tuesday ! 1 dollar tacos. They are simple tacos and include your choice of meat with cheese and lettuce. You can get more addedbut it will be extra. Margs are cheap on a Tuesday also. read more

Those who know about Mi Ranchito go everyday for lunch. Those who don't surely don't live anywhere near this south VA town. The real reason you go here is because it is the ONLY restaurant for miles, an oasis in the desert of Nascar. For better or worse, no matter who you are, it is guaranteed that you will see at least 5 people you know. Stick around for a couple days and you will begin to recognize everyone. Sometimes it is a big party, while you eat you get to hear about city politics, how Tami's dog is doing and that Jessica is still in school and doing fine. So it can be quite fun, unless you are avoiding someone. I forgot about the food. Don't worry: food, price, staff. They are all muy bueno. Any other questions, just ask.... There are several options for Mexican in Martinsville, but this hits closest to authentic. El Ranchito a close second. I always get the lunch fajitas- EVEN AT DINNER- because I'm a renegade. It costs an extra dollar. Get the Jalisco. Compared to others it has more complex and authentic flavors. It's no socal, and you're not gonna find black beans or lingua tacos- but it's still totally acceptable. The service is always on point. One time I got so drunk here on Tequila that I bit the owner's finger till he bled, but he still lets me come in. I really appreciate that. To my credit, he was trying to sensually touch my lips while calling me mi amor. I actually loved it I'm sure, but apparently did not know my jaw strength. read more

3.5 - Cute little Mexican place near the speedway, we stopped by after the STP 500. Service was very friendly, serving sizes were good, and prices were fair. It's pretty standard Mexican fare, nothing gourmet, but there's not a thing wrong with that. We all enjoyed our meal here and would go back for sure. read more

We love to go to this place. We enjoy the outdoor sitting area. The food is always outstanding and I adore their chicken lime soup. We enjoy the service and appreciate how friendly the staff is. This resultant is always a welcome place to relax. What more can you ask for in Martinsville? This is only one of three places we return to. This is a very good restaurant, and in a very good location, but if the previous reviewer would look around, they would find many other fine restaurants in the Martinsville area. There is an Applebee's, Ryan's, Texas Steakhouse & Saloon, Chinese resaurant and at least 2 or 3 other mexican restaurants within 2 miles of Mi Ranchito. It is not the ONLY restaurant for miles.
