The beans were nice and thick, not the soupy beans we've received in other places.. chips were warm and the guacamole was chunky. My husband had the ranchero pollo. He agreed that it was the best we've had in a long time. The staff were courteous and efficient. Service was quick. Food was excellent. We are 20 miles away. We will be back. The drive is worth it.

There are two locations in town, and I went to the one on East Jackson Street. I was immediately seated in a booth. Water and chips arrived before I could open the menu. The chips were excellent, and the salsa was quite good, though surprisingly oregano-forward (I'm pretty sure that was the flavor). It's like they replaced the cilantro with oregano. Unusual, but tasty. I ordered the Alambres dinner, and this massive plate of food instantly appeared. I don't know what kind of magic they have going on in the kitchen, but I've never seen dinner arrive that fast. Delicious rice (perfectly cooked and seasoned), a nice pile of lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, etc. But the star of the plate: lots of shrimp, thin strips of steak and chicken, sauteed yellow/red bell peppers and onions, smothered in a cheese sauce. All very tasty, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The cheese sauce was a little thin for me, but that's a very minor issue with this impressive plate of food (it was so much food that I ended up finishing it later that night in my hotel room - still good).
